We have several updates today regarding the upcoming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. First, thanks to the National Media Museum and TLC reader James we know of a brand new video interview with actor Matt Lewis, (Update: now available here in our galleries) who addresses his role as Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter films. Matt also reflects on filming for Deathly Hallows, as well as weighing in on Half-Blood Prince, IMAX and much more.
Thanks much to Amanda and the crew at ThewlisRox.netwho are reporting that filming for the wedding of Bill & Fleur in Deathly Hallows will take place on August 10th. This information comes from staff at the Harry Potter exhibit in Chicago, who told the fans a costume worn by actor David Thewlis in his role as Remus Lupin was needed back in England on this date to be worn for the scene in Deathly Hallows. In addition,TLC can report that filming for this scene will take place over several days in August, with Domhnall Gleeson (Bill), Clemence Posey (Fleur) Natalia Tena (Tonks), David Thewlis (Remus), Matyelock Gibbs(Muriel), James and Oliver Phelps (Gred & Forge) Mark Williams (Arthur) Julie Walters (Molly), Stanislav Ianevski (Viktor Krum) and David Ryall (Doge) due on set as well as the Trio (Dan Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint as Harry, Hermione and Ron) who will be on hand (along with others such as Bonnie Wright as Ginny and Evanna Lynch as Luna, and possibly Rhys Ifans as Xeno although several of his scenes have already been filmed) for what is shaping up to be a fabulous wedding sequence, extra waiters, musicians, dancing and even Veelas to boot! Readers will recall of course, we saw the filming of the Trio in flight from the wedding last April on location in London, with those pics of their costumes from the wedding here. Finally, stay tuned as more Seven Potters filming is due within the next few days and weeks as well. Phew!
they best explain WHY there has been a lack of both Bill and Fleur. And describe why they getting married. BESTFILMYETANYBODY?
i smell an oscar for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, mmm yes
It’s gonna be a bit weird, isn’t it? I mean, Bill hasn’t been in any of the movies thus far, or even mentioned a bunch like Charlie. And all of a sudden, he’s getting married and everyone’s invited.
Sure, some people may be confused by the very late introduction to Bill and may have even forgotten about Fleur, (actually I really would have preferred a Lupin/Tonks wedding and have them move to Shell Cottage, as they are characters we have got to know previously, and would make Teddy Lupin more significant imo) but I really have confidence they can pull the wedding off perfectly. After all, there really doesn’t have to be any explaining why they are getting married, or who they are, for that matter- for as we know, it is the events at the wedding, and NOT the wedding itself that is significant.
Also, it would be nice if they could include Bill being attacked by Fenrir after Kingsey’s patronus appears, or some other time throughout the film, since we didn’t see Bill in HBP (not to mention the movie audience doesn’t even know that Fenrir’s a werewolf!!!!!)
and Matt Lewis always gives great interviews! It will be a great moment when he climbes out of the tunnel in the Hog’s Head all bloodied and bruised! LOL at Neville talking all casually about getting tortured!
Fun, fun – more filming! I may just be unobservant, but this is the first time I’ve seen Clemence Poesy mentioned in conjunction to Deathly Hallows so it’s good to see she is returning…
Anyway, on the subject of Bill/Fleur, it won’t be particularly hard to introduce really: Bill walks into 4 Privet Drive kitchen, Harry asks who he is, he says he is Bill, Ron’s brother, Harry says Ron had mentioned them, everyone else comes in, Fleur hugs Harry, Harry asks what she’s doing here, she explains she’s getting married to Bill – etc. Film audiences probably don’t really care if it makes sense…
ok one more thing: I DID hear in an interview with David Heyman that the wedding will be at the Burrow. All I can say is that it better NOT be perfectly built back together. Or have a stupid line like, “we used Reparo, and now the house is fixed!” I mean this in the nicest was possible, but I’d really like to see some damage on the house, or that scene will have been a complete waste!

In before “But the Burrow burned down! What are those wizards and witches going to do?!”
The ‘guest’ list sounds canon-compliant to me. I wonder if cousin Barney will show up? I have a feeling they may just drop that. I still don’t get the whole, “Bill has never been introduced” fear. In a standalone movie when the main characters show up at some tertiary characters’ wedding because something more important needs to happen in this scene, do moviegoers lament about not getting a special news alert from the studio telling them, in advance, who these random characters are, how they met, how long they dated and when they got engaged? No. You just accept the wedding for what it is. Sheesh.
Well, they showed Dumbledore fixing the house that Slughorn was at pretty quickly in the beginning of HBP. I bet film audiences will just think the Weasleys did the same thing at their house, even though Slughorn just did damage to the inside of the that muggle house.
Harry rolled over in bed, a series of dazzling new pictures forming in his mind's eye... he had just won the Triwizard Tournament... Cho's face stood out particularly clearly in the blurred crowd, her face glowing with admiration.[br]Harry grinned into hi
