There is a small new mention today of actress Helen McCrory who will be seen as Narcissa Malfoy, mother of Draco, wife of Lucius and sister to Bellatrix Lestrange in the upcoming Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. In the know columnist Baz Bamigboye for the Daily Mail reports that Helen and the other Helen, Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix) had some fun while filming for HBP, noting ” the pair enjoyed scaring fellow cast members and giving the crew a double fright.” The brief article also states that indeed that acclaimed stage actress McCrory will return in her role as Narcissa for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Readers will recall of course, the dramatic and pivotal decision Narcissa makes at the end of the book. Quotage from The Daily Mail: “Ms McCrory will also feature in Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows,
which is shooting until next year – although she will find time this
summer to portray Cherie Blair opposite (as this column revealed)
Michael Sheen as one T. Blair, plus Dennis Quaid and Julianne Moore as
Bill and Hillary Clinton, in Peter Morgan’s The Special Relationship.”

Avatar ImageKennedyJames says: Well that's good news. I think i'm going to like her in this movie, the way she looked in the trailer <3 YAY!!!! Omg, they must be a fright those two with their costumes and their hair and their demeanor, damnstraight.Avatar ImageStefanM94 says: Great news, at least we can hope they will include the scene between harry and Narcissa when harry destroys the last horcrux :) i dont remeber her having much else to do in book 7 tho...Avatar ImageKatetheKeeper says: This is good news. I love it when the actors continue their roles throughout the movies.Avatar ImageJS297206 says: She didn't have too much else, more of a background character in the opening scene at the manor, and then the later scene with the trio at the manor and then her pivotal choice at the end. She looks fantastic as Narcissa... On another note do we know if they cast anyone in the role of Andromeda?Avatar ImageHarryRichardsPotter says: Yeah, when she whispers "is my son still alive" and Harry says "yes". She helps him. So really SHES the real hero, bless her. Avatar Imagemoglet says: Well the news is coming thick and fast today, if they had tried to film DH without Narcissa I would have been quite cross, such an important moment when she lied to Voldemort as her love for her son gave her the strength to defy him, once again demonstrating the importance of a mother's love and actually giving us another Slytherin who ultimately helped to defeat Voldemort.Avatar ImageDobbyandWinky says: That will be greatAvatar Imagelilhpchick20 says: That is exciting to hearAvatar ImageLivelaughlovepotter says: I dunno much about her acting... looks kind of like Narcissa, not how I imagined though. I'm not a big fan of the brown streak... Anyway I'm sure she'll be great! There are NO Harry Potter actors that are cast and stink :]!!!Avatar Imagemhaeyemhaeye says: Well... I think that is expected since we need Narcissa in DH and it would be a bit annoying if we another actor playing her. :)Avatar Imagebudgie says: It still seems strange to have an actor "back" for another movie when we haven't seen her in her first appearance.Avatar Imagesaffran says: It´s good with continuity.Avatar ImageStefanM94 says: i agree with "Live Laugh Love Potter" as i expected Narcissa to look a bit...younger, although she definitely isint going to stink!!! :DAvatar Imagephantomdave79 says: I love it whenthe actors keep coming back. It keeps continuity for me. I can't wait to see her portrayal of Narcissa.Avatar Imagemaera-kyrie says: Can't get really excited at this point because we've not seen her yet, but at least she hasn't decided to quit and not finish it out. It's generally best to keep the originals and not switch out actors, I think.Avatar ImageeiVega says: I think it's so funny that the two "sisters" like to scare everybody. That's awesome! It's hilarious. :)Avatar ImageAbiDumbledore says: Hope the forest scene is good! Look forward to seeing her in HBP!Avatar ImageHeavenly_Horcrux says: From what I've heard, she's pretty good as Narcissa.Avatar ImageJustSuperMione says: Yay I lobe that Helen and Helena got on so well - should make the movies BRILLIANT!Avatar ImageMoon Lyra says: Good to know! It's the best to keep the original casts in the movie, in my opinion.Avatar Imagecheeserpleaser says: I am pleased to hear that she is returning. Though I have not seen her perform the character in full yet, it seems safe to say, based on the footage we have seen in the trailers, that she will capture and reflect the character well. I am positive that she can convey her psychological dispositions and anxieties with a precision that will astonish us as fans.Avatar Imagebmg057 says: Thats exciting glad that are going to keep the same person form hbp and deathly hallowsAvatar Imagecallicott3 says: Well, with only two movies left, after this one, it would only make sense to keep the same actor! Keeps the