An article ran in the UK newspaper the Mirror today that claims that WB have earmarked a portion of Leavesden studios to become a UK rendition of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the Orlando Harry Potter theme park. We can confirm this is not true. WB has plans for the space on Leavesden, as has been previously reported, but a UK version of the US park is not among them.

However we will have news this week about WB developments for a look behind the film series, so stay tuned!

Avatar Imagesarahkaz says: aww that's too bad! but i'm excited to see what they do to Leavesden!Avatar ImageGiant Squid says: Whatever happens should be interesting!Avatar Imagegexpert says: What is a Leavesden?Avatar ImageSrose says: Leavesden is the huge British studio where they filmed all the Harry potter movies, @ Gene Lin. That's too bad, but I'm excited to hear what they're doing with it instead!Avatar Imageazaadpotter says: Awww sadAvatar Imageswyatt2170 says: They're undertaking some pretty major building work there at the moment. There are what looks to be 3 new sound stages on the back of the lot (BT building side). They're going up pretty fast. The cool thing is that with all the clearing they've done, you can now see the back of the Privot Drive houses from the road.Avatar Imagekiwimci says: cheers for the update swyatt2170, whatever happens it'd be cool to be at Leavesden where it was actually filmed, look forward to seeing the plans and I'll be first to goAvatar ImageThe Gryffindor Fox says: It is an absolute SCANDAL that a Harry Potter theme park had to be put in the US when the books and films are British... but will still be interesting to see what happens at Leavesden.Avatar Imagemolly43 says: Even though I'm in the US I think it would be nice to hear tht the UK and other countries are getting a HP park. I think eventually it will happen as long as the popularity is still there. Hopefully they'll do other HP films to keep it going. But they don't usually build parks in studios, do they? I think they wouldn't do it since it requires so much security to get onto the studio as it is. Avatar Imagewandmastercalum says: Damn that would have been great!!!Avatar Imagemolly43 says: I can see it happening in the UK but maybe some where else. Avatar ImageThe Gryffindor Fox says: Agreed, somewhere in the UK, anywhere as long as it is in the UK! I don't object to the wizarding world being in the US just as long as we get a version of it here in Britain as well... but maybe they think there wouldn't be enough visitor numbers in such a small country?Avatar ImageFabDBacc says: Perhaps it is better not to have another park in Europe as the one in Orlando is still growing. Don't want the "special" aspect to diminish. Would rather have more of the "movie magic" anyway like a behind the scenes look into the much loved HP films. To see sets, props, etc. in person would have an appeal unique to the studio.Avatar ImageShana says: I think a park in Europe would be great! It's great that the one in Florida is still growing, but i'm pretty sure I'll never be able to go there.. (I live in Belgium by the way) So one in Europe would defenitely attract people, and it would be most honourfull to the series, if it would be in the UK. I'll defenitely visit it! Avatar Imagemaanit says: I'm devastated!!!! I really am, I was hoping that we would actually get something here and not have to spend a ridiculous fortune to go to Florida. Even Boris Johnson wants a theme park here, for once, a London Mayor with his priorities in the right order.................Avatar Imagehewy says: It is really a shame that there is no HP theme park in UK. Have been to the one in Orlando (I live in AZ) and it was a budget buster to say the least. Would not have missed it for the world however and luckly the rides are free but merchandise is quite costly, beautiful (made in China) but costly none the less. The view of the castle from the path below the entrance is breathtaking, so if the opportunity arises do not miss taking in this attraction!Avatar ImageLoonyLuna4 says: I'm kind of disappointed that there won't be a uk version but if there's going to be a behind the scenes sort of tour thing at leavesden then that would be great!Avatar Imagehermioneginnyluna says: Dang! You'd think Leavesden would be the first spot they'd think to put in a park, but we'll see. Whatever they do with it, it'll be amazing.Avatar ImageSohumdore says: there is supposed to be a museum built there!Avatar ImageSohumdore says: there is supposed to be a museum built there!Avatar Imageanne1 says: I don't care about a theme park personally, what I'd like to see at Leavesden is the actual sets and props and behind-the-scenes exhibits on aspects of making the films. That would make it a very special place to visit. If I want a theme park I'll go to the US. I'm British and I don't understand this 'it's a British film and a scandal that the theme park is in the US' attitude. Why shouldn't it be in the US when WB stumped up the money for these films in the first place? I see the films as a collaboration between mostly (not all) British talent and a US big studio, so it's a half and half imo.Avatar ImageGryffindor Lioness101 says: I think a park in Europe is a great idea especially considering that England is where Harry Potter originatwd.Avatar Imageamericangirlemmie says: Aw. Thats to bad!!!!Avatar ImageFiniteincantatum says: wow!Avatar Imagegarfiun says: I would like to see a HP park in the UK, since flying out to america isn't cheap.
