Harry Potter book publisher Bloomsbury made mention in a recent Reuters report regarding its yearly profits, that “[I]t was counting on a new Rowling three-book box set tied into the Potter series, and a non-fiction account of spies in World War II to support sales in the coming year.”

This is quite interesting news, for we have yet to hear whether this “three-book set” will come in the form of a new release or, even, new Harry Potter material. (We can dream!)

Avatar Imageluna.quibbler says: OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!Avatar Imageroonwit says: I wouldn't get your hopes up too much. The box set is probably Quidditch Through the Ages, Fantastic Beasts and Beedle the Bard - I can't see where else they will get three such books from.Avatar Imagekatelyner123 says: OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG I HAVE TO GET THESE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Avatar ImageMagical Arts says: I agree you, Ronnwit. Unfortanly... It would be soooo cool if more of the school books or somthing from the books could be wrote.. Quidditch Through the Ages and Fantastic Beasts are SO funny :D It would be very fun to read Lockhart's books, haha..Avatar Imagehorcruxhunter7 says: Yay! Yay! Yay!Avatar Imagegav0071 says: They may just be spell books, or other text books used in the series! Sounds like she is doing a "Goeorge lucas" and rehashing old material for a few bucks. not that I have anything against capitalism. Its just been sooo long since the potterverse has had something new! lets have a book about the original order, or about the Maruaders, or about Dumbldore and Nicolas Flammel even!Avatar Imagegav0071 says: They may just be spell books, or other text books used in the series! I think there would be much more publicity if there were new books and fresh material.Avatar ImageCatherine says: First comment Storm Rose :p this sounds exciting!!!!!! SQUEEAvatar ImageCatherine says: Watch it be quid ditch through out the ages, magical beasts and where to find them, and the tales of beatle the bard :pAvatar Imageratorr2 says: It sounds like they will be more textbook type books. Any type of Harry Potter books will be great to have but was extremely disappointed to find that non of these three will be the encyclopedia she promised us many years ago. Avatar ImageHollyLime says: I hope it's not just a repackaging of something old!Avatar ImageElwood J. Blues says: I really do hope it's actually new content that is interesting. It's been a long time since we've had something new. Avatar ImageMaestra2 says: WHATEV!! I Am Excited!!Avatar ImageMaestra2 says: UPDATE!!! This morning we first told you that Bloomsbury was counting on “a new Rowling three-book box set tied into the Potter series” to help profits. Now, a small description has appeared. A report on Sharecast calls the boxset a “Hogwarts Library Box Set.” In our first post, fans speculated that this 3-book set would be Beedle the Bard, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and Quidditch Through the Ages wrapped in one. While plausible, we were hesitant to believe this because Reuters’ report stated that Bloomsbury was “counting on” the boxset to boost sales. A re-release of content doesn’t seem like something that would boost sales. Nonetheless, this “Hogwarts Library Box Set” description certainly lends to fans’ theories. What do you think it will be? Thanks to Thomas for the Sharecast article.Avatar Imagekatelyner123 says: ok, this is what i am hoping for.......... The Prince's Tale, The Old School Marauders, and Hogwarts, A History :DDDDDDDDDDDDdAvatar Imagekatelyner123 says: ok, this is what i am hoping for.......... The Prince's Tale, The Old School Marauders, and Hogwarts, A History :DDDDDDDDDDDDAvatar ImageSirius B says: "Hogwarts: A History" is a mustAvatar ImageG.Weasley says: OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I wonder what it's going to be. If it is more Hogwarts books I would be happy to buy them and read them. I've read basically every book by Jo except for Quidditch Through the Ages. I still gotta buy that.Avatar ImageHPphilosopher says: Wow!!!Avatar ImageLunaLuver says: Well now, this soften the blow from JKR's other news. I would very much love it to be Hogwars Library Books, and if this is the case I will be one very happy girl. :) It must be something new, otherwise it wouldnt be a sales booster.Avatar Imagejacket says: hogwarts a history, hogwarts a history please let one of them be hogwarts a history!Avatar Imagemuggle..andproudofit says: Hmmm and OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Avatar ImageCauldronAsh28077 says: Brilliant! I hope this is what we hope it might be. I still think that JKR should employ young writers to keep the HP universe alive with expanded universe books and short stories like George Lucas has done with Star Wars,Avatar ImageLa La Toadstone says: It is too vague. Sigh...Avatar Imageroonwit says: LunaLuver: New editions of existing books do boost sales - it is why publishers do them and I could see a boxed set of QA, FB and Beedle bringing in enough money to be worth doing, probably e-book versions would be as well and it is possible that new paper editions could be tied in to e-book editions appearing a bit later on Pottermore.Avatar ImageCatherine says: I have the quidditch and magical beasts and beedle the bard. The first two came in a box set when they first came out for comic releif...and the box said Hogwarts Library Box Set. I've seen Tales added to that set recently under the same title. But everyones right--why would that bring in a lot of money if its just a repackage? But here's another question: Would Jo release to huge books in one year? Vacancy and Harry Potter related?Avatar ImageFleur-de- Lily says: Hogwarts: A History” is a must have! Avatar ImageDrarryLover says: OMR! OMR! OMR! OMR! I'm sitting in class and trying so hard not to squeal! Arggggghhhhh!Avatar Imageroonwit says: I think this is a case of a story getting over-hyped, starting with Reuters (or before). If you look at http://www.bloomsbury-ir.co.uk/html/financial/f_latest.html you will see the Hogwart's LibraryBox Set is one of 10 books on their "Strong trade list for 2012", not one of two. Also on that page they mention Pottermore and the key section on Harry Potter looking forward says "We are celebrating the 15th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone on June 26th 2012 with a large consumer competition to drive people into bookshops and libraries - giving us strong promotional activity for JK Rowling over the summer months. We are publishing illustrated editions of Harry Potter from 2013 and this year we will be publishing Hogwarts Library a three book box set." If the box set was as important to Bloomsbury as some people suggest they would surely have listed it first!Avatar ImageWON_TWO says: Don't get your hopes up too far!Avatar ImageFredFreakinWeasly says: Can't wait to hear more about it XDAvatar ImageGrindylow_101 says: OMG! I hope it it HP material! *Finger crossed* This is the best news since pottermore! XDAvatar ImageWeenyOwl says: I agree will all who posited that the new product will simply be a new repackaging of Beasts, Quidditch and Beedle. They would be making a much bigger deal about it if new material were forthcoming from JKR. Any new box set of existing works by a highly popular author will generate a spike in sales, since it's an obvious 'gift idea.' Further, JKR has repeatedly stated that her share of the profits from any new Potterverse volumes would be donated to her favorite charities, and the three existing books from the 'Hogwarts Library' are already so dedicated.Avatar ImageWeenyOwl says: That should read 'I agree with all,' not 'will all.' ::grumbles at herself::Avatar ImageElwood J. Blues says: According to mugglenet it is. Wow that's annoying.Avatar ImageWON_TWO says: Yes it sure was annoying!
