A minor update today regarding Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Widely expected and previously reported, the Dursleys will indeed seen in the final films with the agents for Harry Melling recently updating his page with word that he will reprise his role once again as Dudley Dursley for Deathly Hallows. This of course follows previous confirmation from Richard Griffiths last year that he would be back as Uncle Vernon, with Fiona Shaw also expected to return as Aunt Petunia.

Avatar ImageSmonocco says: I'm glad he's back.Avatar ImageMatea says: awesome! I was so afraid they would cut Dursleys out.Avatar ImageRin68nyr says: Yeah! I hate it when they cut the Dursely's out!!!! ErinAvatar Imagethundermountain7 says: yes that meen we wil see the whole seen before seven pottersAvatar ImageTheGriff says: Yay finally its been too long. I hope they have the scene where Dudley is sad that he might never see Harry again. Avatar ImageCissyMalfoy says: Oh, that's cool! :DAvatar ImageLillylove says: I am happy to hear that the Dursleys will be in DH. I think it would detract from the film series if we were not able to see the closure of that chapter for Harry. Avatar Image42sk8ter says: thank goodness! they have been skipping some important parts in the last few movies Avatar Imagealpaca-girl says: i really hope they leave most of the scenes with the dursley's in there... Avatar Imagehepburn says: Great!! And nice picture.Avatar Imagesilvia_storti says: Yes! Dursleys in DH! I was afraid they'd be cut out for good, while even the movie audience needs some closure with their part of the plot! so that means... the whole of The Seven Potters is in there! Yay!Avatar ImageGranger10 says: Thats great!!! He has done such a great job soo far...the Dursley bits of the movies are one of my favorites!!!!!!!!!Avatar ImageHermioneRon4ever says: They really are going all out for this movie! I think this will be the best adaptation so far! I'm so happy they're keeping the Dursley's this time!Avatar ImageMoose_Starr says: This is good news ... the Dursleys have awesome scenes that alas all too often get left out of the movies. Harry Melling is just great as Dudders. With the other Seven Potters scenes that have been filmed it seems as though we're going to be seeing a lot of the escape from Privet Drive :)Avatar Imagewandmastercalum says: That'll be great!Avatar ImageLuce_depp says: Awesome! I hope they have all the dursley's scenes including the Dudley bit and Petunia nearly saying something to him but then leaving.Avatar ImageParkinsonpansy says: Yay!!!Avatar ImageGiant Squid says: yes! the Dursleys are back!!!!!!Avatar Imageanisia says: That's great! Avatar Imagesiriuslysirius11 says: THat's good news. He is good as Dudley (though he should be blonde!)Avatar ImageToNkS_rip says: I'm so glad. I thought they were going to cut out the Dursley scene in DH, since they weren't there in HBP.Avatar ImageRemsyLuck says: Hell yeah! I'm glad we'll get to see the Dursley. I was so angry they got cut in HBP, I had been looking forward to the scene in Privet Drive with Dumbledore since the first time I read it on page.Avatar ImageMrs.Brisby says: Yesss! Dursleys are back! I really missed them in HBP. So wanted to see Dumbledore telling them off. Avatar ImageLEW says: Yay! And he looks great!Avatar Imagehalfbloodprincesss says: i was afraid they might not put the dursleys in!! but i'm glad they decided to go with accuracy rather than useless scenes that might or might not be goodAvatar Imagesueml says: Good news - no goodbye scene would have been very anti-climatic regarding that part of Harry's life. They must need to pad Harry Melling up quite a bit - he has changed so much as he's grown. Quite good looking now actually.Avatar ImageErinM says: Yay! We'll have closure on the Muggle end of Harry's early life! A goodbye from Dudders :)Avatar ImageLoyalGryffindor90 says: This is very good news. I didn't hear much about the Dursleys and their role in the final movie, and was concerned that they may have been cut. That would have been very upsetting to not include them when there is such a poignant scene between them (especially Dudley) and Harry. Avatar Imagekiwimci says: That's so weird I was just wondering were they coming back, that's brilliant. We all know there's the odd plot holes in the movies. I really hope they tie everything up in a satisfying way for the movie audiences. I mean people step back here, the industry rarely sees such a long