In June, Leaky told you about ITV's plans to produce a show entitled "50 Greatest Harry Potter Moments." Fans were invited to vote for their favorite moments from the first seven films via Facebook.
ITV has now announced that the 2-hour show will air tonight at 8 p.m. GMT on ITV1 in the U.K. It will be narrated by actor Robbie Coltrane (Rubeus Hagrid) and feature contributions from other Harry Potter cast members, J.K. Rowling, and celebrity fans such as singer Will Young.
To celebrate the release of the final instalment in the Harry Potter film saga, this special programme counts down the 50 greatest Harry Potter moments. Robbie Coltrane - aka Hagrid - narrates the countdown and looks back at the events which have defined the story of Harry and his friends. From the very first meeting aboard the Hogwarts Express to the death of the mighty Dumbledore, there are numerous scenes that have made Harry Potter an international favourite. Featuring contributions from Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, JK Rowling, Julie Walters, Ralph Fiennes, director David Yates and many more, as well as chats with celebrity fans including Will Young and Richard Curtis

well great for people living in the UK and unfortunate for us :(
I think it was one of the best “Potter” shows I have seen. Jo was indeed very heavily involved but of course, there was very little coverage of DH2 moments and therefore the greatest of all Potter moments – The Prince’s Tale/ The Forest Again – could not be included. All in all, it made me realise just how wonderful and -yes -magical -these films were and also what a debt we all owe to Jo (who is clearly having trouble letting go) for her story.

I watched it last night it was so good.
Really enjoyed it! I think they’d have to edit it if they were going to show it in the US though – I’m British and I didn’t recognise half the minor celebrities who they had as “talking heads”. The nice thing was that they showed more than just 50 moments, as they included a few mini-montages in there.

I’m British and watched it last night and, I hate to break it to you, it was a little bit rubbish. It was nice to see snippets of seven films in one place but there were some very bad interviews with the actors (who exposed the fact that they didn’t understand quidditch, for example), and the countdown choices seemed, to me at least, a little contrived. Still any Harry Potter on TV is better than no Harry Potter on TV – Love the latest film – gagging for Pottermore!

Also, must agree with “oj” – some of the “talking head celebreties” were Z-list!

Found it on the ITV website but when trying to play it errors out … then found this bit of information … looks like it will only be available in the UK while my hind quarters reside in California. Ah well! enjoy it all UK folks and tell us about it, please!-D
I live outside the UK and cannot watch programmes, why?
We do not hold international rights to all of our programming so video content is supplied only to users with IP addresses in the UK. Some users in Britain may be affected by such geographic blocking if their internet service provider uses servers outside the UK.

Thought it was quite a decent programme. Should have kept the interviews to those involved with Potter, no need to pad it out with “celebrities”
Obviously there wasn’t going to be much content in relation to DHP2, also it said the public voted for the countdown, it musn’t have been well advertised because I never saw anything!
Regarding the countdown I must admit I was surprised the rebirth of Voldemort was down in 17th place I think, that was a fantastic & scary moment in TGOF and it represents a turning point in the whole story when Harry’s enemy now becomes a physical presence who can harm or kill him.

Kindly someone has summarized the 50 moments in two segments here, about 6 minutes each:
50 to 26: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lkx0FzQH_2A&feature=related
25 to 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9w96n1m_VY&feature=related
While it isn’t the whole 90 minute show it does show each bit!

@Valeria-Johanna, I completely agree, the first thing my Mum said when it finished was “why didn’t they have any Snape moments?” An outrage! It was quite fun but I wouldn’t have personally chosen the number 1 moment as my number 1!
