Balderdash is our word of the day, as it turns out the story in the Sun from a few days ago regarding a possible second screening of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is false. WB has confirmed to Leaky that there was no "secret" second screening of the sixth Harry Potter movie held as was claimed. For in an effort that would no doubt make Rita Skeeter proud, The Sun engaged in a bit of creative writing with their piece, as the comments were obtained from an article seen on Aint it Cool regarding the actual test screening held last fall.
That’s disgusting. Why would you go out of the way to trash something like that? I thought the comments sounded recycled from the other screening. Hopefully they’ve improved things since then.
The same story almost was in the Daily Mail and it was clearly based on 8 month old blog posts. They quoted them saying “Maybe it will be okay, they’ve got a year before it’s released,” and then the journalist added “It’s out in July” and for some reason they were incapable of working out simple time periods from calendar months.
Darn that Rita… when, oh when will she learn? Where’s Hermione when we need her?
But seriously… I am utterly confused why someone would write that kind of story without checking the facts first. I know that people make mistakes, but this is rather a big mistake to make, isn’t it? Weird…
Well, too late for that one. The “Half-Blood Prince sucks” rumor has already spread to multiple movie sites. Good job trying to spread propaganda, The Sun! I never really thought of you as credible, anyway.
Waiting for WB to make an official statement so the movie websites remove this before it does any damage.
Jaymie Brooks, unfortunately I think its already done quite a bit of damage, but you are right about them needing to make a more widespread official statement and fast. Even if you just look at the story on yahoo.co.uk yesterday there were over 40 pages of comments on this and almost every one I had time to read believed this made up crap. I hate the Sun. There is a reason they get sued all the time. For once I actually wish WB would sue them and I never say that.
"You're worth twelve of Malfoy," Harry said. "The Sorting Hat chose you
for Gryffindor, didn't it? And where's Malfoy? In stinking Slytherin."[br]
Neville's lips twitched in a weak smile as he unwrapped the frog.
Well that’s good!!! still anxiuos about how this will turn out – I hope they didn’t cut too much
