Earlier this week, Chris Rankin (Percy Weasley) and Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom) were among those to speak on the Harry Potter Day at Leeds Young People’s Film Festival. In a follow up interview about the event, Chris Rankin mentioned that he was due to finish filming “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” shortly. Talking to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Rankin said, “I finish filming mid-May so there’s not long to go. It will be strange and very sad to say goodbye.”

The Percy Weasley actor also described the Hyde Park Picture House – where the Harry Potter film marathon took place – as “the cinema which time forgot.” Rankin remarked that it was “fantastic” to see grandparents and grandchildren together at the event, “enjoying the films as a family.” You can find the article on the Yorkshire Evening Post website, at this link.

Avatar ImageFifi says: First! :D At least its not May yet. Lol, but it will be very sad when it is May. :(Avatar ImageJessSnape says: It will be very sad when there are no more HP movies to await!! I was already sad bc there were no more books:( I have nothing else to look forward to:(Avatar Imagemolly43 says: So far it's not the end for me. I keep listening to the HP audio cd's over and over. Myself and my co-worker listen to them at our leisure as we drive home from work. I've listened to all seven books at least about three or four times. At this time I'm on HPHBP and my co-worker is just finishing HPDH. No I think I'll just keep going with my HP audio like the "energizer bunny". But I know I'll be sad to break up as the family they have been throughout the years. Maybe they will think about having a HP family reunion once a year; that way if some can't make it one year then they may be able to make it the next year.Avatar Imagemolly43 says: corr'n: So far it's not the end for me. That must feel so odd for them to say that they won't be filming for that character anymore...Avatar Imageharrypotterfreak101 says: They sound so heartbroken...... "I finish filming mid-May so there's not long to go. It will be strange and very sad to say goodbye." In my opinion I agree also, saying goodbye to the character you have been recognized throughout the world as for ten years is just so horrible. Avatar Imagecheeserpleaser says: I look forward to seeing him give his final performance as Percy!Avatar Imagekiwimci says: I'm gonna enjoy the time that we've got left looking forward to the last 2 movies. Oh this is gonna suck big time when it endsAvatar Imagemaddie2ere says: i dont want hp to end! but i am looking forward to the 7th movies.but it would be really cool if there were books about the kids:)Avatar ImageRoseann says: SOOOO SAD the HP movies and books are at an end.......or are they? Avatar ImageAlice Weasley says: This makes me a little sad- the end is near! And I'm also sorry that I couldn't go to this event, it sounds like it was super fun!Avatar ImageFilmGirl27 says: This is so unbearably sad... :(Avatar Imagealicia00 says: awwww its soo sad its all most overAvatar Imagebudgie says: I am glad that they get to complete the cycle, but agree that the ending of something so good is sad.Avatar Imagenealiezealbie says: although chris says hes going to be done filming in may, it wont really seem like its over until the last credits roll on part 2. then, it will probably really sink in. and i will most likely be bawling.Avatar ImageFabulous_DEAR-HP says: So saddd Avatar Imagegirlatty1 says: It's sad for all of us Chris.Avatar ImageNutsAboutHarry says: Chris may not be in the epilogue scene as in the book Percy only 'could be heard loudly discoursing about broomstick regulations' he mght do some voice work but it's not 100% yet he'll be in the final scene, I hope he is though. Perce is one of my favourite characters. Avatar ImageToNkS_rip says: must be sad saying goodbye. the cinema thing sounds like it was really awesome. cant w8 4 deathly hallows!Avatar Imagehewy says: Not sure I'll be able to contain myself when at the end of 7b it says "The End" as it really will be THE END!Avatar ImageAvanelleWood says: If I feel as though there is going to be a huge void in my life after Deathly Hallows is released, I can only imagine how it must be for these actors-most of whom have grown up playing these characters. I don't think there's any doubt that Dan, Emma, and Rupert will have brilliant careers ahead of them, but I often wonder what will happen to the less well known members of the cast. Avatar ImageFlittwick says: I have been stuck in Leeds genersl Infirmary for an age and i didnt knopw this was happening consequently i missed it But best wished to Chris and Matt !Avatar ImagecOoLiO_bEans1494 says: I really look forward to his role in the movies. Percy was one of the many characters that I always thought was perfectly cast :) When he said that it was "very sad to say goodbye" it shows how passionate he was about the movie. It has been a great ride and an oppurtunity to have great actors :) Avatar ImageFlaming Phoenix says: It IS strange to think of it coming to an end. Now I really don't have anything to look forward to, at least the magic never really dies. Avatar ImageFresca says: The good news is that Chris tells us that the first installment of Deathly Hallows is due out in November! That means it won't be far behind for North America! I know it is sad that the movie filming is wrapping up, but we still have two more movies, and always have our HP books. Matthew Lewis has really grown into a hottie!Avatar ImageMadam Snape says: I'd love to see Percy's final joke witnessed by Fred... It will be a remarkable scene, very strong and intense. I hope they live up to the atmosphere J.K. Rowling intended for that moment... I can't believe it's coming to an end...Avatar ImageGiant Squid says: I'm sure it will be sad!Avatar ImageSmitch says: Sigh. Wouldn't you have loved to be at Hyde Park Picture House? And if it's the "cinema that time forgot", it sounds absolutely wonderful. Take me there! Avatar ImageLove is the greatest magic says: They haven't really made much out of the fact Percy disowned his family. Hopefully the fact they have split DH will mean there is enough time to explain the situation. Avatar ImageLittle Light says: =)
