Hang on everyone, as The Sun is reporting tonight a second "secret" test screening for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was held yesterday. In true tabloid fashion, the paper declares that "the handful of devotees came out blasting film bosses for making key
characters and plot-lines from JK ROWLING’s best-seller
disappear...as if by magic." As such, the article contains only negative reactions to this supposed screening, with no details provided on where and when these comments were made. One example of reactions as the paper writes "
the Half-Blood Prince of the title barely features. Worse still the
film was slammed as too SOPPY."

Yes, leave it to the Sun to blow everything out of proportion, however even in inflamed half-truths there is probably an initial root of fact.
Best not to forget that The Sun is owned by News Corporation, who incidently enough own one of Warner’s biggest rivals, 20th Century Fox. Not that Rupert Murdoch would allow his companies to use negative campaigns in his newspapers of course……….

This doesn’t worry me at all. The same paper showed the picture of the Harry/Ginny kiss last week and not only did they call it “The first ever sneak-peek”- which we know is NOT true- they also put a caption underneath that said “Harry is seen here with his girlfriend Cho”.
Reliable source? I think not. I doubt there is one single person who works for that paper who has actually even read the books.

GO ON YAHOO.CO.UK AND ITS ON THE MAIN NEWS PAGE ABOUT THIS SCREENING HEADLINE IS HARRY POTTER AND THE DISSAPOINTING SCREENING, SURELY WARNER BROS AND DAVID YATES WILL FIND OUT ABOUT THIS. OH PLEASE DONT LET THIS BE TRUE. I JUST WANT IT TO BE BETTER THAN ORDER OF THE PHOENIX. I DONT SUPPOSE ANYONE KNOWS WHERE TO WRITE TO WARNER BROS OR DAVID YATES DO THEY TO VOICE CONCERNS ABOUT THE TERRIBLE CUTS IN THE FILMS THEY HAVE BEEN MAKING. ONE COMMENT I READ WAS ABOUT THE YOUNG KIDS THAT LOVE HARRY POTTER, THEY DONT WANNA BE BORED WITH STUPID RELATIONSHIPS AND SLOPPINESS THEY WANNA SEE ACTION AND MAGIC. THE ROMANCE SHOULD HAVE JUST BEEN A LIGHT RELIEF WITH THE MAJOR PLOT POINTS TAKING CENTRE STAGE. WELL DONE DAVID YATES, YOU DESTROYED ORDER OF THE PHOENIX, SOUNDS LIKE YOUVE DESTROYED HALF BLOOD PRINCE AND YOUR DIRECTING DEATHLY HALLOWS TO, GOD HELP UP US. NICE ONE FOR DESTROYING THE FRANCHISE YOU LOSER.

Is WB going to get off their ass anytime soon and make a statement regarding this garbage? I think the longer they wait to shoot these lies down the more it will spread to more reputable news sources and eventually it will get to their precious “average movie-goers” who may no longer want to see the film if they think its bad. True or not WB needs to hurry up and nip this in the bud pronto!

LOL, since when does the Sun get any facts straight? Have they had even ONE accurate article about HP ever? I can’t recall one.

Why do they waste time on these test screenings? WB is NEVER going to listen to anyone. They only do what they THINK will get them more money which is what they’re after with the least possible effort (why bother reading such a long book? What is it about, teenage wizards snogging? No problem.) and the lowest level of competence. They don’t even KNOW that they’re wasting a huge budget, a brilliant story and the best actors in the world. It doesn’t matter anyway: the moviegoers are guaranteed whatever they do and whatever anybody says.
And it’s sad to confess it, but that includes me. In spite of everything I really want to watch it, imagining what a fabulous film someone with talent could have made, and trying not to blink in order to catch a nanosecond glimpse of the wonderful Half Blood Prince (if there’s one thing about this test screening that I believe 100% it is that “the Half-Blood Prince of the title barely features”. Now, there’s a surprise…!)

I’m going to wait to worry until I read something from someone who was actually there. Besides, we all know already that they’re going to cut lots of stuff, so that’s not really news.

It’s probably not worth fretting about. We will all make up our own minds when we see it. Until then, we always know that some things will be cut for the sake of time, it’s hard to turn 600 plus page book of such amazing depth into a two-hour movie. If we could deal with the mash-up that was PoA, we can deal with anything!

The story has been confirmed by WB as false.

" Warner Bros have confirmed that the report, which originated with The Sun, is false. It stated that many fans were upset with the film, giving many quotes.
The information they gathered was actually from the Chicago screening that took place last September. This is the only screening of Half-Blood Prince that has taken place."

I’m sure they’ve dropped lots of important plot lines – but I hope they haven’t made a simplistic teen romance out of this dark and complex story! Let’s hold onto the fact that the trailer looks really promising until someone who was in the test audience actually speaks out about what they saw.

you just can’t have all things Half Blood Prince in 2 hours, so the content would be compromised. Let’s hope it doesn’t seem so bad as this tabloid makes it out to be…
