New Mention of "Half-Blood Prince" in Film Review Magazine
HBP FilmThanks to our Order partner DanRadcliffe.com, we can see this new article from the June 2008 issue of Film Review, where actor Dan Radcliffe briefly discusses both the “Deathly Hallows” and “Half-Blood Prince” films. Of the upcoming sixth Harry Potter film, Dan notes:
“Harry is unhappy for a lot of this film, mainly because people keep trying to kill him. And his love life is awful, too. That’s what Jo [Rowling] does so well, combining everyday mundane problems with this incredible other world.”

yeah…i guess wht dan says abt harry’s true…he is hardly happy…even more so in hbp..and i feel like i’d lose my best friends too…i mean HP films coming to an end..i could really u’stand how it feels….it’s like spending abt 15 yrs of ur life with a group of ppl…nearly daily..and then saying good bye….sob*...am thinking if they’re gonna have hp tv series!lol…highly unlikely…budget will b too high…

Maybe it is a girl thing, but I miss Harry’s long hair. It looked so much better and more “wizard” in the earlier movies. Hopefully, in the DH movies it will be longer, because it is mentioned that he hasn’t had it cut in a long time.

WAT??harrys happy that people are trying to kill HIM?They cant have changed the story so that Dumbledores isnt the one trying to be killed by the necklace etc. because if they have that ruins everything.I think that this tells us they have changed a lot of stuff -my opinion,discuss…....

zak: he said “UN-happy”
and I really hope this is the actual trailer, it looks good to me *and as much as the whole “kiss” has people hysterical, and it is sort of important for harry. it is NOT the most important part of the movie! the important part is the potions book, Voldemort’s past and the horcrux!!
and the reason why they made such a BIG deal out of the other kiss in order of phoenix it is because it was Harry’s FIRST KISS. and order of phoenix was all about first/beginnings- first kiss, beginning of opposition/ problems for harry, the beginning of the war… etc.
so yeah, kiss not so important
looooooooking forward to the trailer!

Zak – I know what you’re asking. I don’t think that they will change the main storyline of Draco trying to kill Dumbledore (not Harry), but it is true that throughout the books, someone is always trying to kill Harry.

@ Neliehp
I don’t think people are saying that the kiss is the most important thing in the movie. They are only saying that it’s odd they haven’t included it in the teaser trailer, considering how much Dan Radcliffe and the director and others have hyped it in interviews.
That said, I think it’s a little more important than you’re making it out to be. As you yourself said, it’s pretty darn important TO HARRY. And considering that this is the first kiss Harry shares with his future wife, and that that kiss is what Harry thinks of at the end of DH just before he “dies”, I’d say it’s just as, if not more important than his FIRST KISS. But that’s just me. ;)

I’m beginning to agree with English Ivy that the “teasler description” is dubious, partly because it’s still posted here. Leaky usually takes down true spoilers faster than you can say “thin-bottomed cauldron” (and I think they’re right to do so… it’s not a criticism, Leaky!) Considering how tight-lipped the WB has been about movie info this time around, I find it hard to believe they wouldn’t have quickly contacted Leaky and asked them to remove the description if it was a legitimate one.

About the kiss – I just have to say it – I could not care less. I guess I’m just not into the romance parts as much as alot of people. And truthfully – I have never liked Harry and Ginny as a couple (and I’m not a Harry/Hermione person – I think Ron and Hermione together are good, there’s some humour and affection there). It never made sence to me – he really didn’t pay attention to her at all through five books, and then in the 6th one, he’s pining for her. And she’s just Ron’s little sister who always had a crush on him. It always just bothered me that they got together and I accept it, but don’t care about it. I think Harry should have stayed unattached until his 30s – he really probably had some issues to work out.

Ah, can we please not start in on the ship-bashing, guys? I know not everyone likes the canon ships, and I’m not saying you have to be looking forward to the kissing & the romance. But there’s no need to start belittling the ships. A lot of people DO care about them and love them, and there’s nothing wrong with us looking forward to seeing it in the movie, or hoping that we get snippets of it in the teasers and trailers, etc.

Agreed with Bedford Falls. We’re all Harry Potter fans here, and certainly some of us are looking forward to the romances Jo wrote in her books; I’m one of them. I can’t wait for the Harry/Ginny stuff, it made Harry so happy in the books and the boy truly deserves happiness. Plus, I think Ginny’s a fun character. Can’t wait to see her and Ron finally play Quidditch. The Ron/Hermione/Lavender triangle will bring a lot of laughs, so I’m looking forward to that as well. :)
I’m also looking forward to all the Snape stuff and hope they’ve finally given Alan Rickman some decent stuff in this movie.

If that Scoop trailer leak is true then I’m glad they’re not showing any H/G moments. That relationship didn’t really sail anywhere in this book. Just one kiss and then abrupt separation afterwards. If Yates really want to include some “sex and rock and roll” in this movie, then he has to rely on the R/Hr/Lavender trio. Sad news for the H/G shippers. BTW, I’m getting the feeling that Dan doesn’t like the H/G pair either. That it’s even diminished in the last movie must be welcome news to him. I agree with him. Let’s concentrate on what’s really important. And that’s the plotpoint on Harry vs. Voldemort, not any crappy romantic flings.

Scoop confirmed the trailer was fake, although it seemed real to me. shrug
Dan has no problem with H/G, did you read the article? He praised Jo’s writing style of mixing Harry’s love life woes with the fantasy elements. There will be plenty of romance in the movie concerning H/G and R/Hr, Yates and Heyman already confirmed this.

I don’t see the ‘sex, drugs, rock and roll’ to be just about Won ‘n’ Lav. When you think about the first half of HBP, there’s also Romilda Vane, the love potion, girls cornering Harry to get him to ask them to the Slughorn party, and Hermione getting her own back on Ron with McClagen. I think it could all be pretty funny on film if it’s done well.

Okay, then. If you’re not going to tell me why my posts were deleted, perhaps you can tell me why the posts of “Cave Hater” (I’m not going to say the whole name) over in the Alecto Carrow article are still up?
