Actor Jason Isaacs has made some new comments about his young Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows co-stars, praising how Dan Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson have handled fame and life in the spotlight. In his typical lighthearted gracious and humorous fashion, Jason joked "that the films would have benefitted if their young stars had been more
rebellious. "The problem with Harry Potter is that there is so little
controversy," he complained at the first night of Sister Act,
the West End musical. "It would be so great for the press if one of
them would go off the rails and end up in rehab, but they are,
actually, just really sweet guys."
In the interview with The Telegraph, Jason Isaacs also continued to speak about the bright future ahead for the Trio, noting:
"They can fall backwards on their mountains of cash," he said. "It
doesn't matter. They're really talented and they've got each other as
close friends, which is all that matters because no one else has been
through the same thing.
"What is amazing about them is that
they are still respectful and have humility and work ethic. I have met
and sometimes worked with their American equivalents and they have none
of those things.
"Daniel will potentially be a great director
or producer. He's very interested in behind-the-camera work. Remember,
they have spent more hours in front of the camera in the last decade
than most people have in their entire career."
Very nice interview with Jason and glad he speaks so highly of the Trio. However, I do agree with Headmistress LemonFaerie. Although a great # of our young American actors have screwed up not all are bad. Raven Symon of Disney’s That so Raven, comes to mind. Since her start on The Cosby Show, she seems to have grown up well in front of the camera. Again it is like LizetM said, it does have a lot to do with upbringing and the company kept. But that’s with anything in life.
Let’s just say this to be fair: Some people have humility, good work ethic and respect. Others do not. Let’s not generalize, ok? Mr. Isaacs has the right to his opinion and I have the right to mine. :)
Though we don’t know much about them, I would guess that the trio’s parents are top notch human beings. The actors who have had major problems also seem to have parents with major issues (not all, but some). For instance, you have parents taking their famous children to 21 and over clubs. I think Drew Barrymore’s mom used to take her to studio 54 when she was 13. It’s not a shock she eventually had major addiction problems. I think if you have well adjusted parents and are surrounded by well adjusted role models, you’re going to turn out okay.
LOL, Obviously the american teen actors he met weren’t Hufflepuffs! Respectful, humble, hard workers…those sound like Hufflepuff traits to me! So I’m publishing breaking Leaky Cauldron News. EXTRAEXTRA!! JASONISAACSSAYSTHETRIOAREALLHUFFLEPUFFS!!
Very nice interview. Im glad none of them rebelled. Not that it isnt common for kids their age and being in the spot light like they have been for so long. Its just refreshing to see them with their heads on straight. Its sad to know we are almost at an end of seeing them work together.
I agree with 9and3qtrs[ROAR] and mollywobble, Raven Symone is a good example and I recall reading an interview where she said that she once said some off collar joke, and her mother set her straight right away and she was almost an adult there. I guess her mother don’t play, and that’s how it should be.
I also met this older gentleman who met Rupert while he was filming CB, and just basically volunteered how humble he was, and that he was a credit to his parents and to his assistant (whom he had met.)
I think Daniel will direct[and produce]eventually,he has sure received a lot
of education on both for about 10 years now,but hope he doesn’t
forsake the front of the camera, I love watching him!!!!!
It would be SO upsetting!
And he ,Jason Issacs, knows there are exceptions to the rule he has stated about
American and English young actors ,but he has had the missfortune,
apparently,of working with American young actors who aren’t,plus he does have a lot of friends in the BIZZ in American, I’m sure they have related many stories to him of what they had to deal with.
There was a blast that made the door rattle on its hinges; Snape was lifted off his feet and slammed into the wall, then slid down it to the floor, a trickle of blood oozing from under his hair. He had been knocked out.[br]Harry looked around. Both Ron an
