Over the weekend, Collectormania was held in Milton Keynes in England, where actress Natalia Tena took part in an autograph session with fans. Emma, from the Snitchseeker, was able to speak to the actress about her role in the upcoming Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. According to the report, Natalia Tena says her character Tonks “was only on set for the part where Death Eaters attack the Burrow at Christmas (where Harry & Weasleys are present). She said that none of the angst of her character is there – indeed, she and Lupin are just suddenly a couple when they meet there.”

The actress goes on to give a few thoughts as well about “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” and what happens to Tonks during the book, with Tena noting in the film version, she ” would love to have to ride a broom with a pregnant belly.”

Thanks to Snitchseeker for mailing!

Am I the first here to remind everyone that the producers got JK’s permission to ADD a scene to show that nowhere is really safe? The attack at the Burrow is that scene.

Lolly: Umm… what is it that you are saying about Dumbledore’s funeral? They are not filming it??

I totally agree, Hermy. My God, has 5 movies seriously not got it through peoples heads that things will ALWAYS change- it’s an ADAPTION, not the book word for word on screen that does NOT work, so get over it. Complaining does nothing for your health.

Thank you Jeanne, I’m going to scream if one more person doesn’t inform themselves about the new scene- you snooze, you LOSE.

I’m not too upset about changes that must be made for the films (and I too thought that Tonks love for Lupin was rather sudden in HBP – there was not even a hint of it in OOTP – I didn’t notice it anyway). But now I wonder who will find Harry on the Hogwarts express under the invisibility cloak after Draco has paralyzed him? I’m pretty sure they’re doing that scene as they did show a bit of that on those sneak peak films of HBP that you can see on YouTube. I don’t care that much – just curious.

why’d they add this scene instead of filming Dumbledore’s funeral which is one of the most important scenes? =_= bummer…

WOW. i cant believe they took that out. i mean i can but still. it wont make sense to nonHP readers why all of a sudden lupin and tonks are together. theres a story behind that.

Live, Love, Harry Potter!!

For anyone inquiring about the Burrow scene it has been explained enough times over in the comments about the trailer description but i’ll say it again! The attack on the Burrow is an added scene to remind people that nowhere is safe – not even the Burrow. It was confirmed ages ago and approved by J.K Rowling. Wait until you see it to judge.

Wait a second. Burrow scene that has been added has absolutely nothing to do with Dumbledore’s funeral. Do not mix that two up please. The funeral is in as far as we know. BUT I only mentioned it because it is in one of the comments that they might not be filming it which could be absolutely wrong statement, just to cause some panic. So don’t worry.

“I was lucky enough to talk to Nat myself when I went and I asked her if she was going to be filming a death scene for Deathly Hallows and she said she doubted it highly, . . . .

She also mentioned that they were going to cut Dumbledore’s funeral from the sixth film which really upset me.” (The above quote was edited to include the parts pertaining to this latest discussion.)

THAT’S the reason people are now talking about Dumbledore’s funeral being cut. I agree with those who have said that they are unhappy about that particular scene not being included. It’s not some side story that can be tossed away because it doesn’t deal directly with Harry. It’s the first time that Harry is allowed to deal openly with his grief, plus it sets up Fawkes leaving and the whole story of just where Dumbledore’s wand is. They could shorten the funeral, but to cut it altogether? Bad idea.

I DO understand that the movie is not the book, but it still bothers me when they take up valuable screen time for things that weren’t even remotely close to canon and then leave out things that set up the next movie. Or should set up the next movie. I’ve said for a long time that they were going to have trouble with the movies when they started leaving out key scenes and key people.

The only problem I see with leaving out the angst for Lupin and Tonks is that they haven’t had enough screen time for anyone who hasn’t read the books to care when they are killed at the end of DH. That does a disservice to the characters and to the richness of Rowling’s writing.

Problem I see is that they are still trying to say this is a children’s movie, even with the PG13 rating. They just need to admit that the appeal is for an older audience and then film it accordingly, which means making the movie longer than 2 hours plus a few minutes.

Ummm, didn’t she say not that long ago that her hair was going to be black for most of the movie, etc.?

I am glad I was not the only one confused with this sudden attack of The Burrow at Chrismas. Someone is confusing book 6 with book 7. Thanks for correcting that error.

Sorry, but I still think had someone besides -Kloves-writing the scripts for those HP films he has that they would have been even better [and would probubly already have gotten credicule acclaim long before OOTP did]. The man who wrote ’’The Queen’s Handbag ’’skit would even have been a better choice than Kloves.[that was excellent in so many ways] I have always found is odd that from these books that are SO well written ,with such an incredible story that the main screen writer[Kloves] of them can’t seem to put together incredible scripts. The source [the HP books] ARE AMAZING Having said that ThIS IS HARRY’S story and most other character’s ,unless they propel his story forward, are just not important to a 2 and a half hour film, something has to give.

Wait… Death Eaters attacking the Burrow? In HBP? On CHRISTMAS!? What the heck did I miss?

On a side note: Why? Why? Why??? Where’s the RLNT Angst? ::cries::

I think it’s fin that they cut out the angst but they should at least give them a story since they’re going to die in the 7th movie. It won’t be as emotional because to the movie goers, they’re just going to be random people. It’s been a long time since Lupin was a big role so people forget him already and Tonks never really had a big role in the movies so their death is going to be like ”...wait. Who are they?” type of thing. So I think they should give them at least a little story for emotional and entertainment purposes for the movie goers…

Well, there goes one of my favourite parts of book 6. Only a matter of time before the rest go too.
