At the recent National Movie Awards, actress Emma Watson made very brief comments to reporters on the red carpet regarding the delay of “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.” In this video via YouTube, Emma can be heard saying what while she feels they have done the right thing for the movie, she also appeared sympathetic as she noted it was terrible that fans don’t get an installment in the series this year and that the suspense will make it even better once we get to see it. Emma has also updated her blog at her official website noting how much fun she had at the movie awards. You can see photos of Emma at the event here in our image galleries, new photos at her official site taken by her father, and additional videos of Emma at the awards ceremony via our Order parter Emma-Watson.net.
shame that we know she’s only saying what she knows she has to, she has to defend WBs decision doesn’t she.
nice to see she knows how to say things unlike alan horn. maybe she should have made the public apology instead then i bet they would have recieved half the amount of complaints alan horn got.
stupid idiot.
I don’t understand why you people have been blabbing about what you think about her outfit rather than commenting on the article…no offense, though!! As much as I love Emma Watson, it does sound a bit like something the Warner Brothers would say. But I guess you have to appreciate the fact that she is sympathetic for us fans…anyways….bye!!
Don’t mistake my concern about the film as meaning I’m not open minded. I approach every Potter film with an open mind, because I know that some changes have to be made in order to turn a lengthy novel into a 2 hour film. I am not a “purist” who is going to nit-pick every little detail of the film, but I am concerned that they are changing things that will make it a less than enjoyable experience.
ok, am I the only one who can’t find the video? I think it moved since yesterday. does anyone have an updated link?

I am not upset that WB’s decided to postpone the Half Bored Ponce movie until next year since I will not be seeing it and the Deathly Halitocis Twin bill. I do not wish to see the deconstruction of the Light side forces especially the Harry & Hermione charaters in favor of forgiving the dark side’s transgressions. Watching Hermione lose 100 IQ points and Harry’s fall from a wizard who can cast aside over 100 dementors to near squib like performance in the last cannon book is just not our cup of tea.
Don’t get me wrong – My wife and I Love what JKR created. We have both the Scholastic and Bloombury editions ot all 7 books including the first 2 charity booklets and the Jim Dale’s Audiobooks. It was such a joy to see when Book 1 came out and ALL of the school kids in our Co-op were READING the book while we were all heading to work/school in the morning in the elevator. Prior to this they were mostly playing with their handheld games. The charaterization portraied in the first 5 books, especially Emma’s as a strong, intelligent young girl to young lady was such a great role model in our opinion for all of the young girls out there.
But the plotholes throughout the series kind of killed our adore by the end of book 5. We pushed foward on 6 & 7 hoping that the good ship Potterverse would right itself but alas it was not to be…Our exposure to Harry Potter FanFiction Online world have given us stories that have shown us how great the series could have become to the level of The Lord of the Rings and Narnia stories, to name just a few…these unpaid Fic writers have our admirations and thanks…
Ed Black- can you put a spoiler warning in your post if you’re going to talk about the HBP review please!! I purposely didn’t read it so I could wait until the film to see what’s been added in/left out..
It’s not like Emma would be able to say anything else.. Though I doubt WB would sack her if she did say something against them!
Back in the days of the big movie studios, it was in the actor’s contract that they had to promote the film they were in. They weren’t paid for it, either.
That’s why you never hear any actor express doubts about the success/greatness of a film they were in. And they are probably warned off commenting on business decisions the studio makes. They’re actors, not corporate moguls.
But you do sometimes hear it later! :)
Who do you think will be first to write a book about it in a few years? My money’s on Dan.

I wrote a message to WB via their site and they rejected it as spam! I didn’t write anything bad in it =(, just because I wrote “Half Blood Prince” as part of the message. How annoying can they get? Oh God.
