Bloomsbury, the UK publishers of the Harry Potter novels by J.K. Rowling, has announced they are re-releasing two of the companion books this summer: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Quidditch Through the Ages. Due to be released July 31, 2009, you can see here in our galleries the new artwork for Fantastic Beasts, and the new Quidditch cover art here.

The Bookseller cites a spokesperson for Bloomsbury as saying :”There are always new Harry Potter readers coming to the series each
year who will be looking for other exciting things to read.” According to the article the two books “will again raise funds for the charity with £1.15 from each £4.99 title sold going to Comic Relief.” “Previous
editions of the book were published in a slim format similar to the £1
World Book Day books but the latest editions will be chunkier versions
comprising 128 rather than 96 pages, including the original
illustrations. So far, according to Nielsen BookScan, Fantastic Beasts has sold 509,473 copies while Quidditch has sold 491,853.”

Avatar ImagetaystarHP says: That is so cool but I prefer the old ones. I love the originals!Avatar ImageJaymie Brooks says: Now their cover art matches the Tales of Beedle the Bard's! Hopefully that means that Jo is planning on making more of these little Hogwarts Library Books in the future.Avatar Imagehermyone08 says: Awesome! Hopefully this gets more people buying those two books! Because they're really great! :)Avatar Imagehermyone08 says: I would love to read and own more Hogwarts school books! I wish they would be written! :)Avatar ImageStarlysh says: Cool! I still have to get those books. I like the Fantastic Beasts one.Avatar Imagephoenixes are in ravenclaw says: They are pretty cool! I like them both! I don't like that the Fantastic Bests and where to find them has the hogwarts emblem on it, cause it isn't a specific book just for Hogwarts! But, all in all they are sweet!Avatar ImageProfessor Cassandra says: So cool!!! I wonder if Jo is going to add anything to the books???Avatar ImageLivelaughlovepotter says: I def want that book!!!! Avatar ImageNiphai says: Wow, there are 28 more pages! I don't really like the cover art, but I like more canon xDAvatar ImageLivelaughlovepotter says: I don't have the book at all, but I do think I like the originals Avatar Imagewandmastercalum says: These look great but too bad my parents would never let me buy a book I've already got just because the covers changed. I love cool covers!!! This is a cool cover!Avatar ImageVideoKID says: love the originals but i will buy the new ones :) the artwork looks so Cool.Avatar ImageMr. Brightside says: Oh, no i don't even have the originals. And i was planning to get them on summer. Man...Avatar ImageR-for-H says: Wow!! They look cool... I'll buy the new ones too!!Avatar ImageBeAchL0veEr05 says: Just got the originals like 2 weeks ago... ironic :/ maybe I'll get the new ones, but why have Newt Scamander & J.K. Rowling's name on the cover? jwAvatar Imageavrenim says: i haven't read either book.. but i just looked at the new and old covers and i definitely like the old ones better.Avatar Imagenicole 313 says: Oooh, I like them. I'll have to buy them to gor with the HP books 1-7 and Beedle the Bard.Avatar Imagehannah abbot says: i wasn't really a potter fan when the originals came out :( so i'm really looking foward to getting them!!! i'm glad money is still going to comic relief :) i actually quite like the old ones.. because inside them theres like every hogwarts student who has taken in out of the library :) and it looks more genuimne hogawarts !! because it doesn't have j.k rowling's name on. but the new ones look good anyway :)Avatar ImagetaystarHP says: I juts saw again more closly and why have Newt Scamander & J.K. Rowling’s names are both on the cover! And Kennilworthy and J.K.Rowling?Avatar ImageCrazy4Neville says: this is great! i always wanted to buy a copy of these books.. never got around to.. =( but now since their re-releasing it with a new cover i've GOT to get these ones! this is awesome i can't wait!Avatar Imageomgitslouise says: I can't wait to get another copy of them :] I love reading these books every so often, and the new covers are nice :]Avatar ImageThe Hollow says: I think I'll pass on these books. First, I don't live in the UK, and second, the other versions look better. I'm sure they still have Harry, Hermione, and Ron's written comments in the Fantastic Beasts book, but I've stopped going goo-goo over comments about extra content that usually aren't much to go crazy over. I'd rather have the Scottish Book or some sort of new Jo creation instead.Avatar Imagelunaspec_gimmy says: I'll definitely be getting these, gutted I lost my original copies! £1 to £4.99 is like wtf though. :/Avatar Imageraven_puff says: Those new covers are great! I still