There are now only 66 days left until "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I" hits theaters! We are posting a quote from the first half of the book every day in celebration and to give us a chance to discuss and ponder the final book as it goes to film. Here is today's quote!
"'To Harry James Potter,'" he read, and Harry's insides contracted with a sudden excitement, "I leave the Snitch he caught in his first Quidditch match at Hogwarts, as a reminder of the rewards of perseverance and skill.'"
- Scrimgeour
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, "The Will of Albus Dumbledore"

Dumbledore really pulled a good one here, Scrimgeour never had a chance of figuring out that one! Poor Scrimgeour, he tried to be a good MoM, but he should have listened to Harry. He died strong though, protecting our boy!

So anticlimatic tho, Harry felt. Thinking ok here he is gonna put his life on the line for a dead man and all he gets is a snitch??? At this point he’s not sure what to do or what to think. Heromine however rocks!

So many exciting things in this one too! (Oh my God, everything is so co-related and hyper-symbolic in this book that one phrase can really blow one’s mind away!) First of all, that Scrimgeour (who will die shortly after) is reading the will of Albus (it reminds us that he is dead, that the Ministry knows not of his plans with Harry, that he does have the end mostly figured out, that he still educates Harry, that he is a genius for linking the Snitch to the Resurrection Stone and so on). Secondly, about the nature of the gift, related to the characteristics of Harry and to its first year (and how nice it is to have the vision of him being a child again), to its father (through name and sport). Thirdly, that it encompasses a Hollow. Blimey, the suspense!
first! i cant wait to see emma watson snap on the minister and see if she has the same flair and dignity
