I have been planning my trip to Phoenix. AZ for weeks now because it has the closest IMAX, and alas, IMAX release is pushed back.. P.S. Phoenix is a 6hr drive from home....Avatar Imagebengtson_98 says: 37 more days!!!!!!!! O I can not wait:D:D Avatar ImageWicked_Lady says: Cool! So what is a 12A rating? Like PG-13?Avatar ImageProfessor Alan Rickman says: Yep thats equivalent to PG 13Avatar ImageWickedxDreamer says: I bet I'm gonna have to cover my mouth to keep myself from squealing every two seconds. Guh, I can't wait for this movie!! :DAvatar ImageR-for-H says: Yay! Do you think it is coming out on the 15th in the UK too?Avatar ImageHarryRichardsPotter says: woo! longer than OOTP woo! i'm over 12 woo! Avatar ImageEeyore says: Yay! Good news, and it looks like they are including so many things in the movie. Can't wait.Avatar Imagethallo says: 2 h and 1/2, cooooool! I'm so excited...Avatar ImagePewterWolf says: Well, that makes sense to me, a Brit. I mean, the films/books are getting darker and a few of those scenes will be scary for younger fans (ie - the Inferi and Katie Bell). But still, will be AWESOME!!! Avatar ImageHydrus says: Awesome! A good lonf story. I'm taking the whole day off and going to the first showing at 12:01 AM.Avatar Imagehpmom74 says: I still don't understand why it's PG in the US. I'm trying to decided whether to take my 10 year old. I was sure it was going to be PG-13, but that's not what the trailers say. Very excited, though. Looks great!Avatar Imagesunlitdays says: SQUEE!!! now any hbp news makes me insanely happy. ppl, we have only 35 more days! OMFG ONLY 38 DAYS!!!!!!!!!Avatar ImageWoodette says: Oh goody...maybe Ron will actually have a speaking role in this one. I was rewatching OOTP and just realized how few speaking lines Rupert has...it's like Ron is just in the backgroundAvatar ImageeiVega says: So if Britain thinks it's 12A...what will the USA say? Is it still PG? Interesting to see how the same content is received differently.Avatar ImageJeannine says: So it is 2 hours and 33 minutes, that's a pretty long film. Of course it isn't three hours ,which some of us would LOVE but most of the public who go see this will appreciate ....and want to see it more...if it is only the length it is. Am glad to see it is more than two hours though. Still wishing GOF was two films instead of just the one all rammed together one.Avatar Imagesimos says: 15 july ... come come nowwww !!Avatar ImageScottMan says: Wow, 2 1/2 hours? I like lots of Harry Potter, but I didn't think there would be that much to HBP.Avatar ImageTassana Burrfoot says: I'm guessing that 12A is equivalent to the American rating of PG-13? If so, I wonder if the Americans will rate it the same. I hope so. It will put my mind at ease. I'm still kinda iffy about this film. I'll go see it, regardless, (how can I not), but I'm not getting my hopes up too high.Avatar ImageMera004 says: Yayyy! Avatar ImageNeil in Scotland says: Well that looks like a positive thing. 2 1/2 hrs looks good, but it's likely to include 15mins of of credits, so I'm more pleased about the rating.Avatar ImageTamyris says: 2 hrs and 1/2 ? Just that? I want more!! Give me 10 hours of Harry Potter!!Avatar Imagesunshine123 says: i knew it would be a 12A. i just hope there aren't alot of kids in when i go. If there is i hope they stay quiet so i can listen to the film!!! can't wait ahhhhh ooo and 153mins thats like the second longest film of the series ooo yeahAvatar ImageAishMeist says: aaarghh! so glad they brought it forward a couple of days to the 15th!! cannnnot wait!!!Avatar Imagecesca says: Yes im so excited, none of the other films were this long when i thought that they should have been. So much good footage is going to be in this film, I can't wait!!Avatar ImageHPNAIV says: Hell yeahhhhh :) !Avatar Imagesupergirlinfrance says: AWESOME happy that it's 2h1/2 Avatar Imagebutterbeer bottle says: Yay! 2 and a half hours of HBP! But if it's PG in the US and 12 A in the Uk, what is it in Australia M or PG? Because our M is equivalent to the US PG-13 or UK 12 A, and I think pur PG is like the US PG as wellAvatar ImageErinM says: WOO HOO! The longer the movie the better!!!Avatar Imageharrypotterfan5324 says: 12A???? is that like PG-13??? im confuzzledAvatar Imagemaimiaa says: yayyyy yess yesssssss. so excited!!