After ten years of production, filming of the Harry Potter movies is set to wrap today, June 12th. According to a twitter update by actor Warwick Davis (Professor Flitwick and Griphook), principal photography on “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” was completed today. He tweets:

The end of an Era – today is officially the last day of principal photography on ‘Harry Potter’ – ever. I feel honoured to be here as the director shouts cut for the very last time. Farewell Harry & Hogwarts, it’s been magic! x

“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I” will arrive in theaters November 19, 2010, and “Deathly Hallows” Part II” will be released on July 15, 2011.

OMG Avatar ImageScarStruck says: IT'S OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!Avatar ImageRainaEmms says: Ten years and they were lucky to keep pretty much all the major and even minor actors through the series! I always love movie series that stick with that sort of continuity. Congrats to all involved with the series, and in particular the big three who we've seen grow up almost on camera the last ten years. I can't wait to see these last two movies and then sit down some day and watch all eight back-to-back!!Avatar ImageMoose_Starr says: Oh my gosh ... it is the end of the world. Well that's kind of how it feels. That word *ever* in Warwick Davis's quote just feels so dramatic and awful :( Meh ... I am delusional so, I'm still hoping for something else HP to come along and rescue us from The End Of All Things.Avatar Imageblackhair says: Well its an end of an era. We are gonna miss Harry and Hogwarts Avatar Imagemynameisluna says: Thankfully, its not the end for all of us yet - there's still a year! (: Avatar Imagemollywobble says: Wow. Congrats to everyone who works on these films. A decade of great movies. Thank you so much for your hard work and dedication. Hey Leaky or anyone for that matter, how does one go about writing a big thank you from all the fans? We should start a thank you website or something to show are appreciation. Avatar Imagepotterforpresident says: Remember, everyone! It's not over until every last Harry Potter fan in the world doesn't care about it anymore. It's like what Harry said: "He'll never be gone. Not as long as those who remain are loyal to him." So let's keep the fandom alive, people! HARRY POTTER LIVES!!!Avatar Imageblue4t says: That's so sad. They'll never be Ron, Harry, and Hermione ever again. We still have the actual last two movies to watch, the games to play, and the park to visit, but this is signaling the end. I'll always be fan and I hope Dan, Emma, and Rupert (as well as Tom) can keep their careers strong. Avatar ImageBeckster235 says: awwwww...its the end of an era officially now once the last movie comes out. This is injustice!Avatar Imageakcorr says: Starting reading the whole series again and just finished book 1. Damn these books are fantastic!Avatar ImagePollytomat says: At first, the end of Lost... "It's just a show but it feels like loosing a friend"... It was very sad... But I survived. I don't imagine how I will felt when i see the last part of DH. "The end of an Era" - so true! And if in the case of Lost there will be some substitute, another good show to talk about, HP is irreplaceable. SAAAAAAAAAD! .Avatar ImageravenclawChyna says: Maybe she'll write a whole series of books with them coming back to Hogwarts as teachers and a fresh batch of students!!!Avatar ImagetheREALGinnyWeasley says: Aww no!!!!!!! *tears*Avatar ImageJessBlogsBooks says: I didn't think I would actually shed a tear over this, because as fans we can go back to the books, films, etc all the time if we wanted... but I did when I read Warwick's tweets this morning. I will always love the books and the films and we;ve still got the encyclopedia to come!! xxAvatar Imagethewandofdestiny says: I'm not really sure how to react to that. It can't be true!!! the diva sobs and sobs and sobs. Avatar Imagenominominus says: does anyone have the feeling of something slipping away slowly and you can't do anything to stop it. I certainly do when I think of the fact that the filming is finished and I usually shy away from thinking abou one year from know , the moment the lights of the movie theater turns on and everyone starts towards the door. I'll be sure to be nailed to my seat with eyes sayin*no..no it didn't really end..stupid people come back... maybe there is an extra clip along the credits* or something like that :(((Avatar ImageNumeroUnoFan says: awesome that ive been here the whole time but sad its over deep stuff manAvatar ImageLucida says: Oh man, this is so sad and happy at the same time. :SAvatar Imagepotterfan4lyfe says: NOOOOOOO ITS ALL OVER! i think i might start crying here )'=Avatar Imagemollypooh12347 says: This series has had the biggest impact on my life. Ten years of magic and adventure have come to a close...but I know that these movies and books will never die. I'm eternally grateful that all the producers and directors held so much compassion and hope for these movies, that they could grow in a way that taught children and adults alike the meaning of love, hope, friendship, compassion, trust, and so much more. I'm so happy that the crew and actors stayed on the films and put so much time and effort into this world wide phenomena. Thank you to everyone who poured their hearts into the final installment. <3 The fans will never forget the past ten years. For so many of us..this is our childhood =)Avatar Imagemollypooh12347 says: This series has had the biggest impact on my life. Avatar ImageOddRavenclaw222 says: I dread the moment November and June roll around. I wish the time would keep doubling and we'd never have to say good-bye to the movies. :-(Avatar ImageHermione Elizabeth says: It's definitely bittersweet and shocking that all this has ended (filming wise).. after 10 long years. :( But Harry still lives on no matter what. <3Avatar ImageLemonFaerie says: The article made my cry, then this from @accioangela: <<“He’ll never be gone. Not as long as those who remain are loyal to him.” So let’s keep the fandom alive, people! HARRY POTTER LIVES!!!