Audio Previews of the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Soundtrack Now Online

We have a bit of a treat tonight, as fans can now preview the soundtrack for the upcoming Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince through ring tones. If you go to this link to Virgin Mobile, then select a phone, you can type in "Harry Potter" in the search box, and will get a selection of 14 second previews from the score to HBP composed by Nicholas Hooper. Without revealing too many spoilers, the music ranges in sweeping soaring sounds, to lovely romance (with even a bit of a harp) to the whimsical for the Slug Club, and in a standout, the Weasley Wheezes theme consists of a fabulous nod to the swing and jazz era of late, similar to what we heard with Lupin's class in Prisoner of Azkaban. Enjoy!
Update: The previews are also available here via AT & T Media Mall and now thanks to Chris, here via Youtube.
Thanks ever so much Michael!

What a freaking disappointment. He simply doesn’t TOUCH John Williams. His structure and voicings are childish at best. It’s like a composition student sat down and just did a homework assignment for class. It’s not even as good as Doyle. Please. Please please please let Williams come back for Deathly Hallows!

Love all the tracks. Especially Dumbledore’s Farewell (about started crying!) and The Weasley Stomp. I am even more excited to see this movie (if possible!) and cannot wait to buy the cd!

Did anyone else think that Inferi in the Firestorm kinda sounded like Possession from OOTP towards the end?

Can’t wait to buy the soundtrack. I wish they would release it sooner than just before the movie.

Ah well not bad…. But this is not as magical as John Williams’ track…and hedwig’s theme has now become Ginny’s theme??!!?

I would like to hear the rest of “When Ginny Kissed Harry” and the Slug Club music. The guitar version of Harry’s theme sound very lovely with the strings, more intimate than OotP’s “The Kiss” and its generous use of celesta.

“Journey to the Cave” and “Dumbledore’s Farewell” both kind of made me shiver a little. The music is always so important to the mood of the films, and this soundtrack seems really promising. Hurry up, July!

Guess That Book

"Kreacher did not see Young Master," he said, turning around and bowing to Fred. Still facing the carpet, he added, perfectly audibly, "Nasty little brat of a blood traitor it is."[br]"Sorry?" said George. "Didn't catch that last bit."