- can you tell? lolAvatar Imagekingdom says: i keep getting more excited for the movie!!Avatar Imageccking says: PLUS i was expecting a higher rating than PG-13 so i'm good with thaat :)Avatar ImageSomebody says: I have a feeling that WB made it PG so that more people (meaning kids) could go see it. The economy sucks at the moment in the US so it'd make sense for them to do that... well i dunno, it only my opinionAvatar Imagejonfrog says: the longer the betterAvatar Imagehermyone08 says: Cool, that's longer than OotP! :)Avatar Imagemuzic823 says: Cool :)Avatar ImageBeansie says: I own a movie theatre so I'm very excited about this film. This will be the longest movie we've played yet, so we'll have to change our schedule. Just for this film. That will be fun. I'm so insanely looking forward to this film, it looks like they really have included almost all of the scenes...and the ones they haven't...for the most part I'm not heartbroken over them...6 weeks are far too long a wait!Avatar ImageChantyBabez says: I'm gonna sit through all the trailers and credits :) 12A will be good :) xAvatar ImageHorcruxalej says: yay two and a half hours!!!! i cant waitAvatar ImageR-for-H says: Yay! Do you think it is coming out on the 15th in the UK too?Avatar ImageWON_TWO says: It is getting close!Avatar ImageCissyMalfoy says: God, I can't wait!Avatar Imagepotterrock says: yay!!! greatgreat.....tanks for the new TLC :)Avatar Imagehedwig5221 says: Good news...I think this is a good length for as much as will need to be condensed to get this book on screen. I'm looking forward to seeing the midnight release with my daughter and a group of friends...granddaughter will go with us on the weekend after she returns from week with her dad.Avatar ImageMatea says: perfect duration! I just hope they won't screw it up like OOTP.Avatar Imagelunaspec_gimmy says: Two and a half hours, love it.Avatar ImageDobbyrox says: I'm so excited! Two and a half hours of HBP!!! I'm going to the midnight showing!!!Avatar Imagepipkin3 says: Has no one else noted the date on the link? "Expected to open on 18/07/2009" Isn't it opening on the 15th here in the UK anymore?Avatar Imagespicefan1978 says: I'm so happy that it's over 2 1/2 hours long!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I WILL see this film 3 or 4 times!Avatar Imagesaffran says: Yess! 153 min and 19 sec of sheer pleasure!Avatar ImageDARKIRONPOTTER says: The censor board in Europe is more strict, because many movies that are PG here are 12a there. YES! 153 mins 19 secs! Almost 154 minutes! So that means HBP will be borderline PG and light PG-13. Sweet.Avatar ImageJuine says: 12A! I'm so happy it's not stepping back to PoA rating!Avatar Imagemoony_lupin says: Cool! I had a feeling HBP was gonna be classified 12A. Avatar ImageLexitheAuror says: I just hope the PG rating in the U.S. has changed to PG-13 now that the film is finished being edited and polished.Avatar ImageHuddz says: I personally don't think the film boards are more strict in America. I can't wait for it to be released and i wonder why the ratings are different this time i mean normally Britain and America rate the films the same well the equivalent of each other at least.Avatar Imagesupergirlinfrance says: AWESOME happy that it's 2h1/2 Avatar Imagebadger666 says: Yay! 2 1/2 hours of HBP. Can't wait!Avatar ImageSirEdwardsGuardian says: Oh? I don't know if I should be utterly happy about this or not...Avatar Imagephantomles says: they have obviously included most