R.I.P. Fred, Lupin, Tonks, and Snape. We still remember you “ten” years later.
P.S.: Joyeux Anniversaire, Victoire!

it has got to be fred weasley. Big up to the weasleys :L haha. looove it

You can deduce the date because I think Harry says (don’t have the book at hand at the moment) on the day of breaking into Gringotts that May started etc etc. So the battle was on the second of May, the day after Gringotts. I looked it up when Jo said that and that’s how you can deduce the date. Before that they were several weeks at Bill and Fleurs, but you can’t get a date out of that untill Harry makes that comment.
I didn’t realise the anniversary when I saw the headline but then I remembered. It is said, and we can take a moment of silence for all the fallen heroes…

Oh and of course Happy Birthday Victoire

The 2nd May quote is in one of the preview clips as well as the full ITV documentary, and is in the Galleries at http://video.the-leaky-cauldron.org/video/958 There is also a phrase saying something like “Now it was May” from the early morning before the Gringotts raid, which can be read as meaning it was the first of the month which would mean that, as the battle started at midnight, so it would have taken place in the early hours of 2nd May.

wow i remembered when i finished DH i felt so sad and felt like a big whole in my life was missing

I’m finding this contest to be a bit lacking, not in the idea category far from it but in it’s guidelines. A 50-word piece is hardly enough to write a proper eulogy to a character/s we love. Even the April contest requested a 150-word entry when a poem is usually much shorter then a eulogy. 50 words just aren’t enough to write something proper. Maybe just up it to 100 words. I have an idea but I can already see it will be much longer then 50 words.

so 9 years from now 2017 is when the epilogue will take place

Well, that’s an odd coincidence…I’ve just gotten to the Gringotts chapter in my re-read of DH today, and was hoping to find some time tonight to get through the Battle of Hogwarts. I will DEFINITELY make the time now I know this is the anniversary. tears

wird today is also my little sis’s bday!!!Thats two things to celebrate!!!!!Go harry!!!!
luv-lily

isn’t it 19 years later like the epilogue (but i think im wrong and just not thinking)

Well you could go through the book and follow mentioned dates and extrapolate from that.
OR you could just take Jo’s word for it as she said it in the “Year in the Life” documentary as she drew out the family tree diagram… that Victoire was born on the first anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts, “which is May 2nd …”
