The Daily Mail is reporting that a Harry Potter wrap party was held yesterday to mark the end of filming the series. Many of the actors, such as Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley), Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy), Jim Broadbent (Professor Slughorn), and David Thewlis (Remus Lupin) were there, as well as J. K. Rowling. The wrap party was held at the Leavesden Film Studios where all eight Harry Potter movies were filmed, and had carnival rides for the guests to enjoy. You can read more about it here.

I'm surprised no one asked her to keep it long until the press for part 2 was done, though I guess it'll have time to grow back out before November. I mean, it makes her eyes look more expressive, but it's just so not-Emma.Avatar ImageHermione Elizabeth says: I hope they filmed this or took lots of pics for the extras on the DH movies..... I bet it was an awesome but sad time of course for them all.Avatar ImageLunaLupinTonks says: SniffsniffsniffsniffsniffsniffsniffBWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!Avatar ImageIssa says: so sad to see the movies officially wrapped. Hermione Granger may have been defined by her hair, but Emma Watson is not. Now that she is free to change her hair I am not surprised that she has leapt at the chance. I am glad that such a remarkable franchise run of eight films with the same cast in prinicipal characters has marked the end of filming in a suitable way. I hope that they all had a fabulous time.Avatar ImageValeria-Johanna says: Yes, the actors, crew and all involved have given so much care and commitment over these ten years. I hope they had a lovely day, and that the friendships they made will last.Avatar Imagekiwimci says: Christine, were you there?Avatar Imagej@m says: Emma's new look is pretty awful. If she's smart she'll let it grow back for the premiere.Avatar Imagej@m says: Emma's new look is pretty awful. If she's smart she'll let it grow back for the premiere.Avatar ImageFilmGirl27 says: That sounds great! I bet they had a lot of fun! :) So sad though :( This has to be the last time the entire HP cast will be together! *cries*Avatar Imagehalfbloodprincesss says: end of an era and the beginning of another generation i honestly think that they should rename Generation Y to Generation HP because it is the people born in the years 1976-2000 and that is what compiles the majority of the people who have grown up reading, watching, and loving harry potterAvatar ImageMakoRain says: Aw.... If only HP wasn't through. Hopefully JK will write a prequel or something to keep us all happy.Avatar Imagemoglet says: Seen Emma's haircut close up, it really suits her and she looks very beautiful.Avatar Imageharrypotterfreak101 says: I don't want Harry Potter to end! I loved it! Now after a year or two..........Harry Potter will be legend.......Avatar Imagenellythemarrow says: Fair thee well, filming. Avatar Imagemystiqueminx says: cnt beleive the harry potter saga is ending,,,,,btw why did they not mention emma?? Why wasnt she there at the party??Avatar ImageWeenyOwl says: Rupert in particular looks like he was crying big time - check out those dark circles under his eyes!Avatar Imagejhangelgurl says: Wow that must of been really sad party!Avatar ImageJeannine says: @ kmac23va...Why should Emma not cut her hair if she wants,,,she is an 'actress portraying a character'...she isn't Hermonie... and it 'does' look like Emma ...she looks great with it short. Let go!!!! ....these people are not the charcters they portray.. Emma,Dan and Rupert have the right to do what they like with thier hair...Potter fans do not own them. So glad they all got the chance to say 'good-buy' to each other. It's been amazing to see what all thier hard work produced thru the years ...the cast,,crew,,and all involved should be very proud of what they accalmplished! Bravo! to all of them!!! Am looking forward to the thier two films! and to what the future brings to all actors involved...may it be wondeful!!Avatar ImageHogwartsChicka13 says: im glad that they got to celebrate and have a party for it but its kinda sad since it makes it really official and that the phenomenon of harry potter is really over. but unlike some other series i think harry potter will be a lasting phenomenon and will will live on for years as long as people keep the spirit of harry potter alive even though the book and movies are finished. Its going to be sad when it all ends next summer, but this is an incredible series that NOTHING COULD EVER TOP! i love u harry potter, its been a great ride and i still dont think that i'll ever accept it as over!!!!:) I loooovvveee harrrryy pottert!!!!! Avatar Imagemoglet says: @hermy, Emma WAS at the party, the press photographers must not have recognised her, they were camped out opposite the main gate pointing their cameras at all the cars as they went in and out. It was not a sad occasion it was a happy and thoroughly enjoyable one:DAvatar ImageJaeliaVerdette says: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! *SNIFFS* I don't think the actors realize how lucky and fortunate they are to be Harry Potter movies. I mean sure, they understand, but not like a hardcore fan like you or me.Avatar ImageGiant Squid says: That is a lovely way to end an amazing decade! Its over :( Avatar ImageFresca says: I sincerely hope that all the actors who were at the wrap up party had a great time, despite the weather and the end of shooting the movies. I hope that some of them have made friends that will last a lifetime due to working together on the films so long. It is great that JKR was there too! Avatar ImageMeggie the Goose says: Awesome awesome awesome but so SAD!!!Avatar Imagemoglet says: I didn't see JKR, and I didn't hear anyone at the event mention she was there, I only missed the first 45 mins of the party and stayed to the end, so I'm wondering if this is a newspaper presuming Jo was involved when actually the party was courtesy of Alan Horn and Warner Bros. All the reports (which are based on that in the Daily Mail) say Emma wasn't there, which is totally wrong so I'm taking it that the bit mentioning Jo is probably not accurate either.Avatar Imagecauldronbum says: i dont want it too end!! :(Avatar ImageEmmaline10248 says: i cant beleive its over .... it just dosent seem right. i have grown up with hp i mean it never occured to me that it would end. as for emma's hair cut i love it. it is something new that she has wanted to do for a while it seems.i rember what it was like when i cut my hair really short. lol it was fun. any way i glad that the group got togther they look like they had fun.Avatar Imagekbicprez says: The Daily Mail never fails. This story is essentially paparazzi pics and not much else. The “reporter” was obviously not at the party. Why does anyone rely on that rag for news reporting?? Avatar Imagemoglet says: No indeed reporters were not at the party:D the photographers just camped out opposite the main entrance and pointed their cameras at every car as it came out to the road, that's why everyone looks serious, you have to concentrate as you drive out onto the road! They obviously had the long lenses pointing at the fairground rides from the roadway that goes along past the side, well it's funny because there is a lovely high bank of grass that totally prevented them seeing the people, so they just try to make it all seem as if they know what's going on! Believe me many of the actors would probably have stayed away if the press had been allowed in, as it was they had a really good time, actually able to relax and have fun.Avatar ImageNot Slytherin says: Sounds like lots of fun, but I hate being reminded that it's over! :o(
