Regardless of how dated that photo may be, it is certainly amusing to see a shot of an actor who is so often cast as a villain that actually makes him look cute and friendly! In any case, here’s my toast to an actor of extraordinary professional skill and timing – not to mention gifted with that superb instrument of a voice. May he remain in good health and continue to ply his talents in roles that stretch him artistically and delight his audiences for many, many years to come!

Happy birthday to an extraordinarily talented actor! I especially love the way you can say so much through your facial expressions without uttering a word (and your mesmerizing voice, of course). In fact, I bought a blu-ray player just so I can see all your facial expressions more clearly when I’m watching all the Snape scenes, because unfortunately Snape likes his classroom and office all dark and gloomy, and I always felt like I couldn’t see his face properly even though I walk up and stand right in front of my TV whenever Snape scenes come up.
