Additional information is now online today, regarding tickets for the UK “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” Royal and European Premiere November 17th, 2008 in London, England. As we reported previously, The Royal Film Performance 2008 is sponsored by the Cinema & Television Benevolent Fund, a charity which benefits the UK film and TV industries, with members of the Royal family due to attend the event. With the information today, this marks the first time tickets are being made available to a Harry Potter movie premiere. The charity website has now been updated regarding these various ticket prices, including a rare opportunity to purchase advertising for the commemorative booklet, which will also give you the chance to purchase tickets for four to attend the Premiere and private post party event with the Royal family, as well as members of the HBP cast and crew. Tickets for this are extremely limited, and cost £7,000 ($14,000 USD). A package involving tickets for two is set at £4800. For more on these options, click here.
Other ticket options include a red-carpet event, with screening of the sixth Harry Potter film at an “Adjoining Cinema” of the Royal event, will cost £200 ($400 USD per person), a smaller screen “Adjoining Cinema” for 175, with these tickets due on sale August 8. Two other opportunities for this event include a “Near Simultaneous Screening” which takes place an hour later for £60 ($120 USD), and a “Late Night Screening” which takes place after the Main Royal Premiere, at £25 ($50 USD) with tickets for these two events due to become available starting September 8th.
Holy cow…$14,000! Still, I d be happy sleeping in the UK rain on a cold night just to glimpse the lovley Dan Radcliffe! And the handsome Jason Issacs! Id be a drooling fool!
I’m glad HBP had been chosen for this Event, but the price is exagerated. Also the alternatives they are offering.
I am happy to see the movie here in Mexico for $7,- on IMAX screen, We normaly get it the same date as in US.
Anyway for me the books are much more important than the movies, so I am not in a great hurry to see HBP, I din’t liked the trailer with the Riddle kid
Its selling advertising guys! not just tickets, you have to have something to place in the programme! like services or some such thing! Basically u buy the advertising and know celebs and the royla family will see it and they give you tickets as a thank you! its not for average joes to buy!
Er, I don’t know if people noticed, but for the people who are grumbling about the expensive pricing of £7,000 ($14,000 USD) and £4800—it’s for ADVERTISERS ONLY on the Official Commemorative Brochure. You’re placing an ad for your company…marketing opportunity = $$$.
General Screenings are between £25 and £200…. I’d go to the £25 late night showing if I was in the UK…
I’m holding out for a member of the Royal Family or the stars of the show to have a weird dream and be compelled to find me and invite me as their guest! Or if I’m really lucky I could win the lottery but the odds are pretty slim on that.
wow…tht’s a lot of money!!i suppose-main cast attend-it’s their movie and the royals too..but it’s really too expensive for many fans to go,unless they’re rich!luckily the red carpet one is much more affordable..and isnt some stuffy/royal attended event!
bet the post party-cast/royals is gonna be such a proper affair..at least till the royals..’leave’...lol.then i bet the potter stars will really let go!
I will purchase my tickets straightaway. I am not ashamed to admit that 14 grand is nothing but a penny to my family. I think I’ll stay over there for a month get some sights in. jk Seriously even if I could afford to get a ticket I very much doubt I would, not for that price. What can I say I have always be sort of frugal when it comes to some things no way would I ever pay 14 grand to see a movie, not even Harry Potter.
OMG – even though I live in the UK I can’t go but I wish I had Harry’s invisabiity cloak then I could sneak in!! I wanna go so badly – like everyone else is saying I’ll just go and see all the spare cash I have in my vault :p (that’s soooo unfair!)
I guess I’ll just have to watch the premiere on youtube! And go and see the film in cineworld with my poor friends!
"But, dear, if he got lost, how would we ever explain to his aunt and uncle?"[br]"They wouldn't mind," Harry reassured her. "Dudley would think it was a brilliant joke if I got lost up a chimney, don't worry about that --"
