Last week as we heard in New York from Potter producer David Heyman, there will be ultimate collector’s editions of the Harry Potter films due out on Blu-ray and DVD. Tonight, Amazon.com has two discs in what is clearly labeled “ultimate collector’s edition” available for pre-order: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, with the label reading “including ‘Creating the World,’ ” and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, with that label on the cover reading “includes ‘Creating the Characters.’ ” Please note: These do not have a release date yet available, it is possible these will be out around the same time as the Half-Blood Prince DVD, which as weve been reporting is due out December 7th. Stay tuned, more on these DVDs when can!

Thanks Kayla!

Avatar Imageeaglephot says: So it won't be a complete set? Interesting. I REALLY hope they have the long version of the movie on the DVDs with all of the deleted scenes in place.Avatar ImageBandersnatch says: I notice that people seem to be under the impression that these ultimate collector's editions will have more footage -- like the extended editions of the Lord of the Rings films. Is that just wishful hoping on our part, or has someone actually said that somewhere? I heard what Heyman (and Yates?) said last week, but wasn't sure if he was referring to extended footage or just new "making-of features," such as these "Creating the World/Characters" items. Anyway, it is exciting.Avatar Imagekismatt says: If they're smart, they'll have the extended version. It's very frustrating not to have those scenes on DVD!! 26 hours, 20 minutes to go.....!Avatar ImageBandersnatch says: By "more footage," by the way, I meant more deleted scenes in the actual movies (either inserted into the main film, or at least presented seperately). Actually, the first two films already had lots of deleted scenes on the disks (the second in particular), but the following three movies had very few as I recall.Avatar ImageBandersnatch says: Ugh. "Separately." Can't splel.Avatar ImageHPNAIV says: Hmm... I want more information on these dvds.Avatar ImageWON_TWO says: I'll wait until after DH is out...Avatar ImageIsaalas says: Besides the scenes, I hope that they put more BTS!! That it's something always lacking in the HP DVDs. Something like LOTR! Those were REAL behind the scenes! Pleaseee! :DAvatar ImageCourtney Quirke says: Do not want.Avatar Imagecghambright says: Awesome!! I'm going to wait until we get more details before I pre-order. But I'm definitely going to buy them. I want all the HP I can get!! Avatar ImageSorceress25 says: I agree, i definitely want more information on these DVDs before i go and buy them. I do want them but it may be something i have to wait to getAvatar ImageNoble Birth Descending says: I think I am going to hold out for the HUGE 8 BLU-Ray set that will ultimately be released. Until then, one plain old DVD at a time. Unless WB decides to realease the 3 DVD combo pack with regular, Blu-Ray and digital copies like Disney is now doing.Avatar Imageliv-wa says: Very cool! However knowing me I will probably never get around to actually buying them...Avatar Imagegryffindor1991 says: I think they said something about interviews with department heads and screen tests for some of the actors. I hope they give us all of the secrets from making the movies. show us how they do Quidditch and make creatures and tour the sets and how they build the sets and everything like that.Avatar Imagelizzardbreath says: I'm waiting till 2011 to get my blue rays box set, that way I'll have all seven, on blue ray and with what ever goodies are going to accompany it.Avatar Imagetubaturtle says: As cool as this sounds, I think I'll wait until after Deathly Hallows is out because I'm sure they'll have something even better once ALL the movies are out. If not, well, I have my regular DVDs I can watch.Avatar Imagedcrazmo says: Ka-ching ka-ching! If the films aren't any different, I'm not sure what the point is, other than to make people money who don't need it. After all, the DVD extras on previous editions have been pretty extensive. On the other hand, screen tests would be very interesting to see...Avatar Imagemaera-kyrie says: Sue, you are amazing. Fantastic work these past several days, and Edward as well. You guys are absolutely fantastic.Avatar Imagebookishgal says: Having extended and/or extra scenes would be awesome.Avatar Imageplacebowiz says: dvd!?Avatar Imageno1hpfan says: hmmm it depends on whats on them and if all 8 movies will get this treatment... i may just wait for a box set which i attended on getting anywaysAvatar Imagegirlatty1 says: I can live without the making-of features Avatar ImageJadeDanielle says: Awesome to hear! I may buy the Sorcerer's Stone one when it comes out, because technically, my copy was borrowed from my cousin in 2006 and never returned....:PAvatar Imageoldenoughtoknowbetter says: I would like to get the whole collection at once... so will probably wait.Avatar ImageFigment says: I'm only getting them if they are extended and they have some good extras. But, I know I'll end up getting them sometime, my old ones will need to be replacing eventually.Avatar Imagebadger666 says: Well they'll probably have a set with all 8 movies in 2011. So why buy them individually now? I think not. And they better have tons of extra