There are now only 48 days left until “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I” hits theaters! We are posting a quote from the first half of the book every day in celebration and to give us a chance to discuss and ponder the final book as it goes to film. Here is today’s quote!

And in the instant that he looked away, his eyes raking the tangled mess for a sword hilt, a ruby, she moved weirdly: He saw it out of the corner of his eye; panic made him turn and horror paralyzed him as he saw the old body collapsing and the great snake pouring from the place where her neck had been.

Now I can't wait to watch it in the movie! It's gonna be EPIC!Avatar Imagenealiezealbie says: i have to say, i am honestly a little nervous of how this scene will transfer to film. in my head, this scene was disgustingly-scary...i hope they do it justice, even though i might have my hands covering my face while it is playing...poor bathilda... :/ Avatar ImageFleur-de- Lily says: these 48 days will be sheer torture!!!Avatar ImageGryffindor_Girl_xx says: AHHH!!! Scared me stupid.Avatar ImageJane_Potter says: That was so scary... or my imagination made it so scary!!!Avatar Imagehp931 says: This was so scary I had nightmeres for a week. The word pouring makes iot even scaryier. Avatar ImageRin68nyr says: They really are choosing some great quotes!Avatar ImageLost Northern says: i love this part because its the second time that harry think hermione is dead XD the first time was in the 5 book XD i love when harry think that everyone is dead XDAvatar ImageBewareoftheNargles says: this scene was so easy to imagine, though I probably didn't imagine it similarly to anyone else...so I bet in the film it will be completely different...but if it is as freaky as I thought it was it'll still be great!!Avatar ImageJK.jr. says: Perfect quote for a chilly october day :)Avatar Imagedumbledork31 says: Can't wait to see that part!!!!!!!!!!!!! 48 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =]Avatar Imagegreenfinch says: This was the scariest scene in any of the books, I swear.Avatar Imageratorr2 says: This was a scene worthy of a thriller movie.Avatar ImageSohumdore says: ahh!!!! How wil lthey do this in the movie?!Avatar Imagetealover says: Ugh - the smell, the mess, the disbelief in what he (Harry) is seeing - Rowling's words are so simple yet so descriptive. She is a master of suspense and nightmarish horror! And people think these are just children's stories! Avatar ImageFresca says: Poor Bathilda. What a horrible way to end her life! It just shows that Voldemort has no understanding whatever of the value of life. Bathilda was used by Rita Skeeter, and in death, the poor woman's body is used to lure Harry in. It is amazing that he and Hermione escaped from Bathilda's house! It really is a sad reflection of our world today. Her neighbours weren't looking out for her very well at all! I loved this chapter as it really was creepy and exciting!Avatar ImageMaxtina Potter says: OMG, this chapter was amazing... and SO heartbreaking...Avatar ImageWeenyOwl says: Considering what they can do with CG effects these days, and the fact that the movie's in 3D, I'm expecting this scene to be truly gross, with Bathilda's body sort of crumpling and imploding as the snake pours out. It will likely be too nightmarishly scary to watch for young ones. I wonder how much the studio is willing to tone down to keep the movie's rating at PG instead of PG-13.Avatar Imagefredluver14 says: omg they need to have this part in the movie or i will die!!!!!Avatar ImageAmertume017 says: I'm not going to forget this moment, either. It took me by surprise. I read the book a couple of times, but all the same, I kept thinking Bathilda really was Bathilda, always forgetting it was another one of Voldemort's tricks. I say, it's a good thing we know Harry survives; I'm always so certain he really is done when that old woman turns into a snake (er, no, actually, the snake comes out of her.... doesn't it remind you of "Man In Blanck", with the alien inside the man?). Anyway; I wonder how that scene will come out in the film. It was quite scary in the books; might be even scarier in the film (that's how it usually is).Avatar Imagewizardingwheezes says: it is so intense!!! scaring me, and making me more impatient for the movie!Avatar Imagewizardingwheezes says: it is so intense!!! scaring me, and making me more impatient for the movie!Avatar ImageLonewolf_ says: It'll be pretty interesting to see this in the film xdAvatar Imageharrypotterfreak101 says: I hated that part so much. It felt like I was acutally there.Avatar Imagetealover says: Were Harry and Hermione disguised as muggles with the help of polyjuice potion when "Bathilda" took them to her house?Avatar ImageGiant Squid says: Such a scary part! Avatar ImageAsria says: This was so scary! But it will be fun to watch (I think), especially if my friend is taking her mother. She almost fell of her chair while watching hbp ; )Avatar Imagemystiqueminx says: a very creepy sceneAvatar ImageSmitch says: PURE creepiness! Yuck... Love these quotes! Avatar ImageDawna says: That scene creeps me out!Avatar Imageemilykirstyn says: i cannot wait to see how they portray this on-screen!Avatar ImageLunalovegoodsLair says: 48 days? Oh my goodnes.... I feel old. ^.^Avatar Imageksddancer says: This will be an interesting part in the movie.Avatar ImageNumeroUnoFan says: i never saw this comingAvatar ImageSilvery Doe says: Epic can no longer describe what this movie will be. We must now refer to it as epicly epic!Avatar Imageaughra says: Ugh! That sick, horrific moment before Harry understands he's been tricked...Avatar Imagemoonysmusician says: Many people tell how frightened they were at other scenes in the series or how scary Quirrell drinking the unicorn blood might be for kids, but in the whole time I read the series, I was horrified at this. 9-year-old me took the fetus GoF Voldemort totally in stride...16-year-old me was terrified of Nagini!Bathilda. Avatar Imagejoeys_mommy says: Creepy!Avatar Imagemoonysmusician says: Many people tell how frightened they were at other scenes in the series or how scary Quirrell drinking the unicorn blood might be for kids, but in the whole time I read the series, I was horrified at this. 9-year-old me took the fetus GoF Voldemort totally in stride...16-year-old me was terrified of Nagini!Bathilda.
