HBP Trailer Watch: Latest Report on a Teaser Attached to The Mummy?

There is another installment today in the continuing saga and wait for any sort of trailer for the upcoming Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Last night our friends at Bloghogwarts let us a know a rep for WB Mexico gave them a tip that teaser trailer was due here in the US on August 1, attached to “The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.” Today comes word from Oclumencia, that they have received notice from WB Brazil saying the same thing regarding an August 1st teaser trailer here in the US. Finally, Potterish let us know that in Brazil, they will see a teaser attached to “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” when it opens on August 15.

As interesting as all of this is, it should be stated that official word from Warner Brothers here in US, UK or elsewhere has not yet been issued regarding any sort of a trailer, either a teaser or the heavily rumored main trailer, here in the States and/or Europe, and we will update with an official US WB confirmation when it happens.

Also, it would seem those reports about a tiny teaser before the IMAX trailer are indeed true, as AintitCool.com and multiple readers have owled to say what is actually airing is not a ‘trailer’ unfortunately, but rather 15 seconds of simply the “Half-Blood Prince” logo on a black screen (no footage at all), with a voice saying “Coming in IMAX this fall with some scenes in 3-D.” Alas. Thus, we continue our watch for trailer news and will update once we get something more concrete from WB US.

Thanks Alejandro Oclumencia and Potterish!

On a tech forum I frequent, one of my friends wrote this in regards to seeing Batman on Friday: “I’m checking out the 8:45 IMAX on Saturady night in GR.

Ok, for the like 2 people who care, the trailers are as follows:

Standard: Terminator Salvation, The Watchmen (144 sec) and Body of Lies (the new Ridley Scott flick)

IMAX: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and The Watchmen (135 sec) “

Note that is the Grand Rapids, MI Celebration Cinema theater, Im not sure if that means it’ll be that way elsewhere…

The HBP trailer is like unicorns – it’s not real.

And I dig that they want to make a decent trailer, but would it kill somebody to give us, like, 30 seconds of the movie? That’s all I’m asking. They have to have 30 viable seconds.

It’s just withdrawls from the books, I think, that are making people lose it on this. We have no more books, so we have to cling to the movies.

I know I’m in the minority here, but the lack of information is increasing my excitement for HBP.

Actually Scully, i feel the same way. As much as it is annoying me to go through this trough-and-peak emotional process with every mention of a possible trailer, it’s annoying me in an exciting way. Like waiting for Santa Claus to come, you know? We’re still going to be obsessed and ecstatic and irritable no matter how long the gap is between the trailer and the movie. I just hope the trailer ends up being really worth the wait and stirs up a whole lot of excitement in the fan community. I’m so looking forward to the day that it comes out….every time I log on to the internet and Leaky pops up, I hold my breath just waiting to see if there’s a trailer announcement….. Oh well, we should just enjoy this while we can. Anticipation is half the fun, right?

Anticipation is only half the fun when you have something on which to base that anticipation….

you know this is actually a very SMART marketing campaign. They are teasing us by not teasing us. Letting the froth on the side of our mouths build until we explode. Quite smart. It is like when you told your mother that the kids were calling you names at school, and she said they are only doing it to get a rise out of you. She told you to ignore them and you did and they stopped. It is about attention. How many people do you think are eagerly and earnestly awaiting this trailer and this movie? The more we beg for a trailer and the more we post the more anticipation is built with even not so big fans of the series. They see the reports on Yahoo and and other news sites about the Fandom going nuts for a trailer. Great marketing campaign WB… with all that said, come on already I want to see a trailer.

Like pretty much everyone else, I’m sick of all these RUMOURS. I wish WB would give us something CONFIRMED! How frigging hard is it to give and exact date?

I thought it was going to debut with the ‘Dark Knight’. Is that off the cards now? I’m so desperate for this trailer but you’re all absolutely right. It’s absence in cinemas has been very pronounced. Every time I go to the cinema, I pray that it will just air but it never does. Many times when I’ve been to the cinema, I’ve heard people talking about Harry Potter. People who don’t check the internet for release dates, they get their info from the cinema. One thing is for sure, when HBP is finally released, it will be madness at the Box Office. I

I reckon this one will take way more than the rest of them….

I joked a few weeks ago, that we’ll probably get it when we’re all right in the middle of Terminus…and Leaky will set up a staffer with a laptop in the Lobby where 100s of fans will be squeeing together seems, like that is indeed coming true…

I’ve had enough. WB should have gave us something ages ago. The movie comes out in 4 Months for gods sake and we’ve still got nothing.

This is the longest wait ever…

I saw Mummy 3 at a preview screening and its awful, its does not hold a candle to the other two films. I suggest you wait for the teaser trailer online instead of wasting your money on this film.

I agree, 100%, with hinkypunkmum. Sue, you are a saint, for wading through all the “rumors” and dealing with the Fan disappointment. I think we’ll all be “rewarded”, in the end, though. Call it wishful thinking, naivete or just plain stupid, but I think that WB will make an announcement [an OFFICIAL announcement] very soon…like in the next few days. With any kind of luck, it will be on the ‘Dark Knight’. Or the ‘Star Wars’ movie [NOT looking forward to that little piece of animation, BTW] Where ever it “turns up”, I’m pretty sure we won’t be disappointed. I like to think that, as was earlier rumored, it will be a “full on trailer” and not a “teaser”...I think we’ve had enough “teasing” already! JMHO
