Thanks to our Order partner DanRadcliffe.com, we can see this new article from the June 2008 issue of Film Review, where actor Dan Radcliffe briefly discusses both the “Deathly Hallows” and “Half-Blood Prince” films. Of the upcoming sixth Harry Potter film, Dan notes:

“Harry is unhappy for a lot of this film, mainly because people keep trying to kill him. And his love life is awful, too. That’s what Jo [Rowling] does so well, combining everyday mundane problems with this incredible other world.”

Thanks Jenna!

I agree dan, Jo is amazing. I can’t wait for this movie to come out. I’m so excited but at the same time I’m nervous that they might not get absolutely everything in.

We have to be careful assuming it will be released May 16. I trust Sue when she said that her source was legitimate, but I’ll just feel more comfortable about it when it is formally confirmed by WB. I guess it’s just the pessimist in me.

As for pictures, I’m pretty bummed by that too, however, that seems to be the trend this year with blockbusters. If you think about it, we really haven’t been bombarded with Indiana Jones or Dark Knight images like you think we would at this point. Also, we have to remember that OotP was released less than a year ago. It’s possible WB is trying to prevent spoilers, or perhaps they want the teaser to be the first thing the fans see.

I love how it seems as if this person’s saying that people trying to kill you is an ‘everyday mundane problem’. Beautiful….

‘Neither does Quidditch, BonnieRadcliffe- I think they’re saving the best stuff for later. :)’

I hope you’re right, Leggers!! =) I thought that maybe that was the reason why Ginny doesn’t appear in the teaser, but I wasn’t sure because it caught my attention that they included some Ron/Lavender/Hermione stuff, but not any stuff, a kiss!! I thought that they would save that for later, too, but they didn’t!! O_O

There’s a new headshot of Jessie Cave!! =D

With all due respect to SCOOP, I’m finding it hard to believe that the trailer description is legit. For one thing it just… doesn’t ring true. I know that’s a vague reason, but I can’t quite put my finger on what it is; it just reads sort of fanfic-ish to me.

And like others, I find it very odd that there wouldn’t be even the slightest mention of either Ginny or H/G, considering how much they’ve talked about and promoted that aspect of the storyline in interviews. The “they’re just saving the best for last” explanation doesn’t really work for me, because it doesn’t seem to me that movie studios think that way. They usually want to show anything and everything that they think will pull people into the theaters, regardless of whether they are spoilers for certain subplots. Remember how much they hyped Harry’s first kiss with Cho? We got a pic of that long, LONG before the movie came out, and it was in both the teaser trailer and the longer trailer. They certainly didn’t “save that for last”.

So for now, I’m remaining cautiously pessimistic about the validity of SCOOP’s scoop. I’ll gladly eat crow if I’m wrong. :)

Sorry for the double post, but I forgot to say this.

Another reason I doubt the trailer description is legit, is that it’s still posted here in the comments. No one has deleted it. In the past, I’ve observed that the Leaky mods usually tend to delete very quickly any legitimate leaks or spoilers about the movies/books. They never say anything when they do it; they just quietly delete it; and that’s usually a big clue that there was some truth to the spoiler.

But SCOOP’s description has been up since yesterday afternoon, which makes me think that the mods know it’s fake and don’t think there’s any harm in it. Of course, that could be because they simply haven’t seen it yet. My theory is blown to bits if it suddenly disappears in the next few hours, LOL.

I’ll admit that this is the least persuasive of my “description is doubtful” arguments, but I still think it has some merit. ;)

So Scoop – out with it – where did you get that description. If you made it up yourself – very good – you should try to get in the business. I could really imagine the whole scenario.

I’m starting to wish that Leaky required people to register before they’re allowed to comment. It seems that the RDR lawsuit has unfortunately attracted a lot of trolls to the site, judging by the state of the comments lately. And they’re not even especially clever or creative trolls, since some of them don’t even bother to think up their own screenname. They just add a “2” on the end of the name of whomever they’re flaming. Genius, that is. ::eyeroll::

Back on topic. I’m amused by Dan’s comment “mainly because people keep trying to kill him.” Hee. It’s nice to get some movie news.

‘SCOOP’s teaser trailer description IS LEGIT! You’ll see for yourselves in a couple of weeks.

Can you tell us how you know this, Scully? I’m not saying one way or the other if it’s legit, I’d just like to know what you’re basing your certainty on.

Ooh I really liked the teaser trailer description, that was cool!

As for not including Harry/Ginny, my guess is that the overall ‘theme’ of the trailer is intended to be dark and ominous, where Harry/Ginny’s relationship is awkward and funny. Ron/Lavender is tragic for Hermione, so perhaps that’s why it is included.

I just wish the WB would give us some pictures or some already, so we won’t have to wonder so much about what’s legit and what isn’t. It’s always nice to hear from a castmember, but Dan didn’t tell us anything that we don’ t already know. Come on, WB, some solid, verifiable information, please!

Lady Whizbee

Good point, Elyzie! The tone of this trailer isn’t very compatible to H/G. They seem to be pushing the darker more mysterious topics, and R/Lav is quite tragic for Hermione…so in that context it sort of makes sense.

I wouldn’t be surprised if there isn’t a longer trailer at some point that focuses on the humor and romance. We’ll see…

Sorry, that was supposed to be “some INFORMATION already”, not “some already”. Doh.

Well, by the same token, Dean/Ginny was tragic for Harry in the same way as Ron/Lav was tragic for Hermione, so the H/G/D stuff fits in that context as well. It does seem rather strange that there’s not even a mention of it in the teaser (assuming it’s legit), though perhaps that means there’ll be LOADS of H/G/D to make up for it in the proper trailer that comes out later. Time will tell.

Saria—I was just going to post about PotterCast too! MUST . . . HAVE . . . IT . . . BY . . . TOMORROW!

Sorry for the off-topicness, but I need somewhere to vent my anxiety. I keep on compusively checking back to Leaky to see if it’s here yet.
