I got them all except the last one in blu-ray. Why spend a fortune when you can get not really anything different like a over 3 hours directors cut. Or a commintary like in the part 1 blu-ray. Has some good things added. The actors have said that they shot vertually the entire part 2 book and cut it for time. That alone would be worth a fortune. But no you make a zillion on a picture and won’t give us what be great but I guess the movie did not do that well and the cutting would cost money. Jeees and they want you to spend a fortune on some thing you can get in Blu-Ray at a reasonable price. That is an insult to every Harry Potter Fan we Spent Billions and they give us a pig in a dress. Shame on them. I hear that the cut parts would give a super fantastic movie.

Maybe they cut the parts for a reason, like they weren’t satisfactory for the direction the movie was being taken in? It was a good quality end to the series, albeit a few hiccups, it’s rather ridiculous to badmouth the company for not adding extra scenes. They’re deleted for a reason.

Also, perhaps they haven’t made extended editions in the past because it ruins the continuity of the movie. Take the OOTP Deleted Scene of Trelawney getting messy with the cream pie. It’s throughout the whole Umbridge speech. How would you fit that in? Dudley saying goodbye to Harry would have conflicted with the rather well done introduction with the Music accompanient of Obliviate.

They’re deleted for a reason. Yes, they may have been good scenes…but we’ll have to judge that ourselves on December 2nd. Every good film franchise has a Collectors Edition. You don’t HAVE to buy it, just to prove yourself a Potter fan. I have all the DVDs and a BR of Part 1. Do I need this set? No, I don’t. It has basic blu rays with it. Noone’s forcing you to buy it.

Some people need to see sense.

@BMcFly1: I was saying that, if in the future they wished to make extended editions, then adding a particular scene to scenes that have already had music implemented into them would be difficult. Of course they could ‘rescore’ them but since, let’s say, Prisoner of Azkaban has been out for a fair few years now, it seems rather far-fetched that Warner Bros. would get John Williams and an orchestra back in to just rescore a scene.

The key factors for cutting a scene are mostly due to it not fitting into the movie how they want it to be directed, if you’d read my post. For example, the starting scene of Part 1. They wanted an effective scene of each character, two of them moving on, in short little segments before the Title Card. This was a perfect accompanient to the track ‘Obliviate’. If they were to extend the movie in the future with the Dudley scene, it would look rather out of place. The scene itself is significantly longer than these other ‘moments’ in the scene and it would totally conflict with the track in question.

I hope you understand what I mean.
