The Muggles have done it again! STV reports today that a search of Google Earth photos has revealed what they are calling a possible sighting of the elusive Loch Ness Monster, otherwise known as the Giant Squid in Lake Hogwarts ;)

Also, apparently pranksters from Hogwarts may well earn the wrath of Herbology Professor Sprout as the Daily Mail reports that a dangerous Devils Snare has been found in the garden of a Muggle in Emsworth, Hampshire, England. The paper says:

“It remains a mystery as to how the plant, most commonly found in
South America, appeared at Mrs Rogers’ home in Emsworth, Hampshire. But she speculates it could have been spread by birds dropping seeds.

Mrs
Rogers, 75, said: ‘It just appeared from nowhere. We noticed it about
three or four weeks ago when it was about six inches tall and we’ve
been trying to get it identified.’Now it’s about two-and-a-half to three feet high and growing madly.’It’s
green and has got yellowish flowers that look like trumpets but never
open. The other thing about it is it’s got green pods that have spines
all over them.”

According to the Royal Horticultural Society the seed can live
dormant underground for years and germinates when the soil is disturbed.A
spokesman said: ‘Although quite a striking plant, it is as well to be
aware that all parts – particularly the seeds – are highly poisonous.”

But then again I dont have any sense of humor at all.Avatar ImagelUnA jAnE says: i went 2 the report there were 2 comments 'it looks like a giant squid' because it is the giant squid!!!! it escaped from the lake somehow all us hp fans know it. the second one was 'On closer examination via Google Earth it's clear that the object is a small boat heading in a north-easterly direction at relatively low speed. The rear three 'tentacles' are the prop-wash whilst the two lateral ones are waves extending outward from the hull. Much as I am a believer in Nessie, I haven't lost my observational skills. :-)' u ding dong its the giant squid!!!!!!!!!!!! Avatar Imageimpoohnfrenz says: WOW!! It must be just like you said, that Jo is really a witch who has been given special permission to make this one exception to the Wizarding World's International Statute of Secrecy, so that she could tell Harry's story to the world at large. I mean, Devil's Snare and The Giant Squid in just one day? What other proof does the Muggle world need? :)Avatar Imageweasleygirl295 says: Oh wow!Avatar ImageMatea says: but devils snare hates sunlight. and look at the picture. loolAvatar Imagecheeserpleaser says: I think it is safe to say that some wizards need to be dispatched to send that giant squid back to where it belongs, at Hogwarts.Avatar ImageCindy Potter says: this has lifted my spirits today!! very nice!! :) News should be always this funny!! :)Avatar Imageneeshaknowsall says: Were those seeds dropped by an African or European swallow?Avatar Imageaxlgirl says: AWESOME! =D Better send out a team of Obliviators quickly...Avatar ImageMidnightSun321 says: hahahaaaaa!! hogwarts really does exist =P !!!!Avatar ImageMidnightSun321 says: stupid STV :PAvatar Imagejustanargle says: The squid is cool!!! Avatar ImageWingardium Leviosa says: Haha, the monster really looks like the giant squid.Avatar ImageOcky says: Interestingly enough about a month ago the Muggle BBC Look East local news programme had an article on Devil's Snare, found by an elderly muggle. Unless you had the venomous tentacula growing in your garden and it was teething!Avatar Imagehewy says: What next? Loch Ness will be over flowing with folks wanting to see or search for the poor creature. The giant squid sounds like a good guess to me. Just goes to show how amazing JKR is...she really did some research for her booksAvatar ImageGiant Squid says: its like Jo Rowling knew of the plant before she wrote about it!!!!!Avatar Imageeagleblue says: Spooky. You are sooo funny! :DAvatar ImagecrazyforSeverus says: That picture definately can not be passed off as the Loch-Ness Monster or the Giant Squid. The Devil's Snare picture is cool though. I can't believe how fast it grows. I didn't know Devil's Snare actually existed!Avatar ImageShalanarah says: haha you know what i kinda believe in mystical creatures! Avatar Imagemaimiaa says: hahhh way funny :DAvatar Imageevannaa says: Apart from that it looks like a boat.. Didn't Newt Scamander say in Fantasic Beasts and where to find them that it was a Kelpie in Loch Ness? (and something about it transforming into otters and stuff so it can't be found?) Hm, and interesting that Devil's Snare is a real plant..Avatar Imageatarigurl05 says: Wow the Wizarding World just keeps showing itself very subtly. Devil's Snare who would have thought!Avatar ImageDawna says: too funny!Avatar ImageProfessorCharms says: Love it, Sue! :) I had no idea Devil's Snare actually existed. Where is The Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures? Jeesh....and they say Muggle governments can't get things right....! And as far as the Devil's Snare goes, I have a strange feeling seeds may have been accidentally spread by dirt-clumps dropped from the tires from flying cars and the hooves of hippogriffs. Avatar ImageXhago says: LoL that was funnyAvatar ImagexAnaheyy says: LOL i thought Devil's Snare was made up o_o this made my day :DAvatar ImageFloridianFlounder95 says: Hogwarts is real I tell you! What other explanation do you have? A Dinosaur, as if! (Clueless Quotage!!!)Avatar ImageX-Lillie-Lovegood-X says: The loch Ness Monster is a boat I lookedAvatar ImageGranger10 says: ooooo!!!!!!!!! hahahahahahahahah very funny!!!!!!!Avatar Imagegryffindor1991 says: haha. thats pretty funny!! :DAvatar ImageNundu says: That 'monster' is obviously a boat and it's wake. If you look zoom the photo in and compare it to the scale, it's about the size (25 metres) of the boats that cruise the loch on a regular basis, taking tourists out to find Nessie. Mind you, I look for Nessie whenever I'm there, but all the photos ever taken of the supposed monster never showed a squid shaped, white creature, but rather a serpent type, dark one.Avatar ImageParkinsonpansy says: haha jack and the gaint bean stock!!! Avatar ImageParkinsonpansy says: btw thar so looks like a boat!!Avatar Imagemadman1277 says: lolAvatar ImageMikaMaxwell says: Aren't there any pictures to be shared as proof?Avatar ImageMellzey72 says: I want some ;0)Avatar Imagesilvia_storti says: ahahah!
