“Sleep, my Bella. Dream happy dreams. You are the only one who has ever touched my heart. It will always be yours. Sleep, my only love.”

Yes, I like that line, as well, Susanna…although I still remember it as having stopped at ‘heart’ for some weird reason…

OK guys you may know me…or you may not. I’ve shown myself around here before! Ok so I don’t quite know if I am going to get in on this yet… I’ll have to consult Dom on that one. My totally neutral response at this moment is laughter. I love how this nice little article has been twisted into a battle of the books. I love Hp and Twilight. We do share Robert don’t we?? Really people, you all have different views, and we are all certain we are right aren’t we? None of us will be swayed in our opinions just because something another says will we? Hence isn’t arguing about it pointless? I think you should state your opinion and back it up. If someone contradicts you, you don’t have to respond. So I don’t get why everyone has to say EVERYTHING that is on their mind about their opinion, or another’s opinion. It seems to me as it a lot of these message boards just lead to the endorsement of people judging other people. I’m not saying I haven’t done that in the past. Ok so this entire rant leads me to this. You don’t need to say everything that you think. You don’t have to fight everything that other people say. Life goes on no matter if you hate Twilight, or love it. Get over it! Cho for now Bristi

To all of those who are bashing on Twilight, I would like to say that I believe you are wrong. Twilight does not compare to Harry Potter one ounce, I agree, however it is connected to Harry Potter in a sense. Many people I know who have read Twilight are also huge Harry Potter fans. I am the biggest Harry Potter fan of all of the people I know and I am also a huge Twilight fan now too. The thing about JK Rowling and Stephanie Meyer is this. Their writings are so extrordinarily different yet their audience tends to be the same. To bash on Twilight or say it is not good is out of the question. I know that we all love Harry Potter but comeon, we have to start enjoying other things. To put Robert Pattinson in a situation to ask how Twilight compares to HP is awful. Its not like Pattinson was playing Potter in HP but he is playing Edward in Twilight. The two do not compare, however they are both wonderful works that many people respect and care for greatly.

I think we should all agree to disagree. We can disagree with each other about which is better, but each are equally good to their respective readers. Therefore, no one is right and no one is wrong (although some are a little naive). So, moving on now…

“I am kinda sick of reading all of these hate comments towards Twilight, I find it disrepectful when people say how awful it is.”

Oh cry me a river, teeny-bopper!!!

Why is there a post about Twlight here? It has its OWN fandom it does not need to take over the HP one as well! Shame on Leaky for letting it take over our fandom!

Indeed – we should all agree to disagree in this case.

“I think that the Twilight books are becoming literary giants – they just haven’t come close to reaching the ‘Harry Potter’ level yet.”

Books that are widely panned as fan fiction and that even the author herself admits aren’t all that well written will never become literary giants. Keep dreaming!

Correction, Noooo – she did not say that they are not well-written. She said that they are not perfect, and that she is more of a storyteller than a writer.

The books are gaining in popularity, and so there is a chance.

I have read the three books and they are nothing like fan-fiction. These books are really good. When i first heard about them from a friend that really wanted me to read them i was skeptical about the topic but i was like “hey what the heck” so i read them. i could not stop reading i finished twilight, new moon and eclipse in three days. I never thought i would get the twilight fever but i did and now my whole school has it. these books are something else. i have no idea what it is but it is a very captivating story you will not be able to put it down. You should read it. And i say this again it is nothing like fan fiction!!! -All the way from NYC Andy-pandy

No, there isn’t a chance. Books that are a teen fad don’t become literary giants. Books that are compared to the offerings on fanfiction net don’t become literary giants. Twlight is just another part of pop culture that will eventually fad away after it has had it’s day.

need i remind you that when the last harry potter book came out, the third book of the twilight series(Stephanie Meyer) came out as well and Eclipse was number one by a landslide. just i comment i wanted to put out there. These books are really really good. you should all read them to see what the fuzz is about. and i must say the buzz is really big!!!!!!!!!!

Twilight is the teen version of Dan Brown’s novels. They are also top selling and always buzzed about. Doesn’t actually make them any good!
