Thanks to “Entertainment Weekly,” who let us know about a brand new photo they have from Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. In the photo, which you can see via this link, Harry Potter (Dan Radcliffe) attends Potions class with Professor Horace Slughorn (Jim Broadbent). The caption reads:
“Daniel Radcliffe’s boy wizard has a new potions master — the guilt-racked Horace Slughorn (Jim Broadbent, pictured with Radcliffe) — in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, due Nov. 21. ’’He’s a good teacher,’’ says Broadbent, ’’but he has a fateful weakness for charismatic, high-flying, brilliant students.’‘

Never even read that. But yeah! You’re right! They may add his death at the end of the movie during the big battle? Aragog can help and then get killed. But it is still not the same…
Oh my gosh. ;) I’m so happy. I love this picture. Dan looks really cute with his little smile. Slughorn is still … eh. I`m still debating whether I like his look. I`m not all that furious with it, but I am a little disappointed. Anyway, that definitely is a flask. I`m thinking it could be Felix Felicis, but … I’m also leaning towards the memory. Didn’t Harry win F.F. during class? Wouldn’t there be students around? Or else they changed that scene….
Wait, I just looked at the other picture of Harry & Slughorn. And Slughorn is wearing the same outfit – just without the robes. I’m thinking that that is the part where Harry asks for the memory, and this new one is where Harry wins Felix Felicis.
So, I`m thinking that Harry is going to get F.F. during class, and then that night he’s going to go as Slughorn for the memory. =) Make sense?!
I know that Broadbent’s Slughorn does not look like the Slughorn that JKR describes BUT, Broadbent has done some really good character work. I can’t wait to see what he does with the part!
It’s not just you Dave. IMO, I think it makes them look immature. :( I liked the colors in OOTP. They made it look more sophisticated. BTW, look who’s graduating! Lol. (: Slughorn looks like he’s about to get a diploma or something.
Still not happy with Slughorn’s look, although I agree Jim B. is a great and fun actor. Hopefully WB will release the Hi-Def version soon so we can tell what really is in that flask…
I’m usually not that picky about how the actors look, but the Slughorn from my imagination and the one in the movie, physically, are not matching up. I hope Jim Broadbent does him justice w/ his acting at least. But I would have loved it if he looked like I imagined him :/
But anyways, great picture. Hopefully that vial contains some liqud luck ;]
