Today Show Contest: Class Trip to Wizarding World of Harry Potter (Updated)

This morning, NBC's Today Show announced a brand new contest in correlation with the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park at Universal Orlando. The contest, open to US citizens "currently employed as a teacher of students between five (5) and eighteen (18) years of age in a U.S. school," would allow for one class to be chosen for an trip to the opening of the Wizarding World theme park. In order to enter interested teachers and their classes, are required to produce a three minute or less video answering the question "Why is my class extraordinary?" video from the Today Show segment, which gives a few more details about the contest. In addition to this, closer examination of the full list of rules, it is noted that voting for the winning class will begin "or about Friday, April 23, 2010, at 8:30 AM ET to Thursday, April 29, 2010, at 5:00PM ET." While no announcement date or the like is contained in the rules and regulations, it does note, however, that travel arrangements must be made "minimum of twenty-five (25) days prior to travel." The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is slated to open "Spring 2010."
This contest is now open, and runs through March 19, 2010, at 5:00 pm ET.

If you read the rules and regulations they have on the site, it may give a better idea when the park might open…since the contest is for a trip to the grand opening and they state the voting isnt until April I am thinking May because the trip has to be book 25days prior to travel…take a look.
VOTING
On or about Friday, April 23, 2010, at 8:30 AM ET to Thursday, April 29, 2010, at 5:00PM ET, (the “Voting Period”), or on such other dates and at such other times as determined by TODAY in its sole discretion, visitors to the Website may vote for one (1) Finalist’s Class according to the voting rules and procedures established by TODAY, which will be posted on the Website.
Trip must be completed no later than one (1) day following the date of the end of the Opening Celebration or on such other date as designated by Universal. Blockout dates or other restrictions may apply as dictated by airline and/or hotel. Travel arrangements must be made a minimum of twenty-five (25) days prior to travel and are subject to availability.

@mymoonn1: thanks for the analysis, i was thinking the same thing. so does this mean mid- or end-may? either way is cool, cuz that means i’ll save money in time!
