In a new interview with MTV, director Guillermo del Toro discusses his hopes to cast Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) for the lead role in his retelling of "Beauty and the Beast." Del Toro is now in the process of writing the story for the film, and that process may take years.

It takes a long time to get a script to film-able quality, particularly because you need support from producers, studios, actors, etc.

I agree that it seems like a long time to wait but if that will help the movie be great then I’m all for it! ;) I agree that Emma would be great choice for the movie and having Del Toro to say that he wants her too is just another plus! :D I hope Emma will say yes to him, after all he is one of the best directors out there… ;)

Why are you all so shocked at it taking years? It takes a long time to procur a good quality script and Del Toro is a good quality director and thorough writer.