stuff and extended scenes. Give us what we deserve WB.Avatar ImageLemonFaerie says: So are these the extended director's cuts or what????Avatar Imagesianletley says: Extended versions PLEASEAvatar ImageLuce_depp says: I REEEEEEEEAAAALLLLYYYYY want the full version of snapes first memory! I would do anything for it!Avatar Imagedeadtree says: I'm really only interested in deleted scenes and the like, maybe interviews-- if it's all "making of" featurettes I'll pass. It spoils the fun!Avatar ImageTasyaWeasley says: :\Avatar ImageThe Hufflepuff Giraffe says: Already? I was going to wait until Deathly Hallows was on DVD... Avatar ImageHuddz says: Yeah i don't think i will be buying these i would rather wait and see if they make extended editions in the future.Avatar ImageMugglejeff says: A true box set would be great.Avatar ImageAurora_7 says: Yeah I'll wait a few years until I get my blu-ray dvds, will need to get a blu-ray dvd player aswell. In the mean time, I shall just buy the normal versions.Avatar Imagex_Potter_Lover_Forever_x says: Very, very cool! :D Might wait a bit and preorder them when they actually have a realease date though! :)Avatar Imagebudb says: Bander has a good point, the exact word used (as far as we know) was "ultimate"... I would really get ticked if we start learning of "ultimate" collection, "extended collection", "directors' cut" and other obvious efforts to simply make money. And from PoA on the number of deleted scenes that made the DVD extras plummeted to virtually nothing, suggesting those are being held on to for a future "extended" release.... Jade, do give SS back to your very nice and patient cousin! ;-) I really, very simply, want the films to be as brilliant as the books. Not identical, scene for scene, just brilliantly crafted. Is that too much to ask? Avatar ImageRin68nyr says: Since I already have the first 5 films, I will probably wait until the complete set of all 8 films comes out...I"m hoping there will be a lot of extras with that set...and it would be WONDERFUL to have all the deleted scenes right in the movie! ErinAvatar Imagebeewell says: Going to wait until the whole set comes out and then have a Harry Potter marathon! Hope they have all the scenes...would make it worth the wait!Avatar ImageMoose_Starr says: Personally I'm excited for the *ultimate* DVD thing, especially for CoS. I have the 2-disc *collector's* edition (or something like that?) of all the movies except CoS, because it wasnt available so I bought the regular edition at the time. Each time I've tried buying the 2-disc CoS movie something goes wrong & I dont get it, like the store suddenly has none in stock or whatever. Maybe it was meant to be, so as I could get the ultimate DVD. I still dont have blu-ray, & although I expect WB will do an Even More Ultimate collection after the release of DH Part 2, I would love to get CoS Ultimate as soon as it becomes available ... and maybe if & when the 8-movie collection is released as a box set which it undoubtedly will be on blu-ray or whatever's replaced blu-ray by then, maybe I'll be able to get that collection at that time.Avatar ImageHorcruxalej says: i think il wait till all the movies to come out to get a box set ultimate collection... i already have all the movies out so yeahAvatar ImageLivelaughlovepotter says: Hmm. Maybe for Christmas? *Hopes for all three DVD's* -11days-Avatar ImageLivelaughlovepotter says: OH god, i meant hours.Avatar ImageMidnightSun321 says: AWESUM!!!!!Avatar ImageCandyCane2304 says: Just got a tweet from @HarryPotterFilms and they said that Rupert's auditon tape will be on the dvd.Avatar ImageCatherine says: awesome...id have to see how much extra fetures they have before trying to convince my mom to buy another set of the movies! Avatar ImageHermione Elizabeth says: That's pretty cool!Avatar Imagecauldronjane says: I think I will wait for the box set of all the movies to come out.Avatar Imagehermyone08 says: what i really hope that they do is create a dvd with all the deleted footage that they never showed us on any dvd.Avatar Imagefngw417 says: As others have said I would love to see extended versions of the movies much like Peter Jackson did with LOTR sets. Avatar Imagelinnie95 says: I am going to wait until the whole collection is out. But cool. Avatar Imagebiiigbob says: Getting tired of studios trying to sell me the same product over and over. Does the new edition have enough NEW material alone to warrant buying the same movie again? If the answer is no, then wait for the furor to die down and then buy it in the cheap bin when it needs to be sold to make room for the next "HOT" film. By then, you'll know what is on the dvd, and if it's even worth the reduced price or not.Avatar Imagemrs_rupert_grint says: they put the extra scenes into the lord of the rings films when they brought out the box set so hopefully they will do that with hp!Avatar Imagemugglemom4 says: I hope to get more info soon!Avatar Imageanneke9999 says: I have both boxes, 'chamber of secrets' and 'philosepher's stone'! They are both brilliant! Beautiful boxes with a lot of pictures containing: 1: box with 4 dvds: normal version (cinema), extended version(!) and 2 dvds with a lot of extra material (old and NEW!) 2: envelope with 2 cards/pictures (Harry, McGonagall, Sneep and Hagrid) 3: photo album (set details, concept paintings, cast, ...)
