@ Amy F: I am not sure if anyone else has mentioned this, as I haven’t read all the posts, here. If someone else has addressed this, I”m sorry. I think that this article is not about comparing one novel to another or one writer to another….it’s about Robert Pattinson [former HP castmember] and what he is working on, at present. Kind of a “where are they now” thing. Personally, I think it’s good to hear what some of the “major” other characters are up to, acting wise. Folks, here, seem to spend a minute checking out Dan/Emma/Rupert’s latest foray into the Acting Profession outside of HP. Even Katie and Michael. “What is Gary up to…what has Helena been doing…” It’s a piece of news that is interesting, from the point of what Mr Pattinson is doing, and it’s not JKR/WB vs SVA/RDR. It’s not the news we’re waiting for, RE Half Blood Prince, but….well. Sorry all. Kinda long-winded… *D
i m in the middle of reading this book andf i m falling in love with edward and to kno now who places as him in the movie i think he is hott in this movie but he wasnt as hot in harrypotter he was like the wonna be bad boy and now he is the real bad boy i really didn t picture edward to look like that i really pictured him as a mayjor hotty with long hair and stuff but don t get me wrong this guy is super duper hott and i m sorry if i talk to much i wonder if the guy plays edward reads this stuff and likes its fanss oh well

The Twilight Novels were surprisingly better than I’d expected (before reading them I was my school’s number one Twilight hater) but they are really overrated. They definitely are comparable to fan-fic, but they stories really aren’t too bad. I’d suggest picking them up from a library and, if you like them, buying them after.
I am embarassed to say that I enjoy the Twilight books. They really are written like fan fiction (although, honestly, I’ve seen many an HP fanfic with better writing), but I can’t help but like them. They are sort of my guilty pleasure.
I’ve never read Twilight, but the more I hear about it, the more and more it reminds me of Roswell the WB show from the late 90s, except they replaced aliens with vampires. I loved that show in high school.
i’ve read all the books of the twilight saga and i love them! they’re almost as good as harry potter! i can’t wait to see how robert pattinson plays edward. only 7 more months!

When people say something’s a love story, they mean romantic love. It doesn’t mean they don’t think there are different kinds of love, but if you grab twenty people off the street and ask them what a love story is, nineteen if not all twenty will say it’s romantic.
This trailer looks horrible. And I don’t just mean the storyline(though that looks pretty bad too); but the special effects and the lighting are awful. It looks like a fan made trailer you would find on youtube!
I usually disapprove of all of the Twilight vs HP talk. They are totally different, except for the fact that they are amazing books. I like LOVE HP and LOVE twilight at the same time. There is a good chance that if you like HP you’ll enjoy twilight. I also belive that Mrs Meyer and Mrs Rowling are both great storytellers and there is a deeper meaning in both of their works, it’s not all fluff.
I just started reading Twilight and I’m enjoying it. Some of these comments say how people only like them because Edward is so hot… well, that is not what I see in the books. It is true however that the first 100 or so pages is just a bunch of nothing that is not the best writing, but once you get past that, the mystery is pretty exciting. These books are definetly worth your time.
The Twilight trailer is amazing; very beautiful visuals with culpable tension.
There is no reason to compare HP and Twilight or keep yelling how much better HP is. Nobody should be made to feel stupid for liking a certain book – if you didn’t like Twilight, it doesn’t mean it’s a bad book. It’s just your personal opinion. The books are very different, too: HP is all about plot, Twilight is all about emotion. I for one prefer the emotion, although I like the plot, too. That means I’m a fan of both books. I think we should all raise our hats at these two ladies who have succeeded to get teens and kids grab books instead of video games or DVDs.
I read the first few pages of Twilight in the little preview Amazon offers and it just didn’t grab me like Harry Potter did. It does seem to me (from other people, mostly girls) that Edward is why they read them for in the first place… but I don’t know, it just didn’t capture me. I saw the trailer and I thought it was pretty boring. I’ll just wait until the movie comes out on DVD to rent it.
I think it is safe to say that the reason that there is such a “long detailed” article about something that is not about HP on an HP sight is because there is no HP news, nothing. If your not interested in hearing about Twilight, then simply don’t read the article. you didn’t have to hit the “read here” link and you certainly didn’ t have to comment. I do not think that any breaking Harry Potter news was pushed back for this article. Life remains the same.