continuity!Avatar ImageAvangelis says: i hope she plays her part wellAvatar Imagefloridianhp says: thats great..she looks old kinda..Avatar Imagefantasylover12001 says: I haven't seen her act yet, so I don't know if this is good or not. But yay for continuity purposes I guess. On an unrelated note, I'm not sure how I feel about this Dennis Quaid playing Bill Clinton thing...Avatar Imagemish149 says: I'm really getting excited with all this news that keeps coming in :D Why are they having Bill Clinton in it? Avatar Imagestevenk12468 says: I've not seen this woman act, but usually the people Cast for Harry Potter are excellent. Much consideration and time goes into picking the actors and actresses. I'm sure she will be great. I hope anyway. Avatar Imagebadger666 says: Well I'm glad they're keeping the same actress, but I hope she's good. Obviously, we can't judge her yet. I still don't like how she looks, but whatever.Avatar ImageGarden State Geek says: I'm eager to see her performance in HBP! Avatar Imagecghambright says: AWESOME!!! Hopefully that means all the Malfoy Manor stuff will be in there....like the opening scene with the muggle studies teacher. Avatar ImageIlzairspar says: does anyone else find the photo of her as Narcissa a little...odd. Maybe it's just me but the two toned hair just isn't how I pictured her. Eh...that sort of thing doesn't matter as long as she acts like the character.Avatar ImageNot Slytherin says: I. Can't. WAIT!!!!Avatar ImageBeatrice Alice Potter says: Yeah, i'm fine with how she looks up until that brown streak running across her head o.OAvatar ImagemOOn-stArs-sUn says: I'm glad they're keeping the same Narcissa, and I really hope I like her in HBP so that way I wouldn't have to endure another movie with an actress I don't like. But she looked good in the preview so. . . . Avatar ImageJersey says: She has the right look for Narcissa but they make her look a little too old in the trailer. And I agree .... we can't do DH without her. But can anyone tell me why Robbie Coltrane is still not listed in the cast for DH??Avatar Imageshellybasson says: She looks FREAKY!Avatar Imageshellybasson says: She looks FREAKY!Avatar Imageshellybasson says: Oops! How did that happen - i suppose i think she looks VERY creepy...Avatar Imagehermyone08 says: Well, that's really good that she will be back for Deathly Hallows as she just started the films and we need her to be back to play Narcissa for DH! :)Avatar Imagenyteflite says: cool. cant wait to see how she actsAvatar ImageRosalieRickman says: I bet Helena loved her new friend, and Helen McCrory...well..... I pictured her to be the mirror image of Bellatrix but blonde and more...Malfoy-like. She looks a bit too much older than Bella, who is the oldest of Andromeda and Narcissa. That picture to me doesn't really do her any justice, so we'll all have to wait for the movie, which was moved by Warner Brothers to July FIFTEENTH instead of the seventeenth! Two days before it was scheduled!!!1 The new trailer made me want to march up to WB headquarters and demand and early showing.Avatar ImageRosalieRickman says: She sort of looks a bit like McGonagall's sister! Ha, if she had one, which I'm unsure of.Avatar ImageGinnywobbles says: It sounds like she's an excellent actress, but I do agree with their original idea of having her as Bellatrix (and HBC as Narcissa?). The acting will be great, I imagine, but the two tone hair just looks ridiculous. It's an annoying distraction, right there around the (however amazing actress') face... not easy to overlook. I just can't see any possible reason for not just making her entirely blond!Avatar ImageRaveKatie says: Ugh. I don't know about her, I've got Narcissa's image so clear in my mind that when they first cast her i couldn't at all accept it. But after seeing the movie she acted quite well, I guess, so maybe. That hair though, seriously, what were they thinking? Avatar Imageiceymoon says: she is so. not. Narcissa. which has always been my opinion.. though i would be interested in seeing her as Bellatrix, it's too bad that casting didn't work out!Avatar ImageMidnightSun321 says: cool. is it true about one of the members of the volturi in New Moon(i think its caius) is going to play aberforth??????????? huuuuuuuuuuuge twilight and HP fan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Avatar Imagemugglemom4 says: I am looking forward to her final scene. Avatar ImageVideoKID says: Cool!!Avatar Imagebecmajec says: no YOU'RE a small mention. sorry, don't know where that came from. I love that scene so much with the hair sheilding harry's face and her nails digging into his chest etc. so well written. it portrays her desperate emotions beautifully. i hope mcrory can do it justice. Avatar ImageBeAchL0veEr05 says: I hope she is a good Narcissa. If only her hair was actually blonde. . . Avatar ImageHGROSS44 says: Great news she will do well in the part and it seemes she has a real sence of humor to the two of them Hellen and Hellen probly drive the crew nuts as they are just waiting for somethin to happen good job girls
