Reuters is reporting that “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2″ has reached $900 million in the worldwide box office only 15 days after its initial release. This makes it the fastest movie to ever reach this milestone, breaking the previous 18-day record held by James Cameron’s “Avatar.”

In the U.S., “Part 2″ has brought in over $291 million and another $615 million in the foreign box office.

According to analysts, “Deathly Hallows: Part 2″ is on track to become the first Harry Potter film to reach the $1 billion mark. Currently, “Sorcerer’s Stone” holds the top spot as the biggest Harry Potter film with a total of $974.8 million.

Lol Gonna try to score a 3rd time! :DAvatar ImageHogwartsForever says: Can't think of a more deserving film this summer that deserves such a milestone.Avatar Imageamelia 1-2-3- says: @reven lol totally:)Avatar Imagedork88 says: NICE!Avatar ImageHalfbloodPrince08 says: wow! amazing Avatar ImageLunaLuver says: Wahoo baby!!! I'm seeing it again on Sunday, doing my part to push Harry that little bit father. And seeing how much we all keep going to it again and again, that wouldnt be hard. XDAvatar ImageWON_TWO says: I'm seeing it again tomorrow... Right after 'Cowboys & Aliens'...Avatar ImageKatnordy5 says: I've seen it twice in 2D but I really want to see it in 3D. I am reading all the books before I view it again. Right now I am just beginning the HP and t HBP. I've read all of them more than once except the HPOofP. I've only managed to read it two and 1/2 times now.Avatar ImageHannahLynn says: YES! :D I wonder if it will beat Avatar :D That would be GREAT!Avatar Imageabandonedboyjon says: it actually beat avatar's record by three days, i think that's pretty impressive. analysts are saying DH2 will most likely challenge return of the king's record of 1.12 billion as the third biggest movie of all time. third would be HUGE. and for all those haters who say "what about inflated ticket prices? and imax?" i always tell them- the amount it grosses is a reflection of the money people were willing to pay for it, which is sort of the real testament in terms of box office. i calculated the other day how much i'd spent on movie tickets to see all these films and it was ridiculous but ultimately awesome to look at the overall franchise gross and go, that's the difference i made in that amount. kind of crazy.Avatar ImageReirra says: I would love to see it beat SOO many records that are undeserving! Let's keep going to see it! I've seen it on opening night in 2D, then a few days later in IMAX 3D (which was AWESOME) and will go see it again in 2D soon! Honestly, it's become one of the most enjoyable movies I have ever seen...OUTSIDE of Harry Potter, it's just an awesome movie!!Avatar Imagegexpert says: I've seen it twice... first time i ever done that.Avatar Imagechanngalambeatrice says: Yay! We all contributed to it! I saw it in Imax 3D. ;)Avatar Imagedragonfrog says: Saw it, um, let's count, yep, saw it 5 times: Opening Night in 2D, that Sunday in Imax 3D, then Wed in 2D, Sat in 2D and again this Wed in Imax 3D. Uffta! Avatar Imagechikitcorpuzvesterbaek says: @dragonfrog: WOW. I wish I had the time to do the same. I am seeing it for the second time this sunday (in 3D this time). It's nice to read that I am the only one seeing it more than once. @abandonedboy: yes, it is a reflection of how much people are willing to invest in Harry. Think of all the DVD's and Blue-rays out there, too. My eight-year old is WAITING for when the DH2 to come, so she can see it. Avatar Imagechikitcorpuzvesterbaek says: oops, i meant" am NOT the only one..."Avatar ImageHufflepuffDreamer says: I've seen it twice. I hope it makes it to 1 billion. :) That movie rocked, even though they put a completely uncanon paring in it. Neville/Luna. It's never going to happen in the world Joe created. They are just friends, and I love both of their characters to death, but they are not right for one another. And it's good to have a Hufflepuff end up with Neville. I like that idea. Anyone agree with me that they shouldn't have done that?Avatar ImageHufflepuffDreamer says: I can't believe I put Joe in there. No idea why. You all know I meant Jo. :) Avatar Imageazaadpotter says: yeah yeah yeah thats the way to go HP. Avatar Imagejain says: Opening wkend figures don't really mean much. It's the figure that they draw the line under that counts most, and the vampires have never touched any of the Potter final figures. But now we need to look at the pirates as our next achievable target. Personaly i find it an insult that such rubbish sits above any of the Potter films. and i'd love us to knock the sinking ship from 2nd placeAvatar Imagemencia says: wow awesome!Avatar ImageRadhe-Ravenclaw says: I saw it thrice in the first week! First on the day it released.. 