>> made me cry even harder. It's like we've all graduated from Hogwarts now. We've gone through every moment from beginning to end and now it really is the end. I can't believe it. But I am hanging on to the quote, above, and all the friends I've made here through Harry. Looking forward to seeing everyone in their post-HP careers!Avatar ImageCellar Door says: Oh my God, this is heartbreaking. Thank you guys for the good work done in the past ten years; the movies might not be on par with the books, but they have been a great source of entertainment. Again, thank you. You will be missed.Avatar Imagekleigh629 says: Well at least on the bright side, we still have to see the films. And I'm sure even though filming has wrapped, you can bet the cast will still be making plenty of appearances for the opening of the theme park and before the release of both halves of the final film. So it's not completely over yet. But still a little sad to see it starting to end...Avatar Imagehermy007 says: holy crap, i can't believe it's over. it's ironic, when i started reading this i was a scrawny little 4th grader, and now, here i am, a year from college this is crazy i tell you craziness! by the time i see the hogwarts express leave for the last time, i'll officialy be an adult. it'll be my induction into the adult world. yippee.Avatar Imagehermy007 says: course, i know adults love hp too, but still. harry will be all grown up, and so will i. (sniff sniff) :(Avatar ImageHydrus says: I only got teary when I finished the last book. Well, actually, when Hedwig died, and then... all the others. I already know how it ends, of course, but I am really excited to see the movies. I wonder if I should stop going to the HP movies as a Slytherin and maybe dress as an adult character? Avatar ImageHydrus says: I only got teary when I finished the last book. Well, actually, when Hedwig died, and then... all the others. Sad that it's the end, excited to see the end. But Harry Potter will *ALWAYS*Avatar Imagebleedblackwax says: This makes me sad and excited at the same time. Sad that it's the end, excited to see the end. But Harry Potter will *ALWAYS* live on in my life, even if the books and movies are no more.Avatar ImagePeverell62442 says: I CANT BELIEVE ITS OVER I'm going to be depressed for days. Yesterday when we learned Tom Felton was done I started to get depressed and I was so nervous to check Leaky today. this makes me sick to my stomach (sobs in corner) :*(Avatar ImageHBPFan says: Maybe it was the last day, but the magic will always live on..Avatar Imageroflravenclaw says: Oh my gosh thats sooo sad!! I am grateful to Jo Rowling for her creation and for being the kind of person she is. She set the standards and as a result we have had a truly remarkable literary and filmic phenomenon and talent and inspiration has simply poured out of the people involved in it. Those of you who grew up with Harry will have wonderful memories to carry with you into the future and share with your own children. Take heart, Harry will be the Boy Who Lived for a long time to come. Avatar Imageatarigurl05 says: What will life be when there is no countdown to keep up with, no anticipation for the next movie, waiting for hours to be immensely satisfied by 2 hours of Harry. Oh the horror that will occur in the next year so many people will be lost!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Avatar ImageJillxoxo says: So sad... I do hope they're all able to attend the final two premieres. Maybe one day I'll look back at this post and smile at the memory. Harry Potter has been such a big part of my life, and i thank the leaky cauldron from the bottom of my heart for the wonderful place they have allowed me to go and love harry potter. Harry has always been around what is going to happen now? Avatar ImageBlack_wind says: Sad...there goes 10 years of my life...But,we will not let the fandom die, right?:)Avatar ImageScottMan says: I don't know, I'm really kind of non-plussed about it. Almost relieved. The series has treated the actors and crew well. It was bound to end, and stretching it out much longer would have been worse. Yes, it is about time. A year from now we will all have seen it. Many of them have projects lined up already. And we'll have Harry Potter for all time. :)Avatar ImageI love my Spectra Specs says: ...Wow..... ... I cannot believe we have ceased to hear about all they have to offer for this franchise. I cannot believe that, as with the books, we are quickly approaching the end. However, ends represent beginnings and on that note I do commend everyone who has contributed to the films for helping create outstanding adaptations of the novels and wish them the best of luck as they advance in their careers.Avatar ImageLunaLuver says: OMG its over!!! I just hope their stories are created in my lifetime. Avatar Imagehewy says: It's sad that the movies have come to an end (actually SOB is more like it.) It is remarkable that the same cast, with the exception of the late Richard Harris, has remained the same for the last 10 years (this really is a feat and a half) as no other franchise has been able to pull this off (ie. 007)! The films have given voice and face to characters that we love and will continue to love through the years and will see in our minds eye everytime we reread the books. Many thanks to JK Rowling and the cast and crew of the films, it has been a great ride!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The movies, however, are based on the books, so they can change minor things and add scenes in the movies to add the excitement and suspense. Although, the movies were excellent. I am going to die being a Harry Potter fan, along with being a Jo Rowling fan! This magic doesn't end here, no certianly not! :P ...Let it live! Avatar Imagekiwimci says: I agree- a thank you website should be made. I grew with this series and it was always there during so much for the past 10 years, as each one changed I did too. Good luck to all the great actors / actresses! :) I hope they make more movies though, with all of them together! (Dont know how that will work out though...) Still, it's been a great experience! :( Great work Jo! :) "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I" will arrive in theaters November 19, 2010, and "Deathly Hallows" Part II" will be released on July 15, 2011." ....Avatar ImageNuttyAsSP says: Something to ponder ...
