Deathly Hallows Updates: Krum Returns, Doge is Cast and More

As production continues on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, we have a few updates today. First, as long expected, TLC can report that Stanislav Ianevski will return as Quidditch champ Viktor Krum. As noted  over the past few weeks, the Weasley wedding is due to be filmed shortly, with the Bulgarian champ due to make an appearance at the event. Also word has reached TLC from his agents that long time UK television character actor David Ryall (photo here) has been cast as Original Order of the Phoenix member and long time friend of Albus Dumbledore, Elphias Doge. Readers will recall of course, Doge writes the piece on Dumbledore for the Daily Prophet, and leads a spirited defense of the late Headmaster in conversation with Auntie Muriel (Matyelock Gibbs) at the wedding.

Finally, as filming has resumed on Deathly Hallows (with interior Malfoy Manor scenes shot last week as we heard on BBC1, 7 Potters and Wedding scenes due in the next few weeks), location shoots are still taking place. Yesterday in Golder's Green Park in London, England quick exterior filming took place, as noted by these high res photos of actress Emma Watson as Hermione Granger. Thanks JC for the pics!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part One will be released November, 2010, with DH Part Two released July, 2011.

Oh good good :) I’m glad to hear Krum’s in. It seems like Yates is trying to bring everyone back! Good thing too.

@weasley boy; Charlie was Bill’s best man in the book, but there has been absolutely no rumour of casting him, so I don’t hold out too much hope there.

This news about Krum and the casting of Doge is great though.

It’s all great that there is going to Krum and and everyone but I mean it so sucks that in the movies Bill is no where to be found or mentioned and with that ,they burned down the Burrow in HBP I mean wtf I just hope they do the DH much much much better.

It’s good to know Stanislav Ianevski is returning … the wedding scene should be really great to see :)
I didnt really have a clear picture of how I imagined Elphias Doge to look. So, it’s interesting to see how the movie people imagine him. I checked out the pic of David Ryall because I dont know who he is and, he looks as though he’ll make a good Doge.
It’s cool that DH Part 1 is going to be released only just over a year after HBP yay

I think this is great news – and I sincerely hope, since Elphias and Auntie Muriel (not to mention Bill/Fleur) have significant scenes in DH, that they just aren’t in the background. I just remember reading articles on here (remember when they cast Sanguini and he was a “blink and you miss him” extra in HBP) getting excited and then seeing it slightly different. HOWEVER, it seems like DH is approaching things a LOT differently than the other films. For this, I remain cautiously optimistic! :)

I’m definitely excited about this! Can’t wait to see the Krum-Hermione-Ron interaction and Ron whisking Hermione off to the dance floor! @Aliyah95 Would I have loved it if Bill had been in GoF and HBP? Sure, but there’s no reason why Bill and Fleur’s impending nuptials can’t be mentioned at the start of the film. It’s done in “normal”, one-shot films so it can be done here too. I also don’t know why everyone is so worried about the Burrow being burned down. The Wesleys ARE wizards you know. A swish here and flick there and voilà, a brand new Burrow! ;)

I love a bit of Ron/Hermione action too. Will be pretty funny seeing Ron get all miffed about him again, the movie audience would lap it up. I love the way they are trying to cast everyone back from the 7 movies
What the hell are those Emma pictures from. Hermione walking through a park on her own upset? Maybe she’s just sent her parents off to Australia or the like

Elphias Doge is in very capable hands, David Ryall as a supporting actor is very familiar face.

How are they going to fit in the Bill/Fleur wedding if there was not mention of it in the previous movies? But, on the bright side, that’s great news that Krum is back!