standing and succinct franchise as this, if ever at this level. We all feel pretty confident that the novels will stay firm as one of children's favourites for the next century. But the BA in Film in me can't wait to see the legacy of this film series in the next 30 yearsAvatar Imagekiwimci says: And in a much more pointless note, Harry Melling now looks like a friend of mine except he has blonde hair! I'm gonna picture my friend now when I read DH, not sure he'd be too enamored with thatAvatar ImageAesa Haettr says: Nice, I hope they don't alter the Dursley scene from the book too much. Avatar Imagelisajean65 says: Glad to hear that. Missed the Dursley's in HBP. Is that picture really "Dudley"? He looks really different. Like he got thinner or something.Avatar ImageMarina- says: Great, this means that in an other great book scan will be in the movie!! That giveS hope!Avatar Imagelexuslovesweasleys says: thats wonderful to hear.. and its great that they wont be cutting it out of the movie Avatar ImageHopelaa93 says: I'm glad he's back, he's such a good actor, and I'm not supirsed by that decsion. Avatar Imagecheeserpleaser says: I am glad that he is returning for the seventh film! The absence of the Dursleys would do a disservice to the final installment, in which so many past characters return for the final act.Avatar ImageWON_TWO says: Good ol' Big D...Avatar Imageoldenoughtoknowbetter says: So happy the Dursleys will be back. I really missed that scene in HBP it would have been hilarious and far better than Harry picking up Muggle girls!Avatar ImageMidnightSun321 says: awesum :)Avatar Imagepeaceforall says: i'm so happy they're keeping that scene in! at that point i sorta forgave dudley all the horrible things that he'd done to harry over the years. well, pretty much, at least.Avatar Imagesevpatronus_93 says: i would've been super mad if they didn't bring back the dursleys. i'm glad they're keeping it all close as possible this time around with the books. also, i never thought of him as attractive before, but dude, that is a flattering picture up there.Avatar Imagejustin_967 says: It's funny the actor who plays dudley is named Harry!!! I'm glad he's back, I thought the dursley scene was great in the book.Avatar Imagemjkalldaway says: Good, he's done a great job in the other HP movies, even if he has a smaller partAvatar Imagephoenixes are in ravenclaw says: Yes!!!Avatar Imagemjkalldaway says: Good, he's done a great job in the other HP movies, even if he has a smaller partAvatar Imagemjkalldaway says: Good, he's done a great job in the other HP movies, even if he has a smaller partAvatar Imagemjkalldaway says: Good, he's done a great job in the other HP movies, even if he has a smaller partAvatar Imagemjkalldaway says: Good, he's done a great job in the other HP movies, even if he has a smaller partAvatar Imagemjkalldaway says: sorry didn't mean for that to come out so many times!Avatar Imagebettb says: I guess we can see from this picture what the Lavesden set report said about Mr. Melling getting too slim to play pudgy Dudley anymore, without body padding! Amazing what they are able to pull off at that studio.Avatar Image-MischiefManaged- says: Yay, I'm so glad the Dursleys will be in the DH film! I was really miffed about the changes they made to the beginning of HBP, it would have been awesome to have Dumbledore coming to Privet Drive and telling the Dursleys off. I was soooo looking forward to seeing it when I read the book. So yeah, I'm very happy they're including the Dursleys in DH. :)Avatar ImageCandyCane2304 says: Good to see the Dursely's will be back.Avatar Image-MischiefManaged- says: *@bettb*, you didn't happen to save the original Leavesden set report, did you? I'm just about dying to read it again but it's been taken down.Avatar Imagebudb says: Good, almost there then! Still no news on Jamie Waylett? What about John Cleese as Nearly Headless Nick? Not essential to a coherent story line, but still.... And the Grey Lady was played by Nina Young in SS....not sure if that was her again in CoS tho, the part isn't listed in the credits. And of course we haven't seen either since. My guess is that we may see Nick again, but the entire "I stole the diadem from my mother" scene will just be dropped as unimportant and too slow. The same applies to William Melling as Nigel...since we cannot have Colin Creevey, I will admit to becoming fond of Nigel!Avatar Imagemadman1277 says: Woot glad they have good bye to