Congratulations are in order today for actress Emma Watson who won a Constellation Award as “Best Female Performance in a 2007 Science Fiction Film, TV Movie, or Mini-Series,” for her performance as Hermione Granger in “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.” The Constellation Awards, which are said to honor “the actors and producers behind Canada’s favourite Science Fiction TV series and movies,” were presented over the weekend in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, with a “Best Performance Male” award also going to actor David Tennant (Barty Crouch Jr. in GoF) for his starring role in the hit TV series, Doctor Who. Well done Emma and David!

First: A Question:

Are the HP films considered “Science Fiction Film”, if so I’d like to know exactly what’s so Scientific about them!!!!!

Second: An Opinion:

Well, sorry to her lovers, but the only award I see her fitted for, is an award for the most active pair of eyebrows, or the most cringe-worthy overacting of the season!

LOL! Right on mega! Exactly how I feel. Her eyebrows … wow. :P

Okay, Emma’s a great actress. She was really good in Ballet Shoes. I don’t know what’s up with Harry Potter though. She’s weird in them … just not all that great. Hopefully she picks it up in HBP. I’m really looking forward to seeing how she acts. I know she can, but I just haven’t seen it in the HP movies. IMO, she doesn’t deserve this award. But maybe there were no other actresses good enough who were in “Science Fiction Films”...

Ha! I wondered how long it would be before the “she can’t act” Emma-haters weighed in. Right on schedule! Reminds me of that great abortion clinic scene in Juno where the receptionist says “Welcome to Women Now where women are trusted friends, please put your hands where I can see them and surrender any bombs.” LOL

She is the one of all HP actors and actresses who less deserves an award…

And to think everyone who doesn’t think she deserves awards is a hater is silly. Everyone is entitled to have their own opinion. Many of us think she plays a character that is nothinng like Hermione, and you can not blame other people for that, because it’s the acting, it’s not the scripts or direction.

Anyway, who cares, I just want a trailer soon.

The reason people don’t like Emma’s eyebrow thing is that we are so used to seeing actors who don’t use any facial expression whatsoever. Watch your friends when they’re talking to you. You’ll see plenty of eyebrow action. It’s reality. Get over it.

Well done to Emma and to David Tennant, the best Doctor since the Jon Pertree and Tom Baker days.

I’d love if there was like… a huge and reasonable award within the fandom to pick random favorite stuff. From actors and book to podcast, blog, wrock band, book/movie quote etc. I hope someone from Leaky reads this ahhaa.

And hee. People can be way to radical and serious when it comes to Emma :-S. I hope it’s just the teenagers tending to do the usual overreacting. Cause come on, guys. There’s enough room in a brain to think a girl can’t act but respect her as a human being! Having a negative opinion isn’t being hateful.

Most aren’t attacking Emma personally. People are gonna post different comments about the subject of every post. Some will say they find her performance believable (if they do, hell, good for them!) and others will say they get annoyed and distracted by it, which doesn’t make anyone a professional Emma zomg1!! or a bitter/jealous female.

Re: science fiction. It’s standard in movie awards to put “science fiction” movies and “fantasy” films together in the same category, and HP fits in the latter.
