Earlier this week, Chris Rankin (Percy Weasley) and Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom) were among those to speak on the Harry Potter Day at Leeds Young People's Film Festival. In a follow up interview about the event, Chris Rankin mentioned that he was due to finish filming "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" shortly. Talking to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Rankin said, "I finish filming mid-May so there's not long to go. It will be strange and very sad to say goodbye."

The Percy Weasley actor also described the Hyde Park Picture House - where the Harry Potter film marathon took place - as "the cinema which time forgot." Rankin remarked that it was "fantastic" to see grandparents and grandchildren together at the event, "enjoying the films as a family." You can find the article on the Yorkshire Evening Post website, at this link.

I really look forward to his role in the movies. Percy was one of the many characters that I always thought was perfectly cast :) When he said that it was “very sad to say goodbye” it shows how passionate he was about the movie. It has been a great ride and an oppurtunity to have great actors :)

It IS strange to think of it coming to an end. Now I really don’t have anything to look forward to, at least the magic never really dies.

The good news is that Chris tells us that the first installment of Deathly Hallows is due out in November! That means it won’t be far behind for North America! I know it is sad that the movie filming is wrapping up, but we still have two more movies, and always have our HP books. Matthew Lewis has really grown into a hottie!

I’d love to see Percy’s final joke witnessed by Fred… It will be a remarkable scene, very strong and intense. I hope they live up to the atmosphere J.K. Rowling intended for that moment…
I can’t believe it’s coming to an end…

Sigh. Wouldn’t you have loved to be at Hyde Park Picture House? And if it’s the “cinema that time forgot”, it sounds absolutely wonderful. Take me there!

They haven’t really made much out of the fact Percy disowned his family. Hopefully the fact they have split DH will mean there is enough time to explain the situation.