dursleysAvatar Imageweasleyalltheway says: thats so great! i love them all, and he looks so different!Avatar Imageweasleyalltheway says: YYYAAAYYY!!!!!! Avatar ImageHPNAIV says: Yay! =]Avatar Imagesunlitdays says: woah. dudley actually looks kind of good in his actor photo. who knew? :)Avatar Imagedobbyis_free says: YES!! thats awesome that the dursleys are coming back! i was hoping they would. it will help make a good seventh :)Avatar ImageClariceCuri says: I'm glad, the Dursleys scenes are always great and funny too. :DAvatar ImageFifi says: Coooll!! I always liked the Dursley scenes. : D Avatar ImageHermione Elizabeth says: I'm so glad that we get to see the Dursley's again for the last time.. I wish they were in HBP, but at least they are in DH. :)Avatar Imagegirlatty1 says: Obviously - he wanted 40 new presents tooAvatar ImageMikaMaxwell says: Yeah, as much as I hate the Dursley's, they were a critical point in Harry's life, not just with his mother's protection magic, but also with raising him to be a humble child (preventing another, sometimes cruel, James Potter, as it were). I was disappointed not seeing them in HBP, so I'll be glad to see the handshake between Dudley and Harry in the next film!Avatar ImageJillxoxo says: So glad to hear it! After HBP, didn't know what to expect.Avatar ImageJaeliaVerdette says: I really respect the producer/director/s for consistantly using the same actors/actresses for the same parts. It just makes the movies flow better and much easier to understand. I'm really relieved that they put in the Dursely's too. I wonder if they show Harry accidentally crushing the cold cup of tea Dudley left out for him?Avatar ImageRHrSoulmates says: @JaeliaVerdette I totally agree and was wondering/hoping they'll include the broken cup - even if nothing further is said about it and just those of us *in the know* notice it. @-MischiefManaged- I believe I may have that report. Check your owls.Avatar Imagejennluvsharry says: im so glad we will see the Dursleys-i was hoping they wouldn't exclude their scenes!!Avatar Imagegryffindor1991 says: good. i hope fiona shaw returns as aunt petunia.Avatar ImageJTEL99 says: Oh good, I'm glad they'll be back again. I missed them in the HBP movie!!! Avatar ImageJTEL99 says: Oh good, I'm glad they'll be back again. I missed them in the HBP movie!!! Avatar Imagewing says: oooooooooooooAvatar Imagewing says: oooooooooooooAvatar Imagewing says: oooooooooooooAvatar Imagewing says: oooooooooooooAvatar Imagemidzy says: that's very exciting.. i always think he did great as dudley dursley :) Avatar ImageHazelShadows says: Oh yes! This shows they really are going to do the thing properly! Now I'm THAT much more excited. (Which, mind you, seems very hard to be!)Avatar Imagesgreeter8888 says: The last movie felt odd without the Dursleys. I am glad they are back. Avatar Imagecghambright says: Yay!! I'm so excited!! I love the scene with the Dursleys and Harry. I'm so happy it's going to be in the movie. Avatar Imagepromote_elfish_welfare says: Yay! That's awesome :) I'm really glad they're not cutting them out. Avatar ImageHBPFan says: I'm glad they'll all be back, it would be incomplete without them!!!Avatar ImageHeartbreakDX says: Yay! That means Seven Potters. Whoop whoop!Avatar ImageSlytherin Princess101 says: I am sooo happy that he is back!! The worse part on HBP was that there were no Dursleys and the put that scene with the waitress that was soooo totally out of it!!!! I am glad we will not have any more disasters like that one!!!!Avatar ImageDawna says: So glad the are having the Dursley's. Missed them in HBP. Would have loved to have seen the scene with Dumbledore coming to Privet Drive!Avatar ImageSt Ramona says: Yay!! One of the few things I didn't like about HBP was the Dursley's not being in it.Avatar Imageshellybasson says: Awesome news! I hope they add the part where he thanks Harry for savin ghis life... Avatar Imagebeewell says: This is great news! Couldn't leave that part out..it would take away from the orignial. Can't wait!Avatar ImageFleur-de- Lily says: That’ll be greatAvatar Image-MischiefManaged- says: Funny, I've seen HBP some 7 times now (will probably see it again before it leaves the theatres) and even though I never really liked the beginning of it -- except for the scene where Dumbledore stands in front of that Divine Magic poster ad -- the more I think about it now, the more annoyed I get about the Dursleys and the whole Dumbledore-visiting-Privet-Drive