The “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1″ has taken the top spot at the box office this weekend, for the latest film grossed a total of $125.1 million in its first three days of release. The AP reports that studio estimates put the film’s international weekend gross at $205 million, bringing the worldwide estimated box office receipts at $330.1 million. Quoteage:

In terms of domestic revenue, “Deathly Hallows: Part 1″ came in ahead of the series’ best previous debut of $102.7 million for 2005′s “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.”

But factoring in today’s higher admission prices, the latest movie had roughly the same size audience as the franchise’s best previous draws ” “Goblet of Fire” and 2001′s “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone,” which launched the series. “Deathly Hallows” and those two earlier movies each sold around 16 million tickets in their first weekend.

Overseas markets for “Deathly Hallows” were led by a $28 million opening in Great Britain, $21.8 million in Germany, $14.8 million in Australia, $14 million in Japan and $12.3 million in Russia.

I'm in looooove it was amazing Avatar ImageBless_the_children says: This was awesome - I'm so glad I went to the midnight showing :). It wouldn't make much sense to someone who hadn't read the books, but to the majority of viewers who have actually read the amazingness that is DH, this has been the most intense of the films. The special effects and the greif are so very overwhelming.Avatar ImageSlyBones says: I want to see it again. lol. I saw it once but thats not enough! XDAvatar ImageTrendHater73 says: As a series, they're expected to pass the $6 billion mark by the end of this month. That will make them the highest grossing franchise ever. I can't tell you how proud I am! lol.Avatar ImageDavidTheUnready says: finally got to see it tonight, hell yes definately worth the wait even though I was quizzed by two friends (who had not read any of the books) throughout the movie! I've offered to lend them the books in the hope they will read them before part 2. Will see it again during the week sans interruption.Avatar ImageSindi says: Not so surprised but very very happy and proud of what all us Harry Potter fans have done together! :D This is amazing and they deserve sooo much more :D I will be going to see the film again next weekend and maybe again after that :D GO HARRY!!! :'DAvatar ImageMaryMalfoy says: Yay! It completely deserves it. It's a brilliant film, and I hope to see it for a third time next weekend :D Avatar ImageRowling Stones says: That makes DH the #1 grossing film for an opening weekend more than eclipse, new moon, and star warsAvatar ImageFigment says: Great movie!!! Good to know that my husband and I are part of the great opening weekend.Avatar Imagechris_anderson says: Not to impressed with ron's line "only 3 more to go" horcruxes The last movie and this one showed the slughorn and riddle mentioning 7 horcruxes. List of destroyed ones 1. riddle's diary 2. the ring 3. the locket Remaining ones 4. hufflepuff's cup 5. ravenclaw's diadem 6. nagini 7. harry potter The last bit of soul in voldemort Should ron's line be "only 4 to go"? What horcruxes are they including in part 2 of the deathly hallows? Anyone know yet? I am worried the makers of the film will ruin it for us.Avatar Imagechris_anderson says: Oh yes and i am greatly disturbed why would a wizard or a witch be burried in a church grave yard? Did lilly and james attend church service there regularly?Avatar ImageTrendHater73 says: Chris, they don't know that Harry is a horcrux. Avatar ImageScottMan says: They probably did, Chris. I don't see why they wouldn't.Avatar Imagechris_anderson says: slughorn said isn't it bad enough to muder a person once let alone split the soul into 7 pieces. Ron was wrong 7 minus the 3 destroyed that leaves 4. Not 3 more to go.Avatar Imagechris_anderson says: Which are they including in the next movie by the way?Avatar ImageTrendHater73 says: I would imagine Ravenclaw's diadem, nagini, and Hufflepuff's cup will all be there. I remember seeing the flames ripping through the room of requirement in one of the commercials. They showed Bellatrix's hair floating down toward Hermione, so they will go to get the cup. We shall see how it plays out though.Avatar Imagerotfang07 says: @chris_anderson; Spoilers - They filmed a scene of Ron and Hermione in the Chamber of Secrets where they destroy the cup horcrux with a basilisk tooth. Clips of the diadem being burnt by fiendfire are already online, and Neville chopping off Nagini's head was also filmed. That takes care of the last 3 horcruxes. A horcrux is not a piece of soul. There remains a remnant of soul within Voldemort, and the piece of Voldemort's soul within Harry. A horcrux is a specially chosen container of a piece of soul that requires a nasty series of spells to create. So, there are 3 horcruxes and 2 bits of Voldemort soul left to kill off (one in Voldemort and one in Harry). Harry and Voldemort are both oblivious to the fact Harry has a part of Voldemort's soul within him. Rowling was clear in several interviews: Harry is not a Horcrux. As for Harry's parents being buried in the graveyard, that is taken from the book. Rowling does not force-feed her Christian beliefs on readers, but it's clear from the passage on the Potters' gravestones that they, or whoever buried them, were familiar with scripture. Avatar Imageladydars says: Oh man I