There are now only 80 days left until “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I” hits theaters! We are posting a quote from the first half of the book every day in celebration and to give us a chance to discuss and ponder the final book as it goes to film. Here is today’s quote!

“Once I’m seventeen, the protective charm that keeps me safe will break, and that exposes you as well as me. The Order is sure Voldemort will target you, whether to torture you to try and find out where I am, or because he thinks by holding you hostage I’d come and try to rescue you.”

Avatar ImageStoreyann says: Ah Harry, so noble. Never wants to put anyone else in danger. Avatar Imagejeannemcl says: Yeah, wouldn't we all rush to rescue the Dursleys.Avatar ImageGucia says: Dursleys were horrible, but they'd still followed Dumbledore's letter and kept Harry. They could have just thrown him out to the orphanage despite all those wizardy things.Avatar ImageWeenyOwl says: Well, he would have rescued them...maybe not in a heartbeat, but after they'd gotten a little taste of what life in Voldy's crosshairs must've been like for their ward. And maybe even the Dursleys would've gotten a bit of character-building out of that experience! At least Dudley was beginning to show the tiniest glimmer of a capacity for compassion.Avatar ImageSusmita singh says: Yes,this shows the nobility of Harry.Best chapter to describe Dudley's feeling and Harry's anger at their stupidity.I think i love Harry for his feeling for them.Avatar Imageazaadpotter says: So noble of harry to think of the Dursleys even though they didn't look after him well.Avatar ImageJeannine says: Thanks for this it is very appreciate,,,but why is this countdown calander always one day behind the TLC site countdown ....it is already 79 days till.Avatar Imagehermionenluna says: ooh it raises the question. would he? Avatar ImageJessSnape says: This was one of my favorite parts, when Dudley, in his own ways told Harry that he loved him and that he was going to miss him... and that he was really part of the family, Dudley's life wouldn't be the same without Harry in it:)Avatar ImageNumeroUnoFan says: question in everyone's mind...Would he rescue themAvatar Imagetaoist1 says: This was a great part of DH. Mr. Dursley accusing Harry of wanting to take his house. Avatar Imageallprostar31 says: @Jeannine When there are only hours left in the countdown, they will be posting the final quote... they have it timed out right.Avatar Imageforgetmenot_007 says: Love this chapter...who knew Dudley was actually grateful to Harry?Avatar ImageLonewolf_ says: Oh harry, always so noble :)Avatar ImageMidnightSun321 says: <3Avatar ImageHinkypunkmum says: This actually gave me a bit of a shiver, it hit home with just how much danger Harry was truly in, and all of those around him. How strange it must have seemed to the Dursley's, to be told that they were in danger of being tortured and possibly killed by a world they had shunned all their lives. There is a lot hidden in this chapter, not just that of Dudley's remorse, but of Petunia being unable to break , and Vernon being completely confused about the enormity of the situation. It is a very sad chapter.Avatar ImageSlyBones says: :)Avatar ImageMJBDE15 says: i loove the part after this where they are both wondering if harry would have saved his uncle if it cam down to him being captured by the dark lordAvatar ImageAsria says: Dudley actually surprised me in this chapter! Who could've seen that coming? Avatar ImageAsria says: Dudley actually surprised me in this chapter! Who could've seen that coming? Avatar ImageGryffindor_Girl_xx says: Would the Dursleys be saved? Yeah, probably. They're lucky they have a relative like Harry or they'd be in serious trouble! x)Avatar Imagesnunkiebrian says: Oh wow i listened to that Chapter last night hehe, how spooky! Avatar Imageeccentricalice says: This chapter was full of brilliance, the madness of Vernon Dursley, Harry's nobility and the strange, awkward appreciation and regret from Dudley to Harry.Avatar Imagez999993 says: Ah, Harry's loving family. Would Harry have actually saved them if they needed his help? I still can't wait until the movie comes out! only 79 days left.Avatar Imagenickyh says: harry is so kind he is the best!!Avatar ImageLost Northern says: i hate you so much WB i won't this harry potter trailler footage of comic-con and now !!!!Avatar Imageksddancer says: He's so caring!Avatar ImageCarinaPotter says: Hmmm... I would think that Harry would eventually try to rescue them if they were indeed captured... it's his "saving-people" thing, you know... ;-)Avatar ImageAmber_Dale says: Harry is always nice to people(: dudley suprised me!Avatar ImageGiant Squid says: Such a funny part of the book!Avatar ImageGiant Squid says: Such a funny part of the book!Avatar ImageDawna says: I think he would have saved them if he had to. Not that they would have appreciated it. But Harry wouldn't be able to live with himself. He saved Malfoy, didn't he?Avatar ImageFresca says: This was a funny but sad moment in the book. We have Vernon, sure that this whole Voldemort thing is only a plot to steal his house, to Aunt Petunia who can't see what a great nephew she has, to Dudley who has felt through the dementors what a horrible person he had becaome, now showing Harry the respect and concern that the Dursely clan should have shown all along. Great Quote!!! Avatar Imageblueangelrapture says: Definitely would have saved them. That's just the kind of Gryffindor he is!Avatar Imagekandeeland says: Ah Harry, loves his "family" no matter how mean they are. <3Avatar Imagemaddison says: Awwwwwww , I wonder if they eventually knew how wonderful he really is ????Avatar Imagemaddison says: I wonder if the Dursleys ever truely knew how amazing Harry really was ???Avatar Imageblessi says: Don't worry my loves, you are protected and you're safe. Good Luck. Anyway, I like this quote, good choice!. why?, because one of this part made me cry so much because as I remember Harry told to Dudley that, that's he's first time to talk in SENSE (take note) :>> hehe I mean it made me cry because as I remember, for the last time Harry tour Himself and Hedwig all over the house especially his small down stair room. aww!! huhu :< It reminds me of his child hood, I'm really going to miss you Harry.Avatar Imageblessi says: Don't worry my loves, you are protected and you're safe.