like the originals though. The new Quidditch Through the Ages cover isn't too different. The biggest difference is that the new one is blue.Avatar Imagephantomdave79 says: they wouldn't come up for me. Just error messages.Avatar Imagebecmajec says: yay! i've been trying to find these but i couldn't. excellentAvatar ImageHorcruxalej says: I need to get these books im going to boarders today to buy a new book but which one Fantastic Beasts? or Quidditch Through the Ages? Avatar ImageDoodlePuff1 says: I WANT THOSE DANG BOOKS! NOW!?!?!?!Avatar ImageJersey says: I guess I'll just have to buy these again. Oh well it's for a worthy cause.Avatar ImageCrazyChlojo says: of course I like the new editions better than the copies i have... :PAvatar ImagePhlegm De La Coeur says: the "Fantastic Beasts" looks awesome! I wonder if Scholastic will release them for north america...or i'll have to find some friends in the UK!Avatar Imagecheeserpleaser says: The new cover is fantastic. Too bad it costs too much to import it into the United States.Avatar Imagebookishgal says: Great artwork!Avatar Imagemhaeyemhaeye says: Awesome!Avatar Imagemhaeyemhaeye says: And I want a copy of those even though I already have the original ones. :DAvatar Imagecheekysnake09 says: AH. I want the new covers! I still haven't gotten Quidditch Through the Ages yet though. :/Avatar ImageShalanarah says: i love the old ones. Those seem like real books straight from Hogwarts but these new ones are just like additional books from JK. Tho i'll buy them anyway! :)Avatar ImageAccioSarah says: I'm thrilled! I've been waiting to buy them both, and I'll be waiting for the new ones. Huzzah!Avatar ImageAnnie says: COOL! I don't have a copy of either, so I can get them now. Which ones is the one with the comments from Ron and Harry?Avatar Imagegoodenough says: That's really cool! Hopefully they will realsase them in Norway to, so I can get hold of them in english. I don't actually have them, and it makes me feel like a failed fan :( Avatar Imageannamel says: I liked them, they are somewhat traditional and they now match the Bard's cover, which is also a plus. Avatar Imagevandy says: I don't like this cover much.. I mean the old one was more realistic... Avatar Imageele0206 says: Awesome covers!Avatar ImageFleur-de- Lily says: So coolAvatar ImageWolfheart says: Does anyone know if they're going to be released separately? I have Fantastic Beasts, but I can't find a copy of Quidditch Through the Ages by itself anywhere!Avatar ImageWendelin the Weird says: Wow! I don't have Quidditch Through the Ages either, so I definitely getting that one… Avatar ImageHappy_Orange says: Aww I have to get them too now heheee. I do think that it spoils it a bit by having JK as well as "Newt Scamander" Hmm suppose you've gotta' put it there so people know she wrote it :/Avatar Imagestevenk12468 says: I wish the U.S. would come out with new cover art for these two AWESOME books. Avatar Imagejoelface says: Yay! New Potter books to buy. I've had the others since the day they were released so I'm excited for the new spiffy coverart!Avatar ImageJustSuperMione says: I'm TOTALLY getting these... since moving away from home I can't find my orginal ones... the publishers are trying to do another Beetle the Bard cos - lets face it - they could end up doing just as well!Avatar ImageJennie Rae Urban says: I likes 'em!Avatar Imagepenni_cent says: If they are from Bloomsbury, does that mean they're only available in the UK or can American's get them too?Avatar Imageweasleyalltheway says: i already own them but thats awesome :DAvatar Imagesaffran says: Cool!Avatar ImageDanielleD says: can't wait!!Avatar Imagefloridianhp says: i need it!!Avatar ImageGarden State Geek says: Wow. I guess I'm going to be shelling out some more cash. Avatar Imagesiriuslysirius11 says: good, it'll be an excuse to buy them agin... not that I wouldn't anyway.Avatar ImageWeasleyRavenclaw says: Harry's B-day!! I've had my US editions since i was 7...thats 7 years now!! Avatar ImagemOOn-stArs-sUn says: That's cool, but I liked the originals. I'm going to get these, though, so that way I can have both versions. . . . And I'll have a reason to buy more HP related books :)Avatar ImageHGROSS44 says: thanks JKR it will be good to have them out again updated.Avatar ImageHeavenly_Horcrux says: I would buy these!Avatar Imagelumosshimmy says: I love the originals, but these new ones are so graphically-pleasing! I like "from the world of Harry Potter"; maybe these will stir up interest in those few people who haven't read them yet? I'm just glad that these great books are getting more attention.Avatar Imagetreebeliever says: I love these! Maybe I'll finally purchase them.Avatar Imagegrandmabeth says: Oh good! I've worn mine out!Avatar Imagemaimiaa says: i still have to get these. aghhh lol, they looks so awesome.
