Winners of Crafty Half-Blood Prince Contest Announced

After receiving many splendid entries in our Crafty Half-Blood Prince Costume Contest, Leaky's Crafty Witches and Wizards have chosen the winners of this contest. As we told you previously, this contest put out a call for a reproduction or recreation of an item of clothing or prop from the recently released Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince film. The winners of this contest are as follows:

First Place (50 MyLeaky points): Luna's Lion Hat by gryfndrprefct347

Second Place (25 MyLeaky points):Harry's Advanced Potion Making Book by katandcon

Third Place (10 MyLeaky points): Pygmy Puffs, by Rosie016.

In addition to the winners, an honorable mention goes out to mieljolie for her version of Arnold the Pygmy Puff.

The first place winner will also receive custom avatar made by Leaky's own Crafty Wizard, Glowingnargle.

Thanks,everyone,for the kind remarks about the Potions Book. I was really lucky to find the perfect old chemistry book from 1960 at the Goodwill. It was full of the most gruesome photos; plus it had that portait of “The father of modern chemistry” who made a great Nicolas and Perenell Flamel!!
But there were two really amazing coincidences: first the authors name—-L. Jean BOGERT!!! and second, you can see on page one that the author mentions both “the philosphers stone” and “the elixer of life”!!!! It was tons of fun to enter the contest and I’d like to encourage everyone to try it next time! Thanks again for your kind comments. katandcon

the book! I mean, Luna’s hat is fabulous (if I tried anything like that I’d end with at least four ugly sunflower masks..), but I love the Advanced Potion Making book… so thorough!

These were all wonderful! I predict we’ll also be seeing variations of Luna’s dress between Halloween and Yule Ball season—the one she wore as Harry’s date to Slughorn’s Christmas party.
