It would seem our streak of good news has come to an end, as Coming Soon.com is reporting today they have confirmed the trailers that will be shown before the new Batman film, “The Dark Knight,” and a teaser trailer for “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” is NOT among those listed. Putting an end to the earlier rumors that at long last we might see a teaser trailer for the sixth Harry Potter film, Coming Soon also speculates that they believe it might be shown as late as August 15, in front of “Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” however that is unconfirmed at this time. So its back to the waiting and guessing time again folks, sorry!
what the heck! i seriously wanna talk to WB at this moment – -
i mean, twilight’s coming out like on december and it’s teaser trailer’s already out and harry potter 6 is coming out november and it’s teaser trailer’s going to come out mid-August!!
- – i bet the REAL trailer for twilight’s gonna be out by then.
goodbye, habit of researching “harry potter and the half blood prince official trailer” every time i go to youtube – -
1st of all on mugglenet they said that the traier might be out infront of the mummy 3 on august 1 because they need to boost the ticket sales.
my 2nd theory is that the teaser is infront of TDK but wb is just teasing us.
ive also been hearing stuff like the HBP teaser will be infront of the TDK imax version.
WB is not dumb.
They have a built-in audience, us.
we will go see the movie 4 times in the first day even if there is no teaser, it doesnt need the usual hoopla, all the advertisement they need is right here, we pine over the movie and they save boatloads of money on promotion.
it’s not like nobody knows theres gonna be a new HP movie.
Still, more excited about Potter though. I like that there is no trailer. I want the movie to be a total surprise. Maybe the pictures released were the teaser. Though not a trailer it still teased us. hehe
Also, true HP fans aren’t going to lose interest because they have to wait a few more weeks for a teaser trailer. If anything, trailers make me even more impatient for the movie! I think the pictures are fun and it’s exciting to guess how it’ll all come together. Patience is a virtue for sure – and I think all HP fans know how to practice patience. :o)
To all the WB apologists out there let me tell you this… You say WB does not owe us anything? Are you serious? I will tell you what they owe us:
They owe us their corporate jets… their Rolls Royces, and Bentleys, their Hollywood mansions, their reserved tables at Spagos, their wives boob jobs and face lifts, or husbands enlargement surgeries, Their kids private school tuition’s, and their dental work, etc, etc, etc… You tell us to get real?... HAH!!! you get real… Without the movie going public there IS no WB… We support them…. Have you heard of the saying that one should never bite the hand that feeds you?
I didn’t think david yates could get any worse but it looks like i was wrong! GODDAMNIT! I’m so effing sick of people nagging and crying about how “bad” David Yates is. He is NOT bad. He is NOT terrible and he did NOT get “worse”. He was never “worse” anyway! I think a lot of people are just pissed off at how OOTP was put together. Maybe your favorite scene wasn’t in there, maybe some parts were cut, who the freak cares? You have the damn book! & it’s not all up to Yates to do this – he didn’t just say “Oh, let’s cut this part out on purpose to make those die-hard fans pissed off! Oh yay, I’m so flipping excited!” I’m pretty sure cuts have to do with the writer, and blah blah blah! So to the people who are pissed off at Yates, shut up.
As for the trailer, I was very impatient when I heard about this news, but now, I don’t really care all that much when we get one. I’m pretty sure we’ll get one soon, or by the end of this summer maybe. So I’m not all that pissed off. We’ll see a trailer when we see a trailer.
The books didn’t come with trailers but we didn’t lose interest then. So what’s the difference? Haha. Good point. =)
Won_Two, I don’t see how they are biting our hands? They are just trying to get us more excited. Maybe they want this one to be a huge surprise for all the fans. Maybe they are trying to do US a favor. Though saying a trailer will be out with every movie, not so much though they didn’t say that at all. It was an assumption that there would be a trailer because all movies have trailers. Harry Potter is so different from all movies. It is so much more important and special. Next time you get mad just think, “Maybe they are doing US a favor.”
It looks to like there are some fans here who would benefit from anger management classes. Most of us are able to come here and vent about our personal opinions (for good or bad) about the films, the director, the changes, the lack of a trailer, too many trailers or whatever without going off the deep end, but a few, like Christine above, are having a little trouble. I will repost something I wrote on a different news comments section:
I believe that everyone on here is an HP fan. Let’s stop bashing each other. The people who are unhappy about the changes they make for the films have every right to come here and complain about it, that is what the comments are FOR. Commentary. Opinion. If you are NOT unhappy about the changes, this is also the spot to come say so. The two points of view do not have to agree. But telling someone who disagrees with you that they need to grow up, stop whining or get a life, or that they are being stupid, childish, idiotic, mean, whatever, has no place here. Just say you disagree. Secondly, whichever side of the issue you are on, if you can’t express yourself without resorting to foul language or name-calling, please keep it to yourself. Thanks.
So, Christine, not to single you out, but as yours is the post on this particular page (there are plenty of others like it, though, on both sides of the issue), I am very glad that you are fine with waiting for the trailer and happy with David Yates and his directorial style. There are others here, whose opinion is JUST AS valid as yours, who disagree about waiting and want to vent, or who disagree with your opinion about Yates to various degrees. Some people, like me, think he did an OK job on some parts and really fell down on others. Some people hate everything he did. A lot of them. And they have their reasons. Telling them to “shut up” is inappropriate.
BTW, the process of determining what goes into a film and what gets cut is a collaborative one and the director is indeed heavily involved. In fact, he has the final say. So, if Yates wanted a scene in OoTP that wasn’t in the script, he would go to the writer and say, “Write me this scene.” If there was a scene in the script that he did NOT want in the film, he would go to the writer and say, “Lose me this scene.” That is why the directors get the big bucks, the big award categories and all the acclaim when a film does well and most of the blame when it does not.
So, when an HP fan goes to see an HP movie and is unhappy with how it turned out, the first one in line for the blame is the director. Like it or not. Screenwriter second.
I am not sure who to blame for the lack of a trailer. However, I have come to believe that it is a deliberate decision, it is part of their plan. Whether we will like the end result of that plan or not I can’t say, but I am sure it is not because they don’t want to give us a trailer or that there is a hang up with producing one, because those kinds of things are never kept quiet. Someone would have leaked it if there were trouble behind the scenes. So, irked or not, I’ll wait. :)
LemonFaerie u make a really good point
im part of the crew that doesn’t like david yates and there just opinions so no need for christine going off at anyone next time if you just want to go off at people who don’t like david yatess don’t bother writing comments at all.
Can’t they just give us the trailer and have done with it?!! I mean, all this anticipation is almost worse than not getting a trailer at all! One vague hope comes up, only to be swallowed whole by another more promising rumor that dies out after a few days. Make something concrete for once, WB!
"Oh don't mind me!" the Fat Lady called irritably after them. "Don't apologize for bothering me! I'll just hang here, wide open, until you get back, shall I?"[br]"Yeah, thanks!" Ron shouted over his shoulder.
hmmmmm lets look at the poll now, people. Not released in front of any of these movies.Whos mad? I AM!!!!!!
