As many readers know, Terminus 2008, the Harry Potter conference, recently took place in Chicago, Illinois last week. MTV now has new video of this as well as a new piece about Harry Potter wizard rock and “Twilight” rock bands now article online, featuring a host of interviews with some of the Wizarding rock bands who played at the Wrock Chicago event. Interviews include clips from The Remus Lupins, Harry and the Potters, Draco and the Malfoys, The Moaning Myrtles, and more. In the video, which you can see via this link, there is also some great footage and music from these bands along with The Whomping Willows, The Mudbloods, Mark (aka Voldemort from the Ministry of Magic), the Parselmouths and others spreading the musical word of Potter and raising the roof in Chicago (or in this case, almost causing it to fall on the people in the room below) Enjoy!

UPDATEThe video is now available in our video galleries, via this link.

Unfortunately, I can’t see the video because of copyright not allowing them to show it in the UK. Bah. Here’s to hoping someone YouTubes it?

Ahh, Terminus sounds like it was great. I wish I could’ve gone!

But that article, MTV is really starting to anger me with all of this Harry Potter vs. Twilight rubbish. It’s just stirring more unnecessary conflict between the two fandoms, and frankly, I used to be a Twilight fan but this entire thing has really turned me off to the fandom. I really could care less about it anymore. But I find it hilarious that Twilight is starting their own “Twi-rock” genre. Didn’t see that coming, but it’s not entirely surprising.

Twi-rock? *snorts. That’s ridiculous. No offense to Twilight fans – but that’s just wrong. Go Wizard Rock! WOO!

The Vampire didn’t bite me. But hey, if Twi-Rock works for their fans like Wizard Rock does for us, more power to them! Maybe it will encourage someone to pick up another book or write some poetry or set something to music. Imagine, encouraging creativity.

I respect the Twilight community. There is no big fude, there may be indivuduals who don’t like it but honestly it’s not some big fude. WE DON’T HATE YOU TWILIGHTERS!!!! Honestly I think twilight is nothing compared to HP but they can do their Twi-rock or whatever, doesn’t but me.

Twi-rock? Are you f**ing shtting me? I respect the Twilight fanbase, but they will NEVER be like Harry Potter, and trying to copy it with this ‘twi-rock’ crap is just offensive.

Leave it to Ministry of Magic to suggest someone start the Edward and the Cullens Twi-band! Hm, wonder if Sims would be interested?

The video interview was great, but the article suck. Way to put the fandoms against each other. Like we need that. The weapon we have is love. Please, don’t fall in the trap. I can’t even read the comments at MTV.com. Ridiculous. Someone called Alex Carpenter a racist! LOL. My goodness. Why does MTV did this and not make it only about Wrock?
