"Twilight" Film Moves Into "Half-Blood Prince" Release Date

A number of media outlets are tonight reporting that after the recent announcement by Warner Bros. that the sixth film, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, would be pushed back to a July 17, 2009 theatrical release, a decision was made by Summit Entertainment to move the release date for the upcoming “Twilight” film up to the now vacated date of November 21, 2008. The BBC has a report online which notes the recent ‘frenzy’ that was caused during the publication of the forth and final book in the series as one of the factors in this decision. News of this move for “Twilight,” which stars Harry Potter actor Robert Pattinson (Cedric Diggory), also made it over to MTV which quotes Rob Friedman from Summit Entertainment as saying they saw “a unique opportunity to slot in our film, which has been gaining tremendous awareness and momentum over the past several months.”
“Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” will now have its release on July 17, 2009.
Hey guys! I am a HUGE HP fan, but I also Love Twilight. I think this war between HP and Twilight fans is so dumb. Both book series are so amazing and good! You can’t compare the two, its not possible. They are too different, yet they both have helped so many children to read.
Both HP and Twilight fans are intelligent people that shouldn’t allow the media to drag them into this “BOOK WAR” don’t you guys realize we are being used!
I wont mention names, but this week alone, one online media oulet had over 3000 in less than 2 hours thanks to HP and Twilight fans fighting. That’s tons of money in their pockets! I say HP and Twilight fans can agree to disagree, I say we can learn to co-exist. We don’t have to be “in love” with each other, but PLEASE! Lets band together and not allow the media to use us like that! It makes me so angry to know that they are probably reading all our angry posts and laughing…. thinking of ways to fuel the “BOOK WAR” so they can write more articles and get more hits on their sites and get more $$ at our expense. Come on HP and Twilight brothers and sisters!!! We are all smart people don’t allow these Media places use us to make big money… We are smarter than that!!!!

HOW DARE WB! HOW DARE THEY MOVE TWILIGHT UP TO THE EXACT SAME DAY AND THEN HAVE THE NERVE TO SAY THAT TWILIGHT IS NOT “FILLING HARRY POTTER’S SHOES!” IT’S THE EXACT SAME DAY, FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! IF THEY WANTED TO MOVE UP THE TWILIGHT MOVIE, FINE! JUST DON’T MOVE IT TO THE EXACT DAY THAT HALFBLOOD PRINCE WAS SUPPOSED TO COME OUT! THAT JUST SCREAMS “WE THINK TWILIGHT IS THER NEXT HARRY POTTER, AND THEREFORE ITS OKAY TO REPLACE THE SIXTH HARRY POTTER MOVIE WITH THE TWILIGHT MOVIE.” THIS JUST REALLY TICKS ME OFF.
In my opinion, the Twilight book wasnt very good. Sure the movie MIGHT be better, but im not going to see untill it premires on Starz. HP however i will go see that 100 times in the theater!! And I’ll buy it when it comes out (of course) and watch it even more!! Ha take that twilight!!
I am happy for Twilight and i am mad because they move HP. Oh well i love both series…so. By the way is so annoying reading people insulting T because what WB did. lol I guess not everyone can be open minded and impartial. Oh and yes many hate or whatever BD but even with DH some were hating too, so i dont mind haters of books. Haters of books are people that cannot accept that the stories werent wrote for them .