hope this movie gets the praise it deserves - so good!Avatar Imagebooks_r_my_friends says: just got back from seeing it a second time and it was just as amazing if not more!!!!Avatar Imagehewy says: Just saw the movie for the first time and it was totally amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! @rotfang07 thank you for setting the above folks straight. I can save space to say this is the best movie since SS. This, of course, is just my opinion.Avatar Imagecandypotter says: i love it.. accio part 2 accio part 2Avatar Imageashim_gryffindor says: rotfang07 is so right!!! AMAZING FILM!!!! Deserves every single bit and more! Go Go Gryffindor! Go Go Gryffindor (I bet you guys can recognise where this chant was from ^^) Harry Potter rules!! ÏŸAvatar ImageMudblood_and_proud says: GO AUSSIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you bloody ripperzzz!!!!!!!!!! loved loved loved the movie and i also saw it 20 times!!! seeing it rite now!!!!!!!!!!!!Avatar Imageashim_gryffindor says: ϟ Avatar Imageashim_gryffindor says: Hmmm.... How do you make that scar sign? I tried using "ϟ", didn't really work. Anyway... GO HARRY POTTER!! I will wait patiently for DH part 2. In the mean time, I will read the series for the 9th time... never gets old, never gets boring =)Avatar Imageashim_gryffindor says: OH what?! I worked????? LOL, seems like it works after i post the comment, how silly of me. Anyway Quote: "Fred: Oh get out of the way, Percy. Harry's in a hurry. George: Yeah, he's off to the Chamber of Secrets for a cup of tea with his fanged servant."Avatar Imageashim_gryffindor says: Quote 2: "*Fred*: He can run faster than Severus Snape confronted with shampoo."Avatar Imagerustyrulez2 says: Glad to say I contributed to that number. I'm going to boost it some more when I go see it this week again!Avatar ImageFilthyMudblood___ says: Amazing.Avatar Imageeccentricalice says: Brilliant :) That's a whole lot of people who will have seen the awesomeness that is DH Part 1. Can't wait to see it a fourth time!!!Avatar Imagemystiqueminx says: i am happy and proud to belong to this fandomAvatar Imageclpotter says: wow that's great, it doesn't deserve anything less. it's the best in the series!!! Avatar ImageBewareoftheNargles says: woooo!!! so pleased. this is one franchise i like making excessive amounts of money!!!!!!!! already been twice, could go another hundred times if I were rich. :PAvatar ImagePhoenix1946 says: Remember, folks: Only Dumbledor knew that Harry might be a horcrux. Harry might have suspected this, but only near his walk to face Voldemort in the forest. Therefore, from what Ron knew there were three more horcruxes to destroy.Avatar Imagechris_anderson says: Your absolutely right however the audience still think it is a mistake. The scene between slughorn and riddle. The audience knows there are 7 - 3. The ring, the locket, and diary. 7 - 3 = 4. Ron is a idiot and said 3 to go. cup, diadem, nagini. Harry may not be a horcrux. But the audience will most likely see my reasoning and think the fill makers made a mistakeAvatar Imagechris_anderson says: Yeah but the audience assumed there were 7 total because of the dreamAvatar Imagechris_anderson says: not dream i meant memory Avatar Imagerotfang07 says: @chris_anderson; anyone who has read the DH book or any of Rowling's interviews knows Harry is not a horcrux. And those who are just following the films know Voldemort wanted to split his soul into 7. 6 Horcruxes and his remnant soul. The diary, ring and necklace have been destroyed, so as Ron correctly points out that leaves 3 Horcruxes. The film (as opposed to the book), has the trio clueless as to what the horcruxes might be. DH2 will simply have the trio find out what the last 3 horcruxes are, as well as where they are, as they go along. Harry's having to 'die' to be rid of Voldemort's soul is another issue, and has nothing to do with horcruxes. Avatar ImageEmmaria says: congratulations keep up :DAvatar Imagevampboy says: not surprised at all,Harry deserves it it`sthe best movie everrrrrrrrrrrr!Avatar ImageAlice Weasley says: Yeah, I contributed to that :) Good investment!Avatar Imageshannon1623 says: I'm not surprised, went to the midnight movie and plan on going back this week. It was awesome and I thought they did a great job of sticking to most of the important parts of the bookAvatar ImageJillxoxo says: This is just the beginning!!Avatar Imagethefifthmaurauder_ngolb says: can anyone tell me when the copied cds will come out.Avatar Imagetroyalg says: This is cool, especially since GoF and DH1 are my favorite of the films. GoF been my fav since it came out. I was really hoping HBP would be better (since it's my other favorite of the books) but I felt parts of it lacking. DH1 though was a roller coaster and I can't wait for part 2!Avatar ImageSybilT says: "Awesome"and "amazing" truly describe the film. But would it have killed the screenwriter to include Dudley's appreciation of Harry's saving him from the Dementors? Or Harry giving the fake locket to Kreacher? And what happened to the story of Ariana? And no Viktor Krum at the wedding? Etc, etc. But -- great acting, photography, and special effects. Avatar ImageClaireElizabeth says: I went to the midnight release and it was absolutely phenomenal!Avatar ImageMonkeybutt 95 says: I love it <3 soo amazing! Cant wait to see it over and over again :DAvatar Imagepotterific1891 says: I really liked it! It followed the book better than i hoped!
