It's another double quotedown for you today, as there are now only 84 days left until "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I" hits theaters! We are posting a quote from the first half of the book every day in celebration and to give us a chance to discuss and ponder the final book as it goes to film. Here are today's!
"Of course, Voldemort would have considered the ways of house-elves far beneath his notice, just like all the purebloods who treat them like animals. . . . It would never have occurred to him that they might have magic that he didn't."
- Hermione Granger
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, "Kreacher's Tale"
"What creature sat in the corner the first time Harry Potter visited my office at Hogwarts?" he said, giving Harry a small shake. "Answer me!"

I’m so glad Kreacher and Dobby are back. One of my favourite moments in the book is when the house elves of Hogwarts charge their way out of the kitchens to fight in the war, i don’t know why but that moment made me cry when i first read it, i really hope it’ll be in the movie.

Another great quote. One of the things I really like about the HP series of books is that characters are not one dimensional. Kreacher is a good example of this. At first he seems to be servile, malicious, sneaky, and then we learn his back story and we feel nothing but compassion for Kreacher. Later on in the final battle, he leads the House Elves into battle, and we see his courage, loyalty, and independence shining through.

Kreacher’s tale made me so sad.
Regulus was a hero in his own right. There should have been a holiday for him.
didn’t the first quote already appear? i might be wrong but i still love both of them especially lupin’s little freak out scenes lol