15th July.. then 17th july.. then 19th july! All 3D shows! I was so high on Harry! And cried every single time. :-D Avatar Imagelordbossdan says: yeah lets goooo Avatar Imageagarwalsonika7 says: Our movie must cross $1 billion! Wow!Avatar ImageHarry-Potter.fan says: Woo! :D Seen it twice in 3D, off to see it again this weekend hopefully!Avatar ImageStoenk says: i 've seen it twice. once in 3D in German and once in English with my dad.Avatar ImageFleur-de- Lily says: That is truly amazing that the movie has reaches $900M in global box office.Avatar Imagewandmastercalum says: Well done Harry Potter!! Sadly I've only seen it once but I would love to see it another 2 times :)Avatar Imagewandmastercalum says: Well done Harry Potter!! Sadly I've only seen it once but I would love to see it another 2 times :)Avatar Imagecamila_black08 says: Hahaha!!! I new it!!Avatar Imagecamila_black08 says: I didn't see it in 3D yet... I'm going to watch in Imax 3D saturday :DAvatar Imagekiwimci says: Can't wait to get home to see it again! I want it to beat Avatar come on Harry!Avatar Image1HarryPotterFan123 says: WOO HOO!!!!!! WE CAN DO IT GUYS!!!!!!Avatar Imagekyrstalkris says: Whoo! Go Harry Potter! They really do deserve it! :DAvatar ImageVane-Ale says: I already saw it twice and I'm going again in a couple of days... but... why is everybody so happy that the movie is reaching the billion dolar mark? We are not getting any dime of it... we're making WB soooooo rich! I'm just glad the movie got such great acceptance not only because we are loyal fans but because it is the end of an era. Avatar ImageCorruptedNethicite says: @ chikitcorpuzvesterbaek, I agree with having Neville with hufflepuff student Hannah Abbott. Yeah, I'll go watch it a 2nd time. The only reason I didn't is because I wanted to watch it with a friend who hasn't seen it yet.Avatar Imagejain says: with a 17 day holiday ( with 3 days left) a years cinema pass which allows me to go to the cinema as many times as i wish during that period and a bemused group of family and friends. i've seen this film 31 times and counting. When Harry's on, i only go and see him. Same as when in New York in April I went for 5 days purely to see Dan in H2S and saw it 6 times. If i enjoy it, why not. When i watch the end and see the three leads fading into blackness, i know it's the end of an era.Avatar Imagegirlatty1 says: One billion sounds like a good number!Avatar Imagegirlatty1 says: One billion sounds like a good number!Avatar Imagehandhrfan18 says: i have seen it three time already! it was worth the money everytime! it is the first movie to ever make me feel soo emmotional <3. it is just plain awesome! they derserve to make a billion! :DAvatar Imagevicki_the_house_elf says: Fantastic! Hopefully we'll be able to beat Titanic, I don't think anything will move Avatar from the top spot. *grumbles* I was going to see the film again on the 31st to celebrate Harry's birthday but I'm desperate be be a Pottermore tester, I'll probably go next week instead (and the week after that, and the week after that ETC.) :DAvatar Imagerainmaker says: I saw it twice on IMAX 3D the first I've ever done in my movie watching life...and I must say with the rate of movie watchers up until now in 2D, 3D or IMAX 3D reaching the 1 billion mark is definitely possible.Avatar ImageElenakiMagic says: I saw it 2 times in 3D and 1 time in 2D :PAvatar Imagetracyyo says: Find here that I am not the only one that go to see it again and again.Avatar ImageRadiance says: HA! Take THAT, Avatar! I was never really a huge Avatar fan anyway... (;Avatar ImageErin Lovegood says: I've seen the film only twice, but I have an average of seeing each Potter film at least 7 times..I've got a ways to go and they have more money to make off me. :)Avatar ImageMidnightSun321 says: Woo! I'm contributing ;)Avatar ImageMidnightSun321 says: Woo! I'm contributing ;)Avatar ImageTeamWeaslyTwins says: gna c it again on monday....gotta c this movie beat avatar.......come on guys do your partAvatar Imagejoe11093 says: i really wanna see it again. And no other recent movie really deserves 1billion $Avatar ImageJodleiG says: can't get enough of it, if only the last three films were as good as this, have seen it twice already and think I might go again this week!!!Avatar ImageGiant Squid says: Yay! I love it!
