Harry Potter author J. K. Rowling has been included in a new list of the ten most influential women in Scotland, according to a new report in the Scotsman. The paper reports that the honor was announced at the Action for Children Scotland Woman of Influence Awards, a charitable event which honored the ten women who have had a major impact on Scottish society. Along with J. K. Rowling, such influential women as Violinist Nicola Benedetti, runner Liz McColgan, and Stagecoach co-founder Ann Gloag were also honored at the ceremony. Dubbed the ‘Perfect 10,” the women were chosen by “a panel of the charity’s committee members for their long-term impact in Scotland.”
