There is a curious report today regarding location filming for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. According to the Liverpool Echo, actor Bill Nighy has apparently been on the set for filming at the Birkenhead tunnel area of Liverpool, England.  The paper says "The actor has been busying himself around Liverpool’s famous sites and eateries during breaks from filming the latest Harry Potter movie. He plays Minister of Magic Rufus Scrimgeour in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – the final film in the series – which has been shooting after dark in the Birkenhead tunnel. Insider spotted Bill at Gusto at the Albert Dock, and at the Italian Club on Bold Street where he was chatting to owner Rosaria about his upcoming big screen wizardry."

These scenes at the tunnel are widely believed to be for the Seven Potters sequence in Deathly Hallows. We are working to verify this report and will update with more when we can.

I think they are going to add more scenes for Scrimgeour. They need set-up since he hasn’t been present before. Also, in the book they only mention his death in the background, perhaps we will see it. In the films they have the power to show us what the books reference. Also, with such a great actor, I really hope they take advantage and give him screen time. It would feel like a waste!

Yeah, same here. It’ll be exciting to see though how it actually ends up, with all of these sightings of actors in scenes that they shouldn’t be in.

It’s definitely 7 potters, I live right by Birkenhead and we saw and heard about it. I even went down there to try and get a glimpse!

They were filming part of the chase with Hagrid and Harry on the motorbike, the Seven Potters scene where they all transform and leave Privet Drive was filmed at Leavesden.

The article in the paper is very short and with no real detail, so i think that it may be a case of people jumping to conclusions, taking a few known facts and turning them into a conclusion which itself is not actually a fact.

Well we know for certain Nighy is Scrimgeour and we also know that the 7 potters scene was reportedly underway, I don’t know why he would be in the scene though , unless as someone else stated they are combining some scenes from book 6 into this movie. After all in the movie HP world Fudge is happy as a clam still as Minister and Harry has no idea Voldemort even has a mom so I’d say we’re going to need back stories.

I am absolutely certain that he will make for a perfect Scrimgeour, though I am curious as to why he would appear during the Seven Potters scene.