of the story line if it has been given a 12a i was worried they would downgrade it a bit for kids. cant waitAvatar Imagesuburbias_prisoner says: I can understand the rating. The books are just going to get gloomier... Can't wait!Avatar ImageFonty says: I don´t think you can compare ratings. The American MPAA doesn´t make any sense anyway. ;) Happy about the running time, though. Will be tough to watch it twice in one night. :)Avatar Imageccking says: woot almost 3 hours =) may go to the midnight showing, except none of my friends like Harry Potter, and it may be a tad embarrassing ... Avatar Imageweasleygirl101 says: Yippee!!!!!!!!!!!! 2 1/2 of hhhhhhhhhhhhppppppppppp soooooooooo xcited 34 days 2 go AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am soooooooo glad that it's 12a , if it was pg non hp fans(weird people) mite not think it was good which it will be.Avatar ImageDolemite says: At least it's not shorter than OotPAvatar Imagehp29 says: 2 and 1/2 hours is awesome! I can't wait! We are nearly there!Avatar ImageCellar Door says: Oh wow! Two hours and half, great! I'll make sure to buy *lots* of popcorn...Avatar Imagealisonshine says: Was this info already released before? I think I'm going crazy but I thought I already read somewhere a couple weeks ago that it was going to be 2 hours and 33 minutes. Either way...AMAZING news. Honestly, I'm pretty sure I'd sit there for 5 hours if they'd make a movie that long...Avatar Imagephoenixes are in ravenclaw says: 2 and 1/2 hours!!! SQUEE! This is awesome!Avatar ImageMidnightSun321 says: SOOOOOOOO excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Avatar Imageblackcatwitch says: I usually get really excited with every new HP-movie, but the last 3 films has failed at so many levels. I wanna believe that this will be the best so far! I can't wait to see the Ron parts for sure! I just want the damn movie! Right now I'm sick and tired of all these trailer.Avatar Imagebellyrox says: Two and a half hours, thats excellent!! I'm so excited, and the coundown is getting so close!! :)Avatar ImageHGROSS44 says: wish is was 215 minutes but then there would have to be a intermission. Hm i think we all could handel that. Avatar Imagescallenger says: Don't know if someone posted this already, but here are the runtimes of all six films (according to IMDB and here): Sorcerer's Stone: 152 Chamber of Secrets: 161 Prisoner of Azkaban: 141 Goblet of Fire: 157 Order of the Phoenix: 138 Half-Blood Prince: 153 So the new film is the 3rd longest so far. Pretty cool! :) Chamber of Secrets still holds it's firm record as the longest in the series (almost beat by Goblet of Fire).Avatar Imagescallenger says: Although it is certainly too early to speculate, I wonder how long the two halves of Deathly Hallows will be? Do you think it will be two long movies (like about as long as, let's say, Sorcerer's Stone) or two short movies (like Order of the Phoenix)? And I haven't been here for a while, does anyone know if the point where they have split the movies has been revealed?Avatar ImageNCC524 says: Really cant wait! Hopefully they don't leave too much from the book out, but so far it doesn't seem like they will. The trailers are amazing!Avatar Imageanokaxlegolas says: Thank God! I was getting nervous... This is great! xDAvatar ImageSTARZOE says: 2 1/2 hours of bliss!!! So cant wait!! :DAvatar ImageLeeann says: i'm so happy the movie is going to be on the longer side. Avatar Imagecheeserpleaser says: This sounds like more than enough time to cover the main events and key components of the story to me, in addition to providing plenty of more for us to relish! Considering that the Order of the Phoenix, as a book, lasted over a third longer but lasted shorter as a film, none of us as fans can complain about the length. This is probably going to be the most loyal adaptation we have seen since Chamber of Secrets as far as I am concerned.
