Over the years we've brought you news from some of the companies who work on the Harry Potter films, notably the companies who create special effects seen in the movies. One such company, Rising Sun has provided another look at the work they've done for the movies, this time for Harry Potter and the Half-BloodPrince. You can see the meticulous and time consuming work done in creating things such as Dumbledore's wounded hand, and the scene at Slughorn's home at the beginning of movie at this link, or here, then where it says 'launch VFX breakdowns.' or here now in our galleries. Enjoy!
That moment at Slughorn’s home when Dumbledore sweeps the room with his wand and everything gets put back into place is definitely one of the coolest moments of HBP! And it’s also yet another reminder why I fell in love with the wizarding world — moments like that make me go SQUEEEE :) It’s just so COOL, you know. I can’t really put it in words in any language why it makes me feel like so giddy, it just does. I’d give everything I own and then some to be able to do magic in the first place, let alone to do something like that.
Also, I’m very very surprised that they had included that Umbridge on a trick wire thingy from Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes. When I interviewed James and Oliver back in July, they specifically said that the Umbridge on the trick wire was real, it was done with carefully balanced weights. According to James and Oliver, most of the things in the shop were real, CGI was only used for the fireworks and other rather obvious things like that (like the girl on the video whose hair sticks up). I really hope we’ll get to see more making of stuff from the joke shop scene.
Wow that was really cool, just to see the process of how things fit together, especially the scene with Snape,Draco and Harry. It’s just so great to get stuff like this that we sometimes don’t get to see on dvds etc. Thank you Rising Sun!!!
I always liked the special effects in all the harry potter films. And after watching this, I like them even more! Well done to the all people who were involved in bringing all these great scenes to life, and making them as accurate as possible! We fans are forever grateful :)
But from that moment on, Hermione Granger became their friend. There are some things you can't share without ending up liking each other, and knocking out a twelve-foot mountain troll is one of them.
i love behind the scenes stuff!
