Previously it was announced that due to a scheduling conflict, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince would not be able to screen in IMAX until several weeks after the regular opening. While that still holds true, the film will be playing in three IMAX theaters in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. Half-Blood Prince will open in many IMAX theaters later on July 29th.

LOLAvatar Imagecliff62442 says: Oh I wish I didn't buy my tickets! I could have gone to the chicago one! Avatar Imageliv-wa says: rawr...The closest one is 4 hours away, and I already bought my tickets.Avatar Imagemomentofzen says: So, Paramount couldn't give a copy to the IMAX theater for Azkatraz, but it can play in 3 other theaters? *officially pissed off*Avatar Imagegryffindor1991 says: i wish there was an IMAX theater near me.Avatar ImageLargeBlondDeathEater says: I'm not even going to the theater in AMC Century 15 in LA. It's one of those fake IMAXes.Avatar Imagelau399 says: That is so unfair!!! Avatar ImageHPNAIV says: Ah well. I think I'm going to one when it opens later anyway. =) I can wait.Avatar ImageiLoveDolores says: i wish we got the movies in imax over here, i feel like im missing out :(Avatar ImageJohnB says: Dang, I am to far north of LA to go >:/ back to plan "A", go to reg and then wait for Imax.Avatar ImageiLoveDolores says: i wish we got the movies in imax over here, i feel like im missing out :(Avatar ImageEmms says: I live in New York, and I've already bought tickets for one of the Imax showings! (for the very early hours of the the 15th.) My brother and our friend are going, and I'm real excited!Avatar Imagekira902k says: Do you know anything about Canadian showings? I must know!!Avatar ImageCandyCane2304 says: Brought my tickets already, so I will wait when it comes to Navy Pier.Avatar Imagefossil_n says: Chicago imax is already sold out for the midnight showing :(Avatar Imagemaimiaa says: way neaaat. :]Avatar ImageHagiographer13 says: Well, 3:30 am is a weensy early to go when one has to work later that morning so I'm sticking with the midnight show at the nice theatres at Howard Hughes here in west LA. They will be getting the IMAX version 2 weeks later and by then I will probably have seen the regular version a dozen more times! :P BTW, the Century City IMAX is a nice venue--nothing "fake" about it. I'll be sure to visit it and all the deluxe theatres around LA to catch a slightly different HBP "experience." 4 more days!!!!!!!!!!!!!Avatar ImageLargeBlondDeathEater says: Hagiographer13, what I meant is that the IMAX is Century City in LA is not the real IMAX experience. It's significantly smaller than normal IMAX theater. ;-)Avatar ImageHagiographer13 says: And what I was saying is there are about a dozen IMAX theatres in the greater Los Angeles area and they vary in size radically. For example, the house at CC is very large so the screen seems smaller. By comparison, the house at HH is tiny (15 rows I think) so the relatively smaller screen seems enormous! It's all a question of degree. :) What I am NOT looking forward to is this vibrating seat thing -- me no likey!Avatar Imageiceymoon says: i was living in Seattle but got kicked out of my place and had to move to Los Angeles with my parents temporarily. it sucks, but the upside is that i get to watch HP on IMAX opening night!!!! <3 i bought my tickets like a week ago, i didn't think to check whether Leaky had reported about it yet. sorry!Avatar ImageSeVeRuS3 says: wish i could go to imaxx but unfortunatly i cannot :((Avatar Imagesiriusismydad says: IMAX in New Zealand are screening HBP on July 15th as well.Avatar ImageJadeDanielle says: I'm not near any of those three, but I hope everyone who is gets to go and has fun! There's an IMAX near me, but to be honest, I've never gone. I don't usually even have the money for a regular theater ticket, let alone an IMAX ticket, and it doesn't really seem necessary to me. I have fun at a regular old theater, myself :D then again, maybe I'm missing something totally amazing :PAvatar ImageLucius Lovegood says: Why don't they ever show the good stuff in the south east :(Avatar Imageaccio_salmon says: The LA theater where I'm seeing the film at midnight has an IMAX theater but it isn't the one in Century City :(Avatar Imagensa says: good luckAvatar ImageMidnightSun321 says: awesum!Avatar Imagekiwimci says: Does anyone know of Manchester in the UK?Avatar ImageSTARZOE says: Bring on the Half Blood Prince!! EXCITED!!! WOO HOO!!!!! :D .☻☻☻....☻......☻.....☻☻…..☻☻☻☻..☻☻☻☻ .☻..........☻☻...☻...☻..☻....☻.......☻..☻ .☻☻☻....☻..☻.☻..☻.☻☻...☻☻☻☻...☻☻☻☻ .….....☻...☻...☻☻.☻.......☻.☻............☻ .☻☻☻....☻......☻.☻.........☻☻...........☻☻☻☻ Avatar Imagedragontowncorsets says: I'd love to experience HBP in IMax... but oddly enough the IMax/Virual Reality effect gives me motion sickness. Go figure!Avatar Imagesnapsforsnape says: ITS SO CLOSE! Our Imax theatre is all the way out in Dallas- so when it does finally come out, I'll get around to seeing it. UNtil then, watching it in the CINE CAPRI- almost just as good as imaxAvatar Imagebudgie says: I would like to see it in IMAX, but after seeing it regular, so I know when the "rollercoaster" parts are coming.Avatar ImageRachezee says: The Chicago one is not even an IMAX but sn OMNIMAX. way COOLER!!! And rare. The theater is domed shaped and never usually shows feature films. I am so excited!!! The theater is like a planetarium sky show theater turned on its side. So you feel like you are moving when the cameras pan. It will be awesome!!!Avatar ImageMr. Stratford says: Yeah, it would have been nice to know about the Chicago opening sooner. Thanks Warner Bros. Now I'm going to a midnight showing in one of my least favorite theaters in town. Stupid muggle fat cats.Avatar ImageWON_TWO says: Imax is way cool...Avatar ImageEkhetrima says: I had always thought I'd see this one in IMAX as we have one in town, but waiting until the 29th is a bit of a let down. I sure wish they had lifted the delay for everyone.Avatar Imagebushybrownhairedknowitall says: Sorry, I need to vent about this. When they rescheduled the release for 8 months later, don't you think they should have made sure it could have all come out at the same time. I just discovered this this morning when I went to try to get my tickets for the midnight release this week. I'm really peeved about this and have half a mind to only go once in these next two weeks just so WB doesn't get double the money from me. I feel that this snafu really could have been prevented. *steps down off of soapbox*. Avatar ImageCandyCane2304 says: Just won ticket's to see Harry Potter at the Chicago Imax one. But I already have tickets to the midnight one, sigh.......Avatar ImageFigment says: Both my husband and I are going to an IMAX showing, but we can wait till the 29th since I'm going to a midnight showing and he is going the first Friday.Avatar Imagemonicahp2009 says: When I bought the tickets to see the Harry Potter exhibit at the MSI in Chicago, I saw the posting for the OmniMax for HBP. When I saw it the notice said that would only be in the 2D format, but it would still be really cool to see HBP there. I've seen a few nature films there and they are really cool. Avatar Imagepansy parkinson says: Ill still see it twice, once imax later but still seeing it on tuesday. Sucks for the other cities tho!Avatar Imagefngw417 says: Will see it in Imax when it comes out in a couple of weeks at Universal City. In the meantime have my tix for 15thAvatar ImageKC Nox says: this makes me sad :(Avatar ImageKC Nox says: this makes me sad :(Avatar Imagehermyone08 says: can't wait until it comes out in imax everywhere
