they are mostly from the UK. Im going to be patriotic and vote for the ones from the US.

Arina

maybe.. they thought it would be cheaper to send someone from the U.K. rather than the U.S.

I thought the entries didnt have to be in ballad form; i guess i was wrong.

Arina : SAME ! i spent hours and hours and hours getting mine to perfection, they nnever made it clear it had to be a poem format. Very gutted as i would of been able to do a decent poem, but instead went for normal writing. They should of made it clearer

I vote for…. ME!!!!

muahahahahaha!!!

OK, I didn’t enter, but I’d still like to do a write-in vote for me. That would be so awesome, to cradle the book in my arms… Yeah, they might have to taser me to get me away.

Oh well, I certainly wish luck to all the semi-finalists. Can you imagine being one of the final two and then losing? Ouch. Mega-ouch.

I know I’m a bit biased, but I think my entry was better than a few of the semi-finalists. I didn’t read anywhere that the entries had to be a poem or anything like that. Oh well.

Good luck to everyone who make it. It didn’t say anywhere it had to be a poem, but they only chose poems, they should have included other formats for variety. I thought mine was pretty good… oh well.

@ Ariana

Actually they made it clear that it didn’t have to be in ballad form, though if they were going to choose ballads for 19 of 20 semi-finalists, they may as well have just made them be ballads (I do find it funny that there were a number of people on the discussion about the contest kicking themselves for having done it in ballad form when it wasn’t required.)

I think we should all remember that the Polyjuice Potion worked wonders for the Order in Deathly Hallows, so taking the place of the winner should be easy. :)

Decent entries overall, but I only voted for people who seem capable of correct punctuation. I have never understood the point of sprinkling commas into a perfectly decent phrase or sentence as if they were some sort of nice decoration. Grammar nazi tip of the day: if you wouldn’t stop to take a breath at that point in the sentence (or poem), do not insert a comma.

Some of those poems were incredible!Congratulations to all those who entered the competition and gave it a shot!I didn’t even have the chance to enter,as I live in Greece:(...I am used now to the fact that hardly any competition is open for Greeks(for some unknown reason). It is however very sad not to be given a chance,as everybody else.So congratulations to all those who tried!I am sure you had a very nice experience writing your entry!!And of course there is no need to “be patritotic”and vote for the US citizens,as someone has stated. It will be very unfair to the others and after all this competition should encourage unity through the same Harry Potter experience, not separation according to counrty!
