Bad News: No "Half-Blood Prince" Teaser Trailer with New Batman Movie

It would seem our streak of good news has come to an end, as Coming Soon.com is reporting today they have confirmed the trailers that will be shown before the new Batman film, “The Dark Knight,” and a teaser trailer for “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” is NOT among those listed. Putting an end to the earlier rumors that at long last we might see a teaser trailer for the sixth Harry Potter film, Coming Soon also speculates that they believe it might be shown as late as August 15, in front of “Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” however that is unconfirmed at this time. So its back to the waiting and guessing time again folks, sorry!

Thanks Lewis and Nigel!

I have officially given up on the trailer. I’m just telling myself there isn’t going to be one anymore.

we have to understand that postproduction takes time… has the complete edit even been finished yet?.... I would rather wait a bit longer for a nice trailer than a rush job that may misrepresent the movie. (haven’t we all seen trailers with scenes that do not make it to the final movie… and would you not feel equally disapointed for missing a prospective scene) we all know how it ends…the kisses and the tears will be there… but just as they came in their own time… so will the trailer.

has anyone also noted that there is no website for the movie yet? no pics (even those already released) no friendly countdown widget… (just imaged the game having birds attacking Ron… geez i’m random) I just hope they bring back Wood for the last battle… that would be a kick.

August? Wtf? Too long.

Okay, i’m not believing ANY rumours about the trailer. I guess you should just go and see lots of films in the cinema that are the same certificate, and you might be suprised. It might come on.

lolol. I’m guessing HBP will be 12a, so just go see lots of 12a films. (not sure what it is in America, but here in the Uk, it’ll be a 12a)

Well, I’m not defending WB anymore. I had been giving them the benefit of the doubt because I truly believed Dark Knight would have been the best way to spark interest in the movie. To me, WB really blew it. You have the biggest movie of the summer, and you’re not even hyping your biggest winter movie of this year in front of it? I just don’t understand this? Are they struggling to cut a trailer? Do they think we just don’t care? Is HBP THAT bad?

From a marketing stand point, this makes no sense. I’m very disapointed.

Maybe ComicCon is our only hope for this summer. Unless WB wants to release a trailer in front of Clone Wars, or something? Or, like others have said, maybe we just won’t get a teaser.

Guys, it’s offical, WB hates us. And they like seeing us pull our hair out over not getting trailers (I’m not the only one doing that, right?).

This whole deal reminds me of At Worlds End another movie that took forever to get it’s trailer released..

What is the point at releasing a teaser at that point? They’ll be getting ready to start showing tv spots by that time. Good grief!!! It is the biggest mistake for it not to be with the Dark Knight. It’s one of the Summer’s most highly anticipated movies. The have the best possible movie under there own banner to release it with-since the Harry Potter movies themselves are released too far apart- but do they? No! AHHHHH!!!! OK… I feel better. But release it soon, preferably before the movie opens.

I have a feeling that they’ll release it when we least expect it- say, next week or this Sunday or something. Just as long as they release it in the next two months I’ll be happy. I’m not getting mad at WB for not putting a trailer with a movie that I only want to see for the Joker. I will get mad, however, if they fail to release it before August 31. September = too late.

Also, the title of the article on ComingSoon.com has a question mark at the ned of it. So maybe they aren’t sure.

I HATE WB! This totally sucks. The other trailers shown are for movies coming out in 2009!!!!!!!!!!!! This movie is coming out in 2008, in 4 months, and these people of WB dont seem to realize that a trailer is WAY Overdue. This is so fustrating, and also makes NO SENSE!!!!!!!

I think this is all a scheme to get all the harry potter fans to go see all the other WB movies expecting a teaser trailer…. then they get our money!!! Just kidding. I’m soo tired of waiting…ARRG WB!!!!

Maybe the trailer is out (at movie theaters where the film is delivered) and it is so good and all the movie theater employees are secretly watching it over and over and keeping it to themselves lol.

You know what….Im really not dissapointed. Im not a big batman fan or star wars fan…dont tell my brother, he lives for star wars! I dont want to sit through a long movie I really dont want to see in the first place. I’d be happy if it were in front of the Mummy 3. Im looking foward to the day when Leaky announces that WB has a set date for the trailers release! It’s all part of the Harry Potter magic. Stop getting your hopes up, the movie doesnt come out until November, dont expect the trailer for another month or so.

Kerri has a point, waiting and getting mad IS all part of the magic of fandom

this is just ridiculous, why do they keep putting it off? first they said it would come out with Caspian in May, and now, about 2 months later, they say it’ll come out in August. I truly think that showing it before the batman movie would have been perfect, but it’s they’re problem if us fans are sick of waiting and don’t want to go see the trailer and the theatre anymore. Oh well…