thing not being in it. I'm SO glad they're not leaving the Dursleys out this time!Avatar ImageJessSnape says: Good!! It has been disappointing not seeing the Dursleys, especially not in the last movie. It would have been a good scene to have Dumbledore waiting for Harry in the Dursley's living room!!Avatar Imageskiving snackboxes says: awesome! I am so glad to hear that. I think because they're splitting this book into 2 movies, they might actually get almost everything right!!Avatar ImageAsta says: He really suits the character..Avatar ImageAsta says: That's great, 'cause he's done well as Dudley...Avatar ImageAsta says: I'm glad to hear the Dursleys' are back in Deathly Hallows...Avatar ImagecrazyforSeverus says: Yes! I am so glad they didn't cut the Dursleys. "I don' think you are a waste of space." Love that part!Avatar Imagealegria35 says: cool. He should start working out, coz in the book he's like.. beefy..Avatar ImageeiVega says: I really hope they do the emotional complexity justice. There's so much sadness yet confusion because they've always hated each other but are still family. I'm glad to see they are including it now I just hope they get it right.Avatar Imagex_Potter_Lover_Forever_x says: That's good! :D Glad the Dursley coming back .....Avatar Imagebookmonster79 says: FINALLY! I was really beginning to get worried as we had not had any confirmations so far concerning the Dursleys! Whew!Avatar ImageScarStruck says: yay the dursley's are back in the films! yay!!!!Avatar Imageiamminerva says: Okay, no time to read all the comments so I'm sure I'm about to duplicate what others have said, but here goes anyway: I MUST have that goodbye from #4 Privet Drive. I MUST see Petunia almost say something to Harry, then change her mind and turn away from him. I MUST hear Dudley mention the time that Harry saved him from the Dementors. I MUST have that scene. Now I have hope that all of us will definitely have all these things. I just Hope that Steve Kloves keeps it just like it is in the book. I don't want to see big changes in the dialogue. Avatar Imagesessionka says: GREAT!!!!!Avatar ImageNot Slytherin says: Yay, I'm so glad Duddy-kins is coming back with Uncle Vernon and Auntie Petunia. I missed the Dursleys in HBP! The good-bye scene should be awkward and awesome. Can't wait to see Fiona Shaw's face when you know Petunia wants to say something to Harry, but can't bring herself to do it.Avatar Imagebookishgal says: Great that the Dursley's will be back.Avatar Imagehewy says: So glad the Dursleys are back to finalize this part of Harrys life. They have been cut out of enough of the movies.Avatar Imagealexwareham says: Yeah!! It's good he's back, but from the photo he doesn't look fat enough to play DUDLEY!! I guess it's just another way they have messed up the movies! :SAvatar Imagejustanargle says: wow he looks completely different! Glad the dursleys are back :)Avatar ImageHGROSS44 says: It would not be the same if all the Dursley's were not in the last movies.Avatar Imagesmgkkg says: That's great! Glad to see that they didn't leave them out. Avatar ImageFigment says: I'm am glad he is back, I really missed the Dursleys in HBP.Avatar Imagehplove4life says: WOW HE LOOKS SKINNY(NOT FAT!!!)Avatar Imageultraviolet says: thats great, we havent seen the Dursleys in soo long, itll be nice to see the dursley/harry final partingAvatar ImageCalamity Jamie says: I'm so glad! That Harry-Dudley moment was a treasure and I was bracing for the disappointment of it being cut.Avatar ImageRavenclawGal14 says: wahooo!!!!!!!! i seriesly clapped when i read this. he deserves to be in the last film Avatar Imagelevi-OH-sa not levio-SA says: i kinda missed them in hbp :] lol but i really like their farewell and i think it should be in the endAvatar Imagesairah says: -wipes brow- thank god! I was so worried they were going to cut the final goodbye with the dursley's from the movie! what a relief, that was one of my favorite parts in DH! ... lol his name is HARRY?! I did not know that!Avatar ImageProudGreen89 says: oh good! i was hoping theyd keep all the original dursleys, and now that we know theyre using the beginning dursley scene, there will definitely be a 7 potters scene!!Avatar Imageccking says: they all looks so grown up !!Avatar Imageccking says: they all looks so grown up !!Avatar Imageccking says: they all looks so grown up !!Avatar Imageccking says: they all looks so grown up !!Avatar Imageccking says: they all looks so grown up !!